Absolutely love your voice. Love the strings. I could listen to this all day.
beautiful
Hi, This is amazing! Love it! Moving and real. Stands out from the crowd. Rated and nominated. Cheers, Smudge from Smudgie
Wow Dawn how did I miss this one. Sorry. Kick a#s tune. Bein of Irish decent, these kinds of tunes hit close to me heart. All buttons pushed me dear.
Great song....and soooo very Scottish(ok, `celtic` then) lol. Nicely played on the Scottish phrasings, which really make the song stand out. Music ...ach well.....Juri is just Juri eh......and this is just another example of his skills. I dunno how u managed to write for this dialect tho Dawn....for `Scottish ryhming slang` would throw ur spelling out id imagine.......and its this point that i rate this song on......soooo clever to pull that issue off when ur not part of that culture. `Weel done lassie` sorry its took so long.
a nice stirring intro which almost had me charging over the border screaming FREEEEEDOM!! Seriously the instumentation is fabulous and the vocal strangely haunting - particularly when the harmonies kick in. There's some really nice sections in here at different tempos and time signatures (I think!) which keep things interesting. Normally the only time I listen to this type of music is at Hogmany (New Year) and I can just hear this song being played as part of the tele coverage as the bells appproach. Good stirring stuff. And refreshing too.
I don't think I had heard this before. Fits right in there with the Celtic styling which I enjoy. We go to a little cafe from time to time where musicians meet and just jam together - Celtic music. Heard a lady sing in the style of Dawn D. before but didn't know that was the way they speak. Quite lovely and rather rich in heritage. I can hear why you all are excited with this one. Fantastic start to finish! :)
hi dawn this is a powerful introduction to a wonderful folk story, yes the track tells quite a story through the lyrics and the instruments and beat is really good and and she has such a nice voice. really nice moving track, enjoyed that with top production. Rated! Matt
Great listen Dawn. Dawn D's vox are top notch and instrusmental interaction is fab. Rated.
nice one folks:) have a spot in my heart where this kind of music just fits right snug - nicely done:)
that last we from the mel half of Stella P;)
Brilliant song. Love the military feel of the drum beat and the vocals are excellent, accent and all. Great lyrics too. This is the best 2 Dawns song I've heard yet. Rated. Craig
Excellent intro, the music is exceptional! Good vocal from Dawn D, and a great lyric from you Dawn. Love the violin break too, very authentic sounding celtic. Loved it, great work all round! Mark
The beginning is very straightforward. And the guitar keeps me enthused. I like that. Good harmony. Those snares really keep the seriousness of the song. My wife would be jealous if she heard me listening to the voice, lol. Even commenting while listening, I can hear the story of the song. The builds are good. The solo I'm in right now makes me want to glitter and hold hands and swing around with someone in a dance. The vocals come in at the right moment and the pace continues very logically. Celtic music isn't really my style but I do like this. It keeps me interested. The pace is nice and smooth and keeps the ensemble going nicely. The ending is a little on the aggressive side in terms of cutting out. All in all it was a good compilation of musical sound. It kept me in a world of enjoyment and it sounded very peaceful. I liked it! Awesome piece of work. Delightful. Have a rate and a great day!
Love this and I saw the wicker man too:) So Great!
I've heard this before......it's a stylish track with perfect vocals and arrangement.........makes me remeber the Wicker Man (one of my favourite films) so it gets my vote. Kevin Mooney
I new Dawn had a twang to her vox and now it all comes clear. Cool song with a nice rock (ish) beat to it. Well done all and share the rates amongst ya.
Wonderful Celtic sound. I agree it deserves a huge audience. A truly classic song.
