Morning Fantasy - (Aug'06)
A song inspired by a friend who fancied someone they saw on the bus to work every morning :-) Aug 06 done and dusted on a manic Friday night :-D
A great pop song that has layers, love all the backing harmonies they work so well, and the overall composition works! great sounding guitar. 'Stevie C'
Love the summery, uptempo feel to this and the harmonies. Catchy stuff - voted :)
Nice tracks:)
Good work Martin...rock and roll..oh ye
I second that!
You have 'IT'...and you should be signed!
Thought I'd come by and listen to a track of yours. Congratulations on the new one! I like the opening. Good stuff. I like the lyrics a lot. That's the way I feel about my wife. This song explains it all when I had first met her. lol I like the happy, peppyness of the song. It's a great tempo. The production sounds a bit too bright to me but by all means, it doesn't take away from the enjoyment of the song. It's very entertaining. It's a good joy to sing about someone you like. This reminds me of one of those songs a boy could sing to a girl he likes, outside after throwing a rock at her window. All in all this is a very up-beat track. Very happy and energetic sounding. The production was a little too bright to me and the guitar and rhythm could have used a bit more depth but by all means does this not take away the enjoyment of the song. It's a great little tune! Your voice fits the style very very well. Awesome job done here! Have a good rate and an awesome day!
Very catchy pop with a def '60s sound/vibe. Rated.
Love the tune mate great vocals and harmonies.Pop at its best, has that 60's vibe with a modern feel nice one .R
This tune has a beat that makes sense! Love the Brian Wilson/Beatles harmonies and rich layers. Nice!
This song has a happy uplifting quality. Quite a pick-me-up. It stays in my mind long after hearing it, which is always a good sign. Cool stuff. Rated.
wow ! a real surprise. the sun has come out and the weather is fine. love this. real toe-tapper with a beach boy-ish drop in the middle. rated.
Popalicious. Great track again, 2nd I've heard from you, both accenting excellent song writing and arrangment originality. Clap clap.
Beach Boys harmonies, sort of. Sunny song. The guitar arrangement suits the tune very well. wow, even falsetto in the break. boom boom boom... hehehe, classic songwriting at its best. just the fade is a bit abrupt.
Martin, Wow! I love this! I can see why it won. Energy, energy, energy, fun, fun, fun all the way through. Beatles meets Do Wop meets ... Martin. The harmonies are great and the ending is FANTASTIC. Dean

Wow nice voice is this the one with the new mic? Sounds crystal clear to me. Can't believe I've not been to your page before, I'm sure I have though, maybe on one of your other track. I like the uplifting vibe to this track, lyrics and vocals top class.
Very upbeat, catchy and witty! Like the drive in it too and those cool guitar sounds. This song immediatetly brought a smile on my face, especially also your singing that talks of self-irony and faked self-pity. Thank you :-)!

Hi Martin This is Cowboy Cal (Bob Brannan) Nice song ... The retro thing is cool ... Rated Bob
Hi Martin, thanks for the prompt, this is a cracking tune. And you've got 'aah-aah-aah-aah' and 'doopdoopdoopdoop' and 'oohoohooh' all over the place. Come on everyone, this is IT, England needs more 'bupbupbup' over handclaps. And Martin, don't know what your day job is but I'd like (a) to buy a luscious CD, like Foreboding's "Hand of God" (b) to know of any gigs you might be lining up.

Very nice guitars, liking the vocals and lyrics with good harmonies! Very catchy song, well done
Agree with the Beatles influence but that doesn't deter from the fact that this sounds far superior than half the crap we listen to in the charts. Amazing stuff! Especially like the chorus sections that really build the vocals up.
*bows*.....sheer class mate....i know its been said, but it's got Beatles written all over it. I love the beatles, and love this track. I'd love to have half your talent. rates and noms all the way. I salute you!

