what a treat it is to hear this fine music, a well done production makes it honey for the ears. Enjoyed this very much Vin
Love the production on this track - one or two very mior tuning issues on the vox - but way improved. Nice and clear too, very easy to make out the lyrics. Nice simple guitar line and lovely synth adds a sense of space to the whole piece. Good job Peter and Billy, gets a rate.
really gentle to vibe to this. as said before, maybe more variation could help take it somewhere else. very relaxing.
Mellow and soothing, yet sad in a way. Really like the melody, sounds a bit high for a male vocal, but very well carried to the end, didn't hear the original, but very good production in this one. rated :D
Indeed a very simple and delightfully mellow guitar line. What I like about this are the subtle changes in pace throughout. I know I ain't one to talk ;-) but I have to agree that the vox could use tidying up here and there, but the vocal style reminded me of Peter Nichols(?) (IQ) somewhat and does suit the gentle flow. Nice stuff.
Peter this is wonderful! Love the intro a lot. Nice string synth. I was waiting for the variation in the music and expecting some more energy. But it is a simple track and an enjoyable one. Take Care Andy :)
Like the improvements to the overall sound, nice clear prod, I think this could as has been noted below be vastly improved by a middle section, and some further embellshments with acoustic or something..but its all been said below, but it still remains a very nice track..which personally I would redo the vocs a well... but I think it could be a real cracker with a bit of work..anyway very nice mix though, and enjoyed the ambience etc
Lovely intro, like you say, vocals start out a bit grating, but improve in places, then fall off again. I think this would be a great Metal tune, if you broke into some real heavy stuff at 2:43, then came back to this mellow bit again in the end. I like your heavier stuff the most.
i think this would sit among other tracks very well on an album...i agree if it was just a one off track then maybe it would need a change some were...but i see this more as a track between tracks....there for its perfect :) i love your stuff anyways as you know... so I'm seeing the bigger picture...great performance all round...:)
The chord progression and synths are quite nice to this. However, the track is unbelievably repetitive. Six and a half minutes with no change in melody, no chorus, no solo, nothing whatsoever. Really, after one minute you have pretty much heard the whole track. The verses aren't bad as they are but really need to be shortened and something else put in to break up the monotany. Craig
I still feel that there is a missing element somewhere because there are no surprises except in the lyric department (it's such a sombre story that the final verse was a surprise because all of a sudden, the guy is over his lost love which is contrary to the rest of the song)I guess the end music would need to reflect that change of heart to make it really stand-out for me.
Very nice, simple, sung from the heart type of track, the basic backing actually grew on me a bit the second time round, could easily be fleshed out or not, doesn't really matter, lovely track whatever form it is in :) Rated
A very cool and breezy track guys. Simple and beautiful. Lovely vox and lyrics. Rated easily guys. Barry
Might be an idea to slap some light auto-tune onto the vocal to help prevent wavering. I agree with Richard about a slight treble boost on the guitars. Would sound great with a nice Takamine or Ovation acoustic too. Strings are really nice. Good tune. Thumbs up.
Yip...very nice! Nice and bare bones! Strings sounding nice and rich! Guit might need a bit of a treble boost! Small stuff! Very enjoyable chilled listen!
This is an emotive strong track, feel production could be improved a little, the track has so much potential! Very sweet and an enjoyable listen. Because of that I rate this, will listen out if there is any further work done on this track. Well worth it! Sonya Stewart.
the intro grabbed me immediately, very haunting and i knew i was in for a treat. very simplistic yet very good. I would personally have put more of a reverb effect on the vocal. the vocal is pretty good, just needs tideied up in one or two places but that said you have a great meoldy going on there. though the lyrics were good too. an easy rate.
2nd listen from ages ago and I've rated it cos it is very beautiful. Yeah I agree it could do with some changes dude but it's so hard going back to an old track and redoing it i find
beautiful lyrics - and beatuiful music and melody...vox very emotive - would have liked to hear the vox closer in my ear warm - like. excellent song:-)
I kinda agree that a short change in there would change it up a bit, but this is very well done... great work all around...
Like it , beautiful melodic rock.Nice vocs, with probably just about the right amount of effect for the trippy structure of the song, good lyrics, well produced and some nice guitar work, which blends nicely with the strings etc. Quite long but kept my interest most of the way, perhaps a little change somewhere in there might have lifted it a bit, but doesn't detract from this song too much.. Yep enjoyed this, nice.
Delicate and subtle...sadness tinged with a sense of hope (ooh get her)...nice guitar riff...keys add to the dreamy effect Personally i'd re-eq the guitar in the upper registers and bring out the resonance of the strings...keys could do with a tad more delay here and there to really trip us out... Vocals are well done and sit nicely in the mix, perhaps the addition of a seperate melody would add another layer and keep up the listener interest.... Overall this is very nice tho...
Lovely, just what it said on the tin and more. Clearly a winner on all fronts. I expect to see great things of this track. Well Done. Rated. Barry
this is really nice.. i like the retro feel on the recording.. and the vocals/effex are very nice....i think the backing track complements them very well...very nice strings...and cool old skool feel on the axe work :) dreamy stuff guys... i think this is a very good vocal performance thumbs up
Very emotive & a powerful ballad, synths sounds great, overall enjoyed my listen so a rating for you sir :)
Relaxing and emotional - good subtle vocals, guitar and synth. Can hear in my mind maybe a higher vocal harmony mid-way, followed by a 3 part harmony... There goes my mind again... This is really pretty as it is though! A fine collaboration! :) Carol Sue & ~CarEss~
Got some beauty to the track for sure. I tried to play along but it's not tuned exactly to the nearest semitone. Is it Billy singing Peter?
I am really glad to see this song, it has been a favourite of mine for a long time. I am pleased that it is finally out and about. absolutely beautiful song Billy, Great Work!
I set sail on seas of sorrow....this alliterative line really shows me Billy (if I was not already aware) that you are a poet....I am looking forward to reading the whole lyric. This is a little bit repetitive in the music department but the vocals are absolutely beautiful and a always I love your lyrics. Rated.
The weaving quality of the music is delightfully magical. I heard it and got an internal image of a living creature. It must mean that THIS is what it is to be really alive. I am absolutely destroyed by the creativity and supurb talent displayed here. Billy Fogg is a genius with his skill. I love ALL his work! Fantasy is always a good place to begin a plea
FOGG is a cunning songwriter and an excellent performer. The sheer romance of this piece just takes my breath away. The sentiment is obvious as well as the skill. Billy has put passion at the centre of this piece. I found listening to this to be a delightful experience. Beautiful Work, well executed and I certainly believe it would be commercially viable.
