This is my first ever review on this site and boy did I pick a 'biggy'! It has been sitting at the top of the charts for the past week and on hearing it, that is no surprise at all.It has been welcomed on the site as a whole as a great piece of work and at 9 minutes long, the listener clearly gets their monies worth.

I have to add at this point that those of you who know my work, will realise, that I don't do Trance/Dance and can really take it or leave it.Each to his/her own as they say, and everyone has an opinion especially with music whatever the Genre. So with that in mind, what has Aaron, DJ Redshirt  offered me here?

Getting Massive (Extended Cut)..........

This is a very apt title for this track as that it does exactly what it says on the tin.It builds and builds progressively painting a picture which will mean different things to different listeners. The use of Synths, Pads and Spheres are seamlessly patchworked into a deep sound which begins with an intro which draws you in to the track as if to say "Wow what have we here?" Well as you continue to listen, you sure do find out! Saphfire's vocal addition is the masterpiece to this track as it elevates it to a level of real commercial appeal which, without it would just leave it in the box marked average Trance.I did however, find it difficult to pick out what lyrics were sung at times but that is a minor criticism. She gave the track, to me, an Eastern vibe which was very pleasant to the ear.I loved the high hat up to the change a 1.19 where the synth drove the track onwards and upwards.

This has a very club-like appeal and would not be out of place in such an atmosphere as it became intoxicating. The main theme continues and then at 3.34 we are treated to a breakdown which at this point is welcomed as it nicely prepares you for the next phase.Saphfire leads the drama and intrigue as her haunting vocal dresses the track immaculately. It was a little neo-classical at this point and I thought that some dramatic classical strings would have been a tremendous addition to really lift the track to yet another level. This drama is continued to 4.13 when the original theme is returned seamlessly. The production of the mix is superb. I listened through headphones but I imagine through speakers would be wicked but my neighbours would have not been impressed!! Loved the use of the reverse cymbal at 6.01 to introduce another phase and we are treated to some more synths and pads and towards the end phase, at 7.38  there is an interesting pad introduced which beautifully floats around the main theme. The track then drifts to the end which I have to say was a bit of an anti climax as I may have built it up but approaching 9 mins, you have to stop somewhere.

So I did like my first journey into Trance land and was not disappointed. Anyone who has not heard this ( and I will be surprised if there are many) I strongly urge you to do so as it deservedly reached # 1 and would be, as has been stated, be brilliant for use in the gymnasium as it has the energy to inspire you to 'move' with it.Well done Aaron and to Saphfire.