Heard this on this 2 Dawns album (which is fantastic by the way) and it was already one of my favourites, so glad I have a chance to big it up here :) Have to say I love Dawns genuine Scottish vocal, it's beautifully sung. The fiddle break is awesome as well. Like every aspect of it, the arrangement, the lyric, the vocal. Anyone thinking of getting the cd order a a copy now, it's a lovely achievement to all involved in making it :) Rated and nommed easy :)
Yeah, this is nice! Beautiful performance, Juri, Indrek and Dawn D., and with lyric well suited for this piece Dawn S.! I particularly enjoyed the arrangement and production, and the line "eyes like shards of steel" jumped out and smacked me, Dawn! Well done, all, I'll get busy pushing buttons - rated and nommed from me as well.
This is actually my fav on the album (Which I have a copy) It just smacks Scotland!!Excellent production The lyrics are typically meannt for the piece.Lovely track Dawn well done to All !! Rated and gets a nom from me. Take CAre Andy :)
This has got a nice Clannard feel to it at the beginning with the harmonies and then the beat comes in - Very good piece Dawn(s) Very professional.
I'm a sucker for a celtic folk tune, and the performance of this one makes it is real treat. Great writing as per, and love the melody too. don't think it will be overlooked this times round. Superb!
I am most fortunate to have had a chance to work with some of the most talented musicians on the internet, in many different genres, ranging from pop/rock to light opera. Some of my collaborators include: Juri Rosenfeld, Dawn Diamond, Erik Rosenfeld, Amy Caldwell, Mark Ellis, Boyana Bjoern, Ron Gletherow, Scott Slater, Svenni Bjorgvins, Tom Van Mele (tumc), Wesley De Page, Mark Holley, Mark Alexander, AndyF, Rob Smith, Tony DeLecce, Jim DeLecce, Mykyndred (Mike Round), Deggsy, His Master's Choice (Peo), Mike Azzopardi, Graeme Cammack, Elina Rosenfeld, Allan Bell (Geiger167), David Joel Carter, Craig (Pidgeman) Matthews, Vincent Fidele (Riddle), Dan Michaelson, Tony Miller, Deon Ashton, MoonTurnedBlue(Phil), Guilherme Shroter, Dave Lunbeck, James Clark, Dave (Mezzer) Meredith, KtA, Christy, Terry Wigmore.James Oakwood, Joseph Rodriguez and in production department: James Oakwood, Sal Salvedore and Miush Skirman....and many more instrumentalists and vocalists all of whom have my utmost respect and gratitude. The list keeps growing and if your name's not here and we have collaborated, give me a prod...it's tough keeping up!!
Juri Rosenfeld and I have written many songs together in many genres and with others (most frequently with Dawn Diamond, Amy Caldwell and Erik Rosenfeld) we now have 4 CDs for sale, the latest of which is Coming Home.
Mark Ellis and I have collaborated on over 30 songs together, mostly in the folk/pop genre.
Boyana Bjoern and I have a collection of modern songs that are professionally produced. One of those...Only 17 won the Bubblegum Pop contest in January/February 2016.
And me? I am just happy to go along for the ride. As a lifetime writer, as author, poet and lyricist, writing is in my blood so if you ever need a lyric, let me know.
After months of waiting, our first professionally produced album, entitled Two Dawns One Day is out and I for one am thrilled with the quality of not only the final mix/mastering etc but of the art work and packaging too. There are 15 tracks which include 13 with lyrics by yours truly, 1 lyric is Juri/Dawn Diamond collab and 1 track is instrumental. Martin Gallagher features on the title song and all the other vocals are Dawn's. Only 1 track was not composed or written by Juri and that is the 2 Dawns collaboration of I'll Love You More. Other musicians were involved in the making of this album and the support of family and friends has been tremendous but had it not been for the vision and determination of Juri Rosenfeld, the album would never have materialise ...bless you Juri for I have never been more proud.
