I heard the revamped version a while back now but had never listened to this version. Brilliant vocals from both Mark and Essence. Mark sounds like a cross between Simon Le Bon and Holly Johnson on this. Music is fantastic and production sounds massive. Rated. Craig
This track blows my mind. Thumbs up.
Love it, Big sound Big Tune.
Wow, I haven't commented on this!? Well f**k me!! I really thought I visited this. Well, I have to say, this is just f**king awesome!! Love the synths, effects, vocals (very awesome job on the vocals Mark and Essence!!), beat, just everything really. Man... you're awesome dude. I can't fault it. It's high quality. Such great material to be put on radio, tv, and movies! Some good stuff you got here. Congrats on the chart place Aaron. You really outdid yourself!! Rated!! :D
This is another good one. I liked the laid back beat and flowing vocals.
Firstly, Thanks for the comments for my song 'Are You Satisfied?' Secondly this is an awesome track. I particularly like the break in the middle where the vocals dominate. Good job. Deservedly rated.
Hi Mr. Redshirt ! . firstly thanks for your comments on my song Victim of a Heartbreak ..... in the UK we have a boyband called Westlife .. let's put it this way .. I would make money if they covered the song! ... as for your stuff ... you def know what you are doing . some great sounds going on ... (I owned an OBX a) ... Great stuff! ...
Get at me with a hot track and I promise I'll set it on fire.
beautiful complex track - dynamic - expressive vocals - your style is becoming more distinctive with each track you throw up here. talk about prolific.Rated / nom
felt like making it 100 lol no j/k still an awesome track! coming back to listen still! :D abeey x
hi man, still trying to work out which version of this song I prefer, theyre both awsome in different ways. thanks for your comments, the vocals in it belong to another artist, I added FX to them, for flow and space, worked well i think..still looking for vocalists to work with...I'm actually based in the UK, but I get what u mean about u guys liking it slower paced, its a better way to go in my opinion. u can hear more detail in the beats. without it sounding too cluttered... u mentioned about nominating it for the charts....I didnt know u could do that lol, i thought it was only ratings..would appreciate it if u could point me in the direction of how to do that, I'd like to do it for some artists on here..yourself included...think i need to spend more time on here looking around lol... thnks again Jase
Hey, my little babies! Cool and very unique track...bad beats!
Thanks guys..yeah, most times experimental can mean experi....ty, hah! Man, this track is real uplifting! Love the kinda bell string sound..very ' night-time' an chilled! Lovin the tossed squelchy under current an the vox are sweet. Some very fresh ideas in there, also..good luck with it.

Guys, you're gonna have 2 show me how Mark is able to hold that note at the mid point 4 so dam long? I keep trying to imitate it and Bob Brannan keeps telling me that I'm hurting his ears! ha ha~ I just had 2 stop by again, even if I do have the download! Love this joint DJ; it's hot to death! It's hot in here and some body turned the heat on HELL!!!!!! Kid

I just heard this for the first time, wow, let me rephrase that "WOW!!!", female vokes reminds me of the chick from Portishead & Massive Attack, which is top-frikkin-notch, male vocals shred as well, not to mention the A-1 mixing skills. Rated
Back again for this stunner. More collabs like this please!!
Excellent! This has turned out brilliant! Thanks for all your supercool comments everybody! And great work aaron! Mark
Yup.... defo added a new flavor with the added vocal, she sounds excellent... and it was already excellent track... the only thing is the very ending... it seems to just drop off and end, but, it doesn't bother me just seems abrupt... great track... I already rated it but I will drop off another NOM for you guys!!! excellent work Aaron and all involved!
Top track ! The voice of Essence works wonders.... a magical, mystical sonic glue... Well Marks vocals are Marks vocals, what can I say, the man can sing ! Good stuff Mr. Shirt... r/n

