Thanks for all the support over the years MP3U folks!
This song brings back some really nice memories... so nice to hear it again. Came by to congratulate you, Mark~ as I see you featured artist on the cover! :)
this is truly great!
Just listening again, and, man, this track is so damned uplifting!
This track is so hopeful, optimistic, and inspiring! Wow! I love it!
Scrolling down the comments, amazing that so many of the people are still around here at mp3unsigned, isn't it. Seems like yesterday really, wow... I often listen to your tunes when in my car, so I can hear clearly the additions from Joseph. Simply awesome the two of you sound together! ;) Truly, you write some killer good music Mark - I think I know your tunes word for word now! As Joseph would say, "Keep Comin!" ;)
Beauty music! I like that one
nice smooth rock feel, nice guitars too (cheers for your kind words on my page, much appreciated)
Cool. Glad you got a great string slinger like Joesph to contribute to your great track Mark. The track is ace from top to bottom. R8!
Hey Mark, this is an excellent track and the guitar by Joseph is great too. Well done. Rated. Crave
Quality sounding track Mark. You do an awsome job putting these tunes togather.I've never mastered the cut and paste technic.Still dont even know how to program my drum machine, just use the presets and hope for the best, lol. Laurel
Ran out of noms last time. It got it this time, not that you needed one. I hum/sing this song a lot. It's winner for sure.
very epic dramatic sound. the vox could be a tad louder in the mix I think. Atmospheric guitar sound, very good production.
thanks you very much!
Great track, superbly produced, all intruments sound absoloutely superb ! rated
Great track. Listened to it in the AM when I "woke up this morning" :-). Rated as usual.
Sounding very nice, epsecially liking the new production too. Acoustic, and vocals are sounding spot on man! Nice work:) Mark
Did't think you could improve on this...but damn you did...well done Joseph and Marky!!
G'day Mark, from all I read before me, this was a great track from the outset and you have added a little polish that has made it sparkle. J.Rod (gotta love that nic) certainly is versatile, and I wont pretend to understand all the tekkie stuff, just a great song and loved the lyrics. Good collab and well done.
thanks dave :-)
Can't recall this cracker...... Still, I am here now and I am glad I am. A great track. Love the strings too.
Enjoyed it before, this is much better with a different set of "strings"! Great collab guys, this is quite impressive!
thanks James... I was real pleased with the mix on this track... I wish i could get all my tracks to this mix... so hard to do :-) thanks folks for having a listen!
Well I can't rate agen but I sure can throw a nom agen on some superb work. J's guitaring is icing on the provernial cake dude. Well done you two
The guitar definitely adds to what was already a great song. Craig
Wow, Mr Joseph's guitar playing really spiced this up, I remember this from last time, and liked it then, nice mix of talent here. Great intro. Nice bit of mixing & wicked guitar playing by Joseph. I rated it last time, can I rate it again. I'll give it a go! Sonya Stewart.
meant , `i missed it 1st time round`....doh!
I missed this, coz i joined 3 weeks later lol!. This is a great track Mark....those drums stand out brilliantly. But then everything does.....such a brill production...crystal clear over a fine song....rated from me np.
ta... I love em! the parts Tito sent were already the optimum level and the timings were perfect and the FX matched just fine... we'll be working together on some other things now! thanks all for having a listen!
Here for another listen, track sounding better than it ever has. Odd how you think a track cant get any better then you hear a few additions and it just seems to raise it to another level. Must admit the guitar additions are very gorgeous don't you think lol :)
FANTASTIC Mark!! A great piece of "Splicing" indeed . Loved it the first time and it seems to be better. Love the guitar which sounds so clear and crisp. Great vocals from you too my friend! rated. Andy :)
wow! you're the master of editing. sounds great.
Thanks so much Joseph... new mix now up!
this track have a great potencial. my rate for you.
I'm still workin my way through a veritable backlog of stuff so apologies for hittin this late Mark. Yep the song does remind me of something but I'm gonna just have a real blast enjoyin this... A crackin composition, well and truly worked in great musical style. superb
Hey, Mark. Whud up? I'm finally coming here to comment on a song of yours. Here we go! Nice peaceful mood with the beginning. The bass guitar gives me a sense that something is waking up. Whoa! You just sang about waking up. Yeah... That's good stuff. I like this style, man. Nice and rocky. It's a simple sounding song but the feeling is so complex. Everything sounds so clear and precise. If that's you singing, you do have a good voice. A little breathy and forceful but rest assure. No worries, trust me. Through my speakers, it sounds a little too high. If you used a DeEsser, you may think about tweaking it. Too much treble IMO. But it's nooooo prolemo. Just trying to give it to you from another speakers view. My speakers are a little higher in the high end so I do understand how it stands out. The mix is strong. The cymbal sequences and metals are very clear sounding. Awesome job there. The BD is smooth sounding. I would describe the technique to be "crisp" sounding. I like it. Everything stands out. To sum it up(the sum of andy stokes, lol): This is a great song and it screams positive energy. A cloud with no rain heard. That's awesome, man. Have a rate along with an awesome day.
