First off, I have got to make it clear that I think this is an absolutely awesome piece of music, despite the few very minor faults I shall be noting below.

The girls have genuinely done themselves very proud on this one and I found this track to be thoroughly relaxing and enjoyable to listen to.

Any's voice is delightful and the harmonies are simple ear candy.  Anyway, down to the nitty gritty I suppose.....

The acoustic guitar intro felt ever so slightly out of time to me, to be honest.  It doesn't really detract from the enjoyment of the track in any noticable way, but it was certainly a minor glitch.  Slightly more glitchy was the acoustic gutiar solo.  This is what cost this song points in musicianship.  The timing is certainly not the best, the melody very basic and predictable, and the actual guitar sound showed little difference, if any, to the main acoustic guitar on the track.

The vocal performance is pretty much flawless.  The odd ocassion where one of the harmonies is slightly flat, but its only noticable if you actually listen to it really, really closely.  Not a major thing at all and could easily be ironed out with incredibly light use of autotune, but that is being incredibly picky.  Overall, the vocal performance is the highlight of the track for me.

The mix has its moments both good and bad.  Generally, the mix is exceptional, however at times the harmonies are a little too loud and perhaps there is slightly too much reverb on the vocals.  The acoustic gutiars sound a bit flat-toned in the lower registers, but that could be down to the age of the strings or any other number of things.  I could also hear the click track at the end when the guitar started to fade out, and that kind of spoiled things a bit, but again, that's easily enough sorted out.

The lyrics are certainly not Dawn's best effort, nor are they her worst effort.  A perfectly acceptable lyric that lends itself to a nice melody.  The thing I liked best about the lyric is the distinct lack of cliche and the way that they lend themsleves to being sung.  Rhythmic poetry, and I cannot find any fault here whatsoever.

Overall, as I said at the start, yes I found a few really picky niggles with this track, yes I'm probably being over critical but when you get right down to, it's a damned good song and nothing can take that away from it.  I can pretty much gurantee you that I'll be back to listen to this song more than once more today. Genuine piece of mp3u class.