I'm going to have to say this is definitely my favorite track I've heard from you now... that break is great, I love it. The music and vocals really compliment each other well. Excellent. Rate/Nom
the intro is a bit undecided. hypnotic vocals. the snare pattern adds a certain hectic energy. love the break, the voices go very well together. great professional work, very soulful.
I echo all below. Awesome!!! Kurt
Amazing. Sounds like you are all in one studio recording. Loved it the first time...what can I say? Double love it now? Okay..Double love it! haha.. Great sounds! Added vocals are terrific! "Keep the faith" :) -rated- Carol Sue
Hey! the duet is a great touch and works really well! The rest as always is superb :-) Rated Martin
Darn I was gonna start with Awesome! But it is, especially the middle bit, Marks vocals work so well in this track, a nice sort of haunting feel to them, along with Essences vocals, they are both killer. ONAGER
Awsome collab guys and girls!Vocals are hot and I like the effects ya got on em.Well mixed and produced, too.Sounds commercial even.Lots of different things going on in it,very cool!
No this one doesnt work for me......Only kidding:) This is so funky. The middle build workd so well, and i got to agree about both vocals, makes this little track so commercial. Now lets see if I can press some buttons. All of them. Steve
still like it, nice addition with the new vocals gives it a more commercial vibe.got your stamp all over it including the high levels ;) 0.0db not to bad if you only play it @ half volume but i like to crank it up and due to the high levels it loses some of the gloss. still a quality track i clicked rate but nothing happened so i must have rated first time :) i have the same problem with a few my tracks with changing them and re uploading
You have some serious production skills m8, the vocals are perfect on the track tearing right through your chi and rollin beats. Rated!
Gets better with every listen. Top track m8.

Nice chunky, stuttered synth/bass layers throughout and of course great beats....the vocal reminds me of Frankie goes to Hollywood and is brilliantly performed and mixed. Ratings all round. Kevin.
Great track guys...it has an 80's feel with the vocal in it, not that I mind that. Good to hear a live bass in there too.
Another excellently produced track from you dude. Quality from start to finish, the breaks with the chilled vibe reminds me of some of BTs work. When the vocals come in, that works very very well, great voice! Only thing I noticed is that the paino could be louder, its a bit hard to hear. anyways, brilliant track!
Your right Aaron....this is awsome, of course I love it! I only wish I could produce to this standard...I agree with Ricky, I get the Duran vibe at the start of the vocals but that is a compliment..totally this track is great, gets my rate and a nom, excellent collab guys. Regards: Fatal X 8 ~ Aka ~ Destri
quality stuff guys dont know about anyone else but when the vocals first droped i reminded me of duran duran gets my votes congrats on the number 1 this weekend ;)

Fantastic - stuff, i'm in a rush so typing as i listen! Marks vocals have just come in. Powerfull, well complemented by the backing. The mix of timing with the double time backing and slower held on vocals is great. I wish i had more time to liste3n to his again - but i gotta dash. Will be back!
MmyyGoddd but that's outstanding stuff.I'd rate it but I'm all out so I'll have to return next week! Talk about grabbing you by the bollix from the getgo! Consistent quality from you lads...top notch quality! Best wishes from the Shed!
Bassline really punches this song through - a great mix - I think Acoustimik summs it up nicely - so much in this.

STILL AWESOME! did you change something else on this... sounded different this time ? maybe just a mix tweak.... Mark
;)
diggin the bassline... yup - this is quality stuff guys! Good Luck in the Competition!
Amazing track again! Impressed how you make the song start out as a dance track, and seamlessly manage to weave in the singing. I could see this be a hit record, plain and simple. Again you have some of the fattest and exciting synth sounds on board, and Marks singing is superb, lots of feeling in this piece, full monty from me.
Yeah this true RED style, great production, u seem to always get a nice balance, tell you what the vocal near blows u away when it comes in, Nice.1 Mark and well produced into the mix, the use of FX really suit it to the track, a deffo thumbs up mate!
Stellar!
Yeah man. I agree with everything that you have said and respect it..the comments put forward by yourself about this track have really sunk in. The production is ....in savage and yeah, the singing from the man himself is spot on. Good luck in the comp fellas..I can still hear the 'electronica' sound btw ;) peace.
Bass line is stupendous, I would love to now your writing secrets. They all seem so individual and full. Amazing as always mate. Steve

Wowsers... well this just kicks ass doesn't it... OMG... I know all about Marks vocal capability, he is freaking awesome - good choice for a collab... rated & nominated.... TOO COOL - gotta go hear it again! Mark
stellar performance... extra tight production my friend..! Nice vox and I like the way the are brought down in the mix as it gives the track depth... Drums are just pounding... Some of those low oscillating growls sound like the chemical brothers which is cool.. wow you guys are good..!