Very good song in all respects. Great music, great vocals and great production. Rated. Craig
Hi Mark Very well produced and performed track. It is a good song. Perhaps a wee bit on the long side for radio play but good none the less. Cheers Rog
Hi Mark, It's Sonya Stewart here, thanks for your comments. Great song Wonder why - good production! All the best, Sonya.
This track sounds so 80s! Its very well composed and produced. I like poetry to a soundtrack, i guess thats the basis of all good singers. rated
Reminds me of a late 70's early 80's group, Name is on the tip of my tongue HAHAHA Hate it when that happens! Hey yeah I Like this alot and you do play them keys darn good, I like the whole thing.
thanks you very much guys... this is really my style... I really need to write more in this vein... i might have something :)
Hey man!...well this is sounding fine! Nice new mix job youve done on it. Its a great song, so it stands up in its own anyway. I wldve liked to have added some bass to this by the way;) Mark
this is just a great damn tune. topped off with a phenomenal production. "All" the playing is impeccable but the piano playing really stands out.
This is a great song dude - has some nice chordwork and good structure. You got some good drum sounds going on but for me I'd have put more in on the drums. Your vox is good and clear. Tis a gud song and very deservedly pulls a rate from me. Take a nom for the great pianowork too. String aint bad either hee hee. Good stuff
Holley, still doin' your thang! This is nice, love the musicianship...especially the piano, a good mix. Nice work! de Shawn aka The Prince of RnB~ ratedx
great song Mark! Production is spot on. Nice touch with the vibra-slap. R8!
Thanks girlie :-) appreciate that!
Very familiar with your song, probably listened 20 times if not more. Posted here one year ago... dang time flies by so fast doesn't it! You just keep getting better & better with everything you do Mark! This sounds excellent - great remix - wonderful tune! Still your fan, Carol Sue :)
hey bro! This is a pretty fine mix, song sounds good and polished. cheers!
Sorry I haven't been around in awhile Mr. Holley. I enjoyed the lyrical concept to this. I really liked the line: I can feel the hurt but I can’t find the pain. Chord changes were solid and the piano/keys sound real nice. I'll try to stop by more often. Peace.
Thanks you folks very mucho!
Great re-mix brother, very polished and professional sounding. Sweet vocals, you sir are a musical genuis. All the buttons pushed my friend.
You definitely are! Production is really pro-sounding......I can imagine this in one of those John Hughes (think that's his name.....he did one with Molly Ringwald....)rom-com movies from the 80's or one of the current ones of course!! Kevin Mooney
Thanks bud, appreciate the listen... maybe I'm getting the hang of this producing thing :-)
very cool mark...i cant make out the difference sorry been ages since i heard this track...sounds very polished tho to my ears...great keys m8...and of course the vocals work a treat to talking of which thumbs up
Well produced and arranged!! I agree the Chord changes are neat. And the Vocals, great!! Bon Jovi? who? LOL!! I joke, I really like this track, Is it me or does it have a very Summer like feel to it?
well constructed song - really like the chord changes - nice arrangement - that little jazzy break is sweet - well done Mark:)
Nice track Mark, vocals really sell the track although musically it's very, very good too, it has an 80's feel to it which is fine by me, great overall sound on the keyboards and bass/drums, good production, good stuff mate :)
Your keyboard playing is fantastic, I'm more at home playing at half speed and correcting with quantinisation type of guy hahaha (least I'm honest lol) and can only give respect to the real pros like yourself who do it for real :) I like the dryer vocal sound by the way I've gone right off reverb on vocals lately for some some reason :)
Jeeeez I love it...glad I nommed it before as I don't have noms any more...you are a fantastic songwriter Marky....I've always thought so.
thanks guys! GOod to hear from you Mark A.! I will be getting around to working on the one you sent me soon! Miss working with you man! Hope the band is doing well.... Thanks David, stay dry over there... I'll be in Tulsa at the Sideline Club on the 21 of July BTW
Allright, Mark! Nice hook, very catchy. Strong performance on vocals and keyboards, and some great lyrics to boot. Mixed feelings about the strings, couldn't help thinking I'd like to hear this without them as at times they were a little distracting for me. Still, some superb songcraft, and easily rated.
