Energy.

I decided yesterday that I was going to write my first proper review on Mp3 unsigned and I spent most of the day listening to new tunes. To be honest I was a little deterred that the majority of the music on the boards was not my usual preferred genre/style(s).  The majority of what I listened to was electronica, Hip-Hop trance and dance and given that my preferred/favourite style is guitar based music such as acoustic, indie and rock, it was a different and enlightening afternoon to say the least.  Regardless of the genre…I realised that I could still tell a good song and review it adequately.  I gotta say I listened to many songs and this one was the only one I really wanted to play Again so here you are!

I remember listening to the original takeover a few months ago and thought it was dam accomplished track.  I’ve had a listen to other mixes of this song and I’ve liked the direction you’ve taken the re mix in. (I also liked Tedd-Z’s and what Mancini did with the vox which I thought was clearer than the original.)  Toe to toe tho I preferred the redshirt remix.

musical/track structure

Good intro, builds up to 42 seconds and then kicks in with great effect.  The different sections are distinct and filled with different cool themes and sounds.  Drums sound massive and different keyboard/synth parts are well done and well placed.  The structure’s great, I liked the different styled breaks and lyrical sections and the whole effort was just the right length of time for me

Musical interest.

Must say its difficult when you don’t know how everything was done!  I have knowledge of guitar music and studio recording and usually when I here a track I can say well this is that, that it this etc but this is a new world to me which I need more knowledge about.  I still however digged this track and if I wasn’t interested I would have played it a dozen times.

Melody

There are many strong melodies in this song steming from the original and the mix, I found the rap agreeable but I find other parts of the song more melodic.  I think I agree with someone who said recently that a 9 or 10 melody , albeit maybe annoying, has to be something you couldn’t get out your head for days on end!

Musical performance and recording quality

Cracking from what I can tell! Singing’s great and instruments and effects are done very well.

Production and recording quality is excellent, very clean and professional.

Overall I enjoyed the track and that’s whats important regardless of my preferred genre or knowledge.  I enjoyed the track and wanted to listen to it again, I liked its energy and flow, reminded me a tiny bit of ‘fuckin in the bushes’ and other themes I can’t put my finger on but likeable nonetheless.

All in All great track which was very well done.