I 12th the vote! Mark Alexander for Artist of the week you bet! Think I have heard every song by him. "After the rain" just gets me! Wonderful collab! Give me warm fuzzies! "rated" :) Carol Sue
I was wondering how this collab would turn out, and it's awesome. Well done the pair of you. Gotta love it when folk work together like this.

Well done Aaron for spotting the possibilities in marks brilliant vocal stylings. I have always rated Mark as abrilliant writer and singer. You've taken his obvious talent and twisted it to a new level. Great collab, and well done to bothe. Rated and Nominated Steve

Hailing from the Southern California coast, Aaron Jones (Redshirt Theory) developed his innate musical sensibility from his father who played guitar in a local band. Over time Aaron was introduced to classic rock bands like The Beatles, The Who, and Queen; classical composers like Aaron Copeland and Carl Orff; and electronic bands like Prodigy, Chemical Brothers, and Daft Punk. His inspiration to compose stemmed from the undulating beat mixes of bands like the Prodigy and The Chemical Brothers. Impressed by all genres, he quickly found a niche; creating his own style of infusing various instruments with complex beat patterns. This unique sound experiment soon landed him contracts with video game distributors and local Arts groups.
Since 2005, Aaron Jones has collaborated with the prestigious Arts organization, Quixotic Fusion in Kansas City, and has been featured in over twenty games for the Wii, Xbox360, and PS3 consoles. His collaborative mission keeps his style innovative, mixing electronica with instruments that are unconventional to the electronic scene. Recent collaborations include compositions with sitar, banjo, and Celtic flutes. These challenges distinguish his unparalleled approach and are quickly making Redshirt Theory internationally recognized. As an artist that doesn’t settle for conformist musical views, Redshirt Theory continues to explore electronic music’s vast avenues and push the limits for a redefined musical genre.