Wow! Martin! What an excellent lively song. I really like this and fair dues to ya for rattling it off in a night. Guitars excellent. Vocals Excellent. Harmonies and backing vox Excellent. Love the retro feel. Top production. Overall ..... Ya like! HOT man!!! Best song I've heard in ages. !!!!!!!! Rogue R&N; from the Shed
Fantastic track! I love the play off between the vox and high guitar part. The breakdown is so feel-good (in fact, so is the whole track). Definately keeping this for the summer days :)
Nice one Martin. It does have a Beatles and even a little 50's rock sound to it.Love them harmony back ground vocals.Great beat to it,Think I'll nominate this baby!
Brilliant - I can't say anythinig different to what has already been put - this is very 'Ready, Steady, Go' This will do well in the competition - good luck.
had to take another listen...i love this sound!!! The Kid
i think beatles when i hear this. and reading through it looks like others have as well. this is truly a great track, perhaps my favorite of yours. so that means download time...and a rating
Forgot to say......rated.
I agree with all the previous comments. I love the break/bridge towards the end. I would have liked to hear one or two 'comic' lyrics in there I think. More enjoyable stuff!
oh well everyone beat me to it...it's early sixties and as good (or better because of modern production)of anything in British pop music of that time. Elements of Beatles, Herman's Hermits, Hollies and I reckon the Beachboys harmonies too. This is First Class and the most rounded song in your collection. You get a nom from me in addition to all else, Martin. Be proud honey!
I like it .........
yeah, I can hear the early beatles and perhaps a little billy joel in there too. Cool piece man, sounds like it was fun to make... keep it up!
Very light hearted, chipper tune. Sounds alot like early Beatles. I picture you guys running through London from a pack of wild teenage chicks... the drummer stumbles on a crack in the sidewalk, falls (looks like that's gonna' leave a mark!) Great, tight tune!
Wow, I wasn't expecting such a nice tune...this is hot!!! Very hot! love those harmonies, toe tappin' music...very smooth! I enjoyed it immensely...ratedx, The Kid
Yeah man ! You did it again ! great honest track. I can see that you would wanna finish this in 1 night. Great choirs, haha, made me feel very good !
Ha great song!..this has BEATLES written all over it!...and thats not a bad thing!...(is that macca on the bass by the way?;)....Excellent bassline melodys. Love the layered harmonies, and vocals are great. Youre best track yet i think. Superb man! Top work! Great writing. Mark

A music lover from Northern Ireland, living in London. Have decided to let the world hear my music, usually crafted in the dead of the night....
My passion is the creative and the song-writing process. I love taking an initial idea and nurturing it, developing it and bringing it to life. I find I haven't the patience for the fine detail of production/mastering etc. I think a good song will always shine through. I'm happy for someone else to add the polish :-)
Anyway, I hope you enjoy what you hear....

Oh by the way...I sing in a chamber choir in Ireland called Codetta. We have sung on TV and Radio(we did the BBC Proms in the Park last year) and have regular concerts. So if you want to hear some decent choral music, we have a website - www.codetta.net . Look forward to seeing you there...you can follow the link in the artist lnks section below.
It's rare enough that I hear a radio friendly track and think, 'WOW this rocks!'. In fact, so rarely does this happen that I remember the last time ery clearly. It was about a year and a half ago and I was driving to a mates stag party when one of the lads in the car popped 'Muse' into the cd player. This track has similar radio bound qualities. Althoug
My first review, in what feels like years, is going to be Martin Gallagher. Track is called, you and Whose Army The track kicks straight off, no hanging around and no over done intro J I’ve listened to this track, quite a few times now and quite a few times before I put the reviews up Martin is one my fav artists on mp3unsigned, it also helps that martins style is mostly in a sty
Well this is the third time around for MP3 Unsigned's Martin Gallagher and I haven't recieved a good kicking yet so I think it is fair to say he isn't related to those other Gallaghers. Stylistically he's a far remove from an Oasis retro remake and owes more to the old standard; credible arrangement, tasteful aural decorations and a trick at writing a catchy song. I admit I liked, very
How can this artist possibly be unsigned!!!!
Unbelievable talent that should not have to work a real job!!!!!
C'mon labels.... are you awake? Hello McFly!
Morning Fantasy by Martin Gallagher is a very enjoyable slice of 60's retro pop. Full of lovely harmonies and melody. You really are transported back to swinging 60's London. Inspired by a friends infatuation with a stranger on the way to work in the mornings Gallagher paints a vivid picture for your imagination to run with. With such a subject there could possibly have been a comical aspect to the
This is the first time I have reviewed Martin Gallagher It’s not the first time I have heard his music. I have heard quite a few tracks on martin’s page and I am happy he has choice this one for me to review, as this is my fav track of his. Vocals and the effex used work so well it reminds me of the stone roses in parts and that can’t be a bad thing. The lyrics are really well written and the
I first came across this contemporary acoustic artist when I reviewed his excellent By Your Side (December 2005), a track to commemorate his father. A track every bit as touching as it sounds and also one of the sweetest acoustic tracks I have heard in a good while - and it's a ballad. What surprised was the quality on display on this track, instrumentally and vocally Martin Gall
Martin Gallagher is a London based Contemporary Acoustic artist. I guess Contemporary Acoustic artists are armed with nothing but a good ol' Acoustic gee-tar. We hip hop heads need thousands of dollars worth of equipment, haha. I ain't too fond with Contemporary Acoustic, but Mr. Gallagher offered "By Your Side" up for review by the Dogg, so I'm gonna be by his side and give
God knows why this is called I'm With You (live) on my version. It caused some cursing for a while before I discovered that it doesn't matter anyway - the music comes across strongly enough that you could have called it Dead Puppy Gizzards and it would still be worth listening to. I've always had a soft spot for Irish musicians ever since I first stumbled across Van Morrison and the in