Yeah i can hear the difference straight away! New bass, new strings, especially the strings just before the 1 minute mark make a big diff. The whole mix has alot more sparkle and clarity. I think also the production on ur vocals on this is loads better. Very clear, and dry sounding, BUT, perhaps could do with just a small hint of reverb on it as i felt they were just a bit too dry! Good work tho Mark, and a great song of course:) Mark:)
all the drums BTW geiger are keyboard based and played from the keyboard manually :-0 Thanks for the comment on the srum sounds although i bet a drummer will have a different viewpoint , lol :-)
Thanks so much folks! this one has been a hard sell for some reason... I appreciate the listens!
Where have I been lol, looks like I missed another great track. Love the drums on this and just the general quality of the production, obviously you know your stuff. Everyone should stop by and see how a good snare should sound :) Better mention the song while I'm on lol, great rocky vibe, excellent keyboard sounds (I'm sorta reminded of TOTO think it was David Paich who played on their songs) I would like to hear more of your lower register on the vocals as well where it is slightly reminiscent of Gerry Rafferty (really lol) All positives my end take a rate :)
The opening made me think of pink floyd straightaway, but the song then heads in a different direction. Good solid drums, nice bass, driving the song forward. The guitars and strings in the chorus make for a very full sound, and your voice cuts through the mix perfectly. Exciting track, well written, well performed, it's all there!
Thanks Mark and Jenny!
Just going through your songs and realized that I must have missed quite a few... very lax ain't I..:-) anyway this is fab,
I think you're an amazing songwriter.. and your production is crispy clear!! I love the sort of jazzy influence this track has! it's sooo original!! great lyrics! I love the suspense at the end of the track too! I don't know why I haven't recommended you by now! but I'm getting straight on it! lol...Rated :) Jen xxx
Another gem, lovely kicking drve beat.
Thanks Andy... appreciate that.... I've already taken Steve's advise and I'm modifing both of the tracks he reviewed by adding some spot guitar bits here and there... thanks for coming and having a listen Andy!
I wonder why I missed this.Picked it up from SG's review! A very good track Mark both Lyically, vocally and musically.production sounds very clean and all in all a great listen.Rated:) Andy :)
How did I miss listening to this! Awwwwe! I love this song Mark! You are a brilliant songwriter and performer! Consider me your fan! -rated + nominated-adding to me favs too!- :) Carol Sue
Not directly my type of music, but i love the vibe in your track. It got indead hitpotential if you ask me. It 's a shiny happy sound!!
Wow - i never realized this hit the official chart, thanks everyone!
brilliant song here Mark....lovely stuff. Well engineered too.....wish i could get that sound...talented bloke is u. nice one.
Whew... Thank You All So Very Much... this was actually the very first tune i digitally recorded myself on the home studio and was the learning pad for all my tracks.... Thanks Again Mark
really cool track mark cracking vocals reminds me of cheers in parts :) you knocking some quality stuff out m8 deffo gets my rating :)
Never heard other versions of course, but all i can say is for me it is bloody fantastic!! It's so good that I am adding to my playlist so I can hear it often. Lyrics are so good, I am green, Mark. I love the rythm and cannot fault the performance. Your vocal here is really really perfect for the song...and if i was giving it a rating out of ten, it would have to be 11 at least. Just superb Mark...rate and nom for this!
Well thats a big difference on this mark. Sounds so much better. Its come to life. Lots of clarity, very fresh sounding, and it jumps out at you. Excellent production. And top piano work again. Very well done sir:) Mark
Nice sounds in the intro clean. Like the changes. Your musicianship is top. That jazzy change is very nice. I like soungs where a part comes in that doesn't come from the tune, yet adds so much to what you remember about the song. The Beatles were great for that kind of trick. Congratulations, it sounds great.