So here I am with another review. This week, I took on a different approach of choosing who the victim/lucky person would be. I'm not being egotistical by any means. I love writing reviews and giving people a perspective of their music not thought possible. Basically; a good experience. And not just for the artist but the readers themselves. This week... I decided whoever got #1 on the weekly char
I have to admit that upon the first listen, I found this track confusing in that I was slightly unsure as to where it was going. It has an exceptionally complex structure which takes a few listens to really get to grips with. This is not necessarily a bad thing, however, btu in general, I do feel that the track is much longer than it needs to be. The 1:15 long intro builds exceptionally well,
The first artist this month from MP3 Unsigned is an old mate, Redshirt Theory whose IDM stylee has captured my ears a time or two over the last year or so - and I don't particularly like dance that much. Mind you, I do like almost everything so long as its done well and has plenty to say and on that score it's not surprising that Redshirt Theory should be such a big deal on that site. Funnily enou
Your reviewer can’t help thinking that he’s on a hiding to nothing taking on a track that, at the time of writing, had received 52 comments, 37 ratings, been downloaded 31 times and hit the #1 spot here on MP3Unsigned. But hey, that’s the price you pay for inviting requests for reviews. Mind you, couple that with the fact that one half of this collaboration (Redshirt Theory) has had, at t
Well first of all I have to say I've been following the progress between The Tartan Rascals and Redshirt Theory over the last few months and they never fail to amaze me with their combined talents. Akkie's great guitar work, Redshirts kick ass beats and Stevie's vocals all make for a great fusion of sounds. (Don't forget to mail that cheque to me :-p) Right onto the track. I think the thing
"Come Home" is Redshirts second entry into the 'elements' competition after the stunning 'Infliction' track which I highly recommend you give a listen. Comparisons aside, "Come Home" is another successful collab with the Tartan Rascals and a fine entry into the competition, focusing as Reshirt describes on 'human emotions as they are important "elements" to our lives', which I thought was a pretty
could easily see myself going crazy to this version of the sheds original. keep up the good work. any chance you'll do a version where you drop the beat in the middle only to bring it stomping back with 'one from the quiver' ringing over and over in my blessed ears. BTW i always thought the lyrics were 'run from the river' but apparently its as stated .one from the quiver is a reference to how goo
Right first of all I would like to just quickly say that Redshirt Thoery aka. Aaron Jones, is one of the many artists on this site that I am in awe of. His talents coupled with his sheer determination never cease to amaze me. He has a great personality and his passion for music is clearly apparent in all that he does. Okay then so onto the track. First of all it starts off with a nice trippy
Ninety comments! It's hard to imagine I could add anything to what's already been said about this track, but I'm certainly going to give it a go. Senser. Prodigy. It's all that's basically going through my mind when I'm listening to this. I love those bands, and I'm automatically loving this. This track kicks some serious gluteus maximus. Massive beats hypnotise immediately, ensuring they're
Redshirt Theory's Blue Mind in a Red State takes the listener on quite a journey. As he describes it, ths song takes you from pain to letting loose brilliantly. Although the first half of the song went a little long, it does build up the "pain" quite nice to be released halfway through the song. Early on, the synthesized strings (I think) remind me of the
My review of the artist formally known as dj redshirt now the Redshirt Theory Track Blue mind in a red state First off a small but very informal discussion J Mr Redshirt and I are kinda in a love hate relasanship I hate him he loves me J That will do now for the review The into is really cool to this track, very trippy & haunting. reall
At least I think this is the track I am supposed to review but my copy says this is called Good Faith so I'm a bit confused. Situation normal then. I'm not confused about Redshirt Theory though because Aaron Jones (for it is he) has delivered some very neat music my way over the past few months. One of which, Its Been a Long Time (June 2006) got a Must Have rating from me a
This is my first ever review on this site and boy did I pick a 'biggy'! It has been sitting at the top of the charts for the past week and on hearing it, that is no surprise at all.It has been welcomed on the site as a whole as a great piece of work and at 9 minutes long, the listener clearly gets their monies worth. I have to add at this point that those of you who know my work, will realise, tha
Wow. This just grabbed me, straight from the start! The synth line is great, and to me it feels really big. Certain synth sounds that come into it during the first part sound immense, really adding to the overall feel of the piece. The drums are good and powerful, banging away like nobody's business! The vocals are excellently delivered, really complimenting the music, and Saphire really does
Awesome work bro! Way cool. The changes completely make this different. I could definitely hit the nightlife listening to this. Keep it up!
For those who don’t know me where have you been? Although I will give you the benefit of the doubt and introduce myself as the Singer-Songwriter from Serenity or the nutty bird known as RainyD here at Mp3unsigned.com. I would also like to point out I am no producer and usually team up with the incredibly talented Virus (just because he’s a G and better than me at production really).&nb;