As the opening vocals hit my ears I'm struck by the 'Britishness' of the sound. It conveys to me shades of a Ray Davis (The Kinks) composition wise, which immediately warms me to to it. The intro is nicely out of kilter and misleads the listener as to it's true intent. As Amy's vocals ride in you are carried off on a wonderful musical sonjourn. A small crit on my behalf (opinion
I have long been a fan of songwriter Carole Douglas (Bolton Songbank on Soundclick), a very polished and professional composer. There is nothing I like better than a great song, and given that there are millions of musicians around us, there are very few songwriters. Finding the two Dawns (Sinclair and Diamond) on MP3 Unsigned has been a big pleasure and I look forward to their new col
I was only thinking to myself the other day that I had reviewed loads of Dawn Sinclair tracks but always by other people, which is not really the same thing at all. As you can gather, Dawn is a lyricist/songwriter whose tracks do have a certain something about them, all least the collabs I have come across anyway. We are talking about LOTS of those here. Dawn has worked with Dawn
First off, I have got to make it clear that I think this is an absolutely awesome piece of music, despite the few very minor faults I shall be noting below. The girls have genuinely done themselves very proud on this one and I found this track to be thoroughly relaxing and enjoyable to listen to. Any's voice is delightful and the harmonies are simple ear candy. Anyway, down to the nit
Dawn Sinclair will be a very familiar name to most regular users of Mp3Unsigned. Dawn is a lyricist who has worked with a great many artists on the site, myself included, and in very many different genre's of music. The 'Team', as Dawn likes to call it, on this track consists of Amy Caldwell, Dawn Diamond on guitar and of course Dawn Sinclair providing the lyrics. The mix on this version has
Well, this one is the best of the best from our two talented Dawn's. The lyric is heartfelt and poignant, as Dawn Sinclair knows only too well how to do. The melody, performance and simple arrangement by Dawn Diamond is exquisite. This one was a joy to the ears.
Thanks gals!
My commnet section says it all. Real nice work.
2Dawns1Day By Dawn Sinclair featuring Martin Gallagher. What was it about The Beatles? Why do songs that are merely influenced by them still sound so powerful, so emotive? I have no idea. You must have an opinion of sorts, assuming you even like the band, that is. This is definitely one of those powerfully emotive songs, with a strong sense of that classic sound running deep within. Rig
Dawn Sinclair, where to start with her! Dawn is a different kettle of fish to the majority of artists on the site, as she is a lyricist. She does not perform on any of her tracks, so as you can see different to most people here. But ever since she has arrived she has shown what a prolific song writer and collaborator she is. Gathering around herself a group of 5 or 6 musicians a
Dawn Sinclair - Teach Me like A Child Latin music. My only experience of latin music made by someone who isn't actually latin is limited. The late Kirsty MacColl and, err... That's it, I guess. The best way I can safely describe this track, overall, is shiny. Shiny, happy, fresh, uplifting and gleaming like polished silver. I can really sit back and relax when music like this is on the radio
Wow! Teach Me Like a Child is a joy to listen to. Dawn Sinclair clearly has a gift for the written word and it is exploited beautifully in this song. The lyrics should speak to anyone who has lost the innocence and wonderment of viewing the world as a child does where their thoughts roam wild and free. It's a great reminder for any of us who have be
Alessandra is a track by Juri Rosseneld accompanied by Chris Maxwell featuring the vocals written by Dawn Sinclair. First off, i am rating with a 7 equaling an average radio quality track by a professional. The first thing that cathces my ear on this track is the musicmanship. It is very strong. timing is spot on, vocals are delivered brilliantly. Chris Maxwell is an extre
I WISH THERE WAS A CD AVALIABLE OF THIS GIRLS WORK, RATHER THAN A SITE. IT SEEMS VERY CLEAR TO ME THAT THIS SONG AS WELL AS ALL THE OTHER TRACKS, HAVE A DEFINATIVE EDGE WHICH IS SUPERIOR TO SOME OF THE CURRENT MUSIC AVALIABLE. THE GREAT EMPHASIS ON FEEL, IS WELL NOTED IN MY BOOK. THE INSTRUMENTATION ALONE COULD HOLD INTEREST, AND WHOEVER MIXED THIS, KNOWS A THING OR TWO ABOUT PRODUCTION VALU
THIS TO ME, IS PURE ART, AND I LOVE IT.