Thanks Mark, i thought about that... actually it started off just acoustic but i couldnt get it to flow well enough just me on the guitar... i am going to do an acoustic only version of "Wait"... I haven't posted that here at mp3, it's still at soundclick though.... I'm going to work on the bluesy one first though Laters... ;-)
I wonder why....this has no comments yet?! Another excellent track! This type of song would sound good in acoustic form aswell i think. Really good song writing, and production. Mark

Last night, after a break of a few weeks I spent some time in the chatroom at Mixposure during Mike-K's Saturday Night Rocks radio show. If you don't know about it, you really should check it out; always full of some very familiar names. Ok so there I was hanging out and a Joseph Rodriguez track came on, then the man himself came into the chatroom which got me to thinking... I first met Joseph
well i put a listen into this song and as i liked it, i found quite a few problems with the mix in general.I found the drums got muffled quite a few times throughout the song(where the BGV`s were). The vocals were extremely centered through the whole song & and as i read in another review i found the vocals were a bit shaky or winey (seemed like very little confidence in vocal ability). The lo
If you have been reading these reviews for any length of time the name Mark Holley will be well known to you. An MP3 Unsigned based singer/songwriter/producer, I've reviewed lots of his tracks, and many of the endless collaborations he's into. Such as this one, as it happens. The last Mark Holley track I reviewed was Wonder Why (May 2008) which also featured guitarist Joseph Rodr
I've known of Mark Holley, an MP3 Unsigned based songwriter for a couple of years but, sad to say, I haven't heard anything new from him for a while. Most of the tracks I have reviewed, I haven't particularly liked the style but there is no denying that the man knows what he is doing, and that ultimately if you like a good song, tastefully delivered then he can by relied on to supply that.&n;
Onto my fourth review for this batch (or second if you don't count the two that got deleted due to recent hacking probs), and after recovering from an inner ear infection, I move onto yet another collab between Mark Holley, Mark Alexander (who I've reviewed before) and Joseph Rodriguez (who I've reviewed earlier on this batch)! As Mark Holley has said in the song info, this has done thr
First and foremost I am a guitarist but I did learn to play piano at an early age so I can appreciate the keymanship on this track whic emulates amazingly realistic guitar sounds. The track has a big 80's style rhythm guitar that grounds things to the beat - very cool and retro. On top of this Mark Holley quickly asserts himwself as a virtuoso with a keyuboard solo along the line of Drea
Reanna Smile (finalmix) by Mark Holley I’m going to start this review by telling you, dear reader, a bit more about myself. The reasons for this will become clear as the review progresses. I married for the first time when I was 20 years old and my first wife was 19. We ran a fish and chip shop in Richmond Surrey for many years and, when I was 26, we decided to start a family. My
First off, Mark is one of the nicest guys I've met on the site and has always been willing to give more then he receives. He's a very well rounded musician who plays multiple instruments in multple bands. Now, I haven't listened to Mark's entire library, but have sampled a few (I will get to that Mark). Most are well played and solidly wri
Out of the myriad of Mark's over at MP3 Unsigned I seem to have agthered the acquaintance of a couple, one of which is the Mark Holley we have before us right now. 2006 was peppered with fine tracks from this artist gaining him a string of recommended's from yours truly, even though - being honest - I haven't heard anything from this artist yet that really set me alight. Mind you, ther
Regular readers will know that the hitherto unknown territory of Norman, Oklahoma now contains a person we have all come to know - at least if you are a regular at MP3 Unsigned. I've probably reviewed Mark more often in a collaborative guise than on his own, but hey there's nowt wrong with a bit of mingling. Although a bit rough around the edges both of his collaborations with Mark Ale
I first heard this in back in August and it received a lot of constructive comments which Mark took on board. He worked tirelessly it seems to edge towards perfection. The addition of Hans' (Drainage) drumming gives it a great 'live' feel to it. Also the introduction of Mark Alexander's backing vocals just seems to add to the professionalism. A combination of some class acts here on MP3 unsig
Reviewing Mark Holley these days is pretty much reviewing the other Mark too - Mark Alexander to be precise - because he has ALL the vocal duties on this track. Both Mark's are, of course, MP3 Unsigned artists who have had a good many reviews from me, the bulk of them being relatively favourable. Considering my usual crabbiness towards singer/songwriters (as they both are) that's not b
Well, here I go again…apologizing for taking so long to do this review. However, Mr. Holley assured me that he still wanted me to do the aforementioned promised review…so here we go. The artist(s) this go round are Mark Holley and Mark Alexander. The song that Mark H. asked me to review is “Blinded By The Blues”. This is the first time for me to encounter Mark Holley and my
Today’s review is mark Holley Blinded (By the Blues) with Mark Alexander. First off congrats on making aotw J very much deserved And congrats on making the official charts, pretty good week for you mate lets see if I can make it any better J Before I even played this track I knew it was going to be something worth playing. I don’t think you can go wrong with mark Alexander’s vo
I ended my last review of MP3 Unsigned's Mark Holley by calling myself a opinionated, perfectionist knobhead - which as most readers will know is a fairly accurate description. The reason I covered myself in such glory was that although I liked what Mark was doing from a professional attitude (good performances, good production values), as a listener I was left wanting. It wasn't that
Maniac Melodic chorus! Right well I said I would review a track and I was on the verge of doing Tim EP’s very very good untitled track but seen as this is a rock song I thought I could do this more justice. And then I must admit I heard the first minute or so and I was going to hang fire. BUT THEN – that chorus! Christ that took me by the seat of me pants and rose me on
There seems to be a preponderance of Mark's on MP3 Unsigned and here's a track featuring two of them. Mark Alexander should be a name some of you will recognise because I've reviewed at least a couple of his tracks already and he's quite visible on the site. Mark Holley, on the other hand, is a new name to me. A 'keyboardist/guitarist/writer' from Oooooklahoma Oklahoma Oklahoma s