As I've said before...this track is simply awesome. Marks' vocals are exquisite! Strong, dynamic, energetic...you engage the listener from the beginning to end. Production is top of the line, probably woulda had a little phatter bass line throughout but for the most part, this is an excellent collab. How does one follow up on this track? A remix perhaps? hmmm Definitely radio/club mater
Third time around for MP3 Unsigned's The Redshirt adn I must admit I was really curious to hear what they'd dished up this time. Warmed Up (February 2006) certainly piqued my curiousity even though - for my money - it wasn't the slam bang track it should have been. Its Been a Long Time (June 2006), however was everything that their first track had hinted at and then some. A solid
Redshirt - Moon Shine
I first came across this MP3 Unsigned artist when I reviewed his Warmed Up (February 2006) which I liked but thought that somehow it missed the mark. It SHOULD have been a killer track because it had everything going for it, but to my ears there was something essential missing. At the end of that review I wrote 'it's fairly obvious that if this is an example of what The Redshirt does,
Hello everyone! This is an honor to review the well-known, electronic artist DJ Redshirt, who happens to walk around here with no shirt on. Why is it an honor? Well, because he’s one of my favorite artists here on MP3Unsigned and I couldn’t wait to get to do this review! Now keep in mind that this is a remix (as it’s clearly labeled, “Embers (The Redshirt Remix)”), howe
Seen My Friends? This is a haunting piece of music. I feel a little like it is from a different level of existance---a sort of cloudy floating mist! Altogether an impressive piece of work. Thank You for sharing it.
I am listening to talent -- This is nothing short of genius! I appreciate good hard pounding dance music. It Is Right Here!
Can we say "Download"?? Good job!
OOPS I did not mean to push tis button,,, I am listening and my fingers were tapping and i accidentally hit it again I'm not sorry but it is embarrasing
I had trouble getting to listen to the music as my computer for some reason didnt engage the player here,, I downloaded it and I have to tell you that I am SO pleased that I DID. The song is fabulous. I love music but only music that is good, I have to download some more,, so I'll be back without a doubt.! ! !
I had already commented on this but thought i'd officially review... Now this is not really what i listen to on a daily basis, but that being said, I really dig this stuff!
I want to cry. This is an amazing song, another redshirt masterpeice anyone might think. however for once i have some things to pick at in this track, but again its not much. I'll as usual start with the negatives, the intro to my ears is to repetitive, could just be the mood im in but, really is to much for me, it also echos the same repitieve nature through the entire song, which im not to
Two words come to mind in this track, "Holy" and "Shi*t" this really is a cracking production, theres absolutoly nothing i can say wrong about this track, actually im lieing i can, one thing, and thats the vocals the get on my nervs a bit becuas they are few and far between, i would like to hear more of them, but when they do appear they fit in so well to this song. I'm litrelly blowen awa
Energy. I decided yesterday that I was going to write my first proper review on Mp3 unsigned and I spent most of the day listening to new tunes. To be honest I was a little deterred that the majority of the music on the boards was not my usual preferred genre/style(s). The majority of what I listened to was electronica, Hip-Hop trance and dance and given that my preferred/favourite
My Religion By The RedshirtOk, first I'm going to start off with a question...... What the hell is this tune doing on MP3 unsigned?Right now this tune should be sat in Records boxes across the globe pressed by some big European dance lable. Its that good! This is really hard for me because before I did any reviews (this is my second), I told myself I would never give a 10/10 to anything
Ok Here goes, no offence intended to the original but i like this much better, having listened to both i disliked the first it didn't keep me very interested through the song. the remix however is more up my street, redshirt as always has captured a great sound in this track, its a pleasure to review, purely because i listen to the tracks i review a hell of alot and usually loop them in the b
Well here goes this is my last review of this session, and im about to review what I assume is one of the heavy weights on mp3unsigned. I am basing this on the amount of QUALITY artists that leave comments on his page I also want to make this clear dj redshirt asked me to review this track, the way he reviews his. this is based on 7=10’s but I just don’t see the point, as the template us
The Redshirt (not to be confused with anything else of a bloody colour) is an MP3 Unsigned artist I have not had the pleasure to review as yet, but just reading some of the blurb on his page gave me much to chew over. A electronica artist from California The Redshirt claims he is ' is the start of a revolution back to the big beats of electronic music. We have slowly let our electronic
I’ll start by saying, I know nothing what so ever about Electronica, in fact I can honestly say I know less than that. And to be perfectly honest I picked this track because its description is Hard Dance, Guitar Rock Clash If I had to sum this track up quickly I’d say its ‘Edgy’ not in a bad way, in a fat way. It started off and right away you know this track shows a promise of things to
I cannot believe that not many more people jumped at the chance to review one of MP3Unsigned.com's most talented artists..I could'nt wait to sort this one out. The track is seriousley tough man, it has a built up aggression that is transposed through music perfect. I have always thought very highlt of The Redshirt..I remember when the dude first came onto the scene and his music
The Redshirt is a US Electronica producer. There are a ton of Electronica artists populating MP3Unsigned, and he is just one of them. I haven't heard The Redshirt's music until he asked me to review "Freedom". Took several listens and here is what I think.....
