Hello everyone! This is an honor to review the well-known, electronic artist DJ Redshirt, who happens to walk around here with no shirt on. Why is it an honor? Well, because he’s one of my favorite artists here on MP3Unsigned and I couldn’t wait to get to do this review! Now keep in mind that this is a remix (as it’s clearly labeled, “Embers (The Redshirt Remix)”), however I won’t be reviewing it on arranging skills, but as if it was indeed an original song. I think heard the original song before and if I remember the song correctly, then I’d have to say that this remix has completely turned it around! But did he make a complete 180 degree turn, or a measly 179 degree turn (you call that turning around?)??
The beginning of this track is an excellent attention grabber and quickly gets to the main point, or as it seems. I’m real jealous with the quality of everything here. The recording and the quality of the synths/bass sound. The drums are awesome as well and it fits with everything going on. We hear a bit of the vocal sample of the artist here known as Essence, who has a lovely voice by the way. It’s cleverly spliced to fit the drums and the mood this track. The cut up electronic synths and awesome use of filters top it off creating that Redshirt flavor. I love the way he uses every synth/bass/beat to make the full sound that I always want to hear in a track. I can safely say he’s an amazing artist here and to hear a Redshirt remix is always a treat, which is just as satisfying to be treated by his originals.
Here’s where the negative part of my review comes in. Goodbye negative paragraph because there’s absolutely nothing negative I have to say. The only way you can get a 10 for melody from me is where it absolutely moves me (an epic, dramatic melody) and as for musical interest, you need that 10 for melody (it’s a package deal)!
Well as for the question concerning a whole 180 degree turn, I can safely say that I guarantee you that I do not know the answer to that question. So, you’ll just have to find out yourselves!
