For those who don’t know me where have you been?  Although I will give you the benefit of the doubt and introduce myself as the Singer-Songwriter from Serenity or the nutty bird known as RainyD here at Mp3unsigned.com.  I would also like to point out I am no producer and usually team up with the incredibly talented Virus (just because he’s a G and better than me at production really).  So I am writing this review as an avid listener and these are my views and should be treated as such.

When I first asked who wanted there track reviewed I was a bit taken back when The Redshirt (Redshirt Theory) asked for my opinion!  Now for anyone who doesn’t know the Redshirt you really must be living under a toadstool in the back garden or something.  The Redshirt aka Aaron Jones has been impressing the pants off everyone at Mp3unsigned.com since his arrival in early 2005.   I can’t recall how many contests this guy has won or ranked in the top three in the last 18 months but needless to say he has been a constant player in all of the contests he has entered.    Aaron brings us highly professional sounds from California, USA and is a very popular and well-respected talented producer on this site.  The only question I have for anyone is why the hell hasn’t been signed already?  This guy is consistently talented and brings the best out in everything I have ever seen him work with.  So I am hoping this is just down to the right people not hearing him yet.  As his tunes should definitely be playing in high places from clubs to high quality film or game productions without a doubt.  Now that I’ve probably bored the pants off of everyone that knows The Redshirt, I will get down to business.  (See and I didn’t even mention the fact this guy has awesome chest and is well fit did I…?  Well nearly ;))

Good Grace (BreakBeat)

What a collaboration of talents!  With Production by musical veteran The Redshirt and the very talented and quite new to Mp3ungsinged.com Mark Alexander, I know I am in for a treat even before I play this baby.

With a quite dark intro and class drum and bass I know I am not going to be disappointed!  Couple this with some class synth work with vocals fx too for good measure I am already hooked and this tune has only just kicked off.  Is there no end of The Redshirts talents?  I continue listening to find out….

When Mark Alexander comes in, in full power I immediately love his vocal.  It suits the style of the track extremely well and they bring a better production to the forefront.  A dynamite combination you might say!  With quality vocals and lyrics I am suddenly struck by a very pretty piano melody that carries the whole track along until more hard-hitting breakbeats can be found.  What with harmonics and lots of echo on the vocal it really adds volume to the instrumentation.  I am interested to know who’s vocal is synthesized in-between verses but whatever it works really well!

The synth work on this track is second to none!  It’s tighter than a duck backside in water and put together by a master.  So although I am listening for the seventh time now really trying to find at least one floor I am having immense trouble in doing so.  This track is put together by a pro and this is one of the best if not the best I have heard from him so way to go that man!  I must also point out that dnb/breakbeat (same thing some would argue) is not my thing but this track certainly is!  I should add I was pretty unsurprised to find this particular track had been mp3unsigned official No.1 as voted by VIP listeners in the official Mp3unsigned.com chart.

All I can say is more please!! I can’t wait to hear more collabs from this pair and I want to wish them both the very best of luck for the future.  Mark Alexander has been a hit here since he arrived and has a unique and excellent vocal.  Don’t believe me?  Check his page out for yourself and I assure you, you won’t be disappointed.  Aaron is a master at what he does so more collabs can only be more of a great thing!

Get to it!  We are waiting here….
