Loves Light
Love the arpeggio in the beginning of the song, and the chimes too, that's my favorite part. This is a very nice song!
This is truly a beautiful piece of music..Deborah has such an excuisite voice..and both vocals work well together. I wish you every success with this project.
The vocal by deborah on this track is nothing short of astonishing, her voice is Angelic and range is incredible, im not entirely sure her talent lies in "The Musical" scene, but time will tell. My automatic reaction to hearing her was one of, thats a voice that could sell singles and one that would suit a love ballad theme tune of any large hollywood production,i.e someone to takeover from "celines" Titanic.... As a bit of a mans man and on occassion a little egotisticle i find it difficult to see the apparent beauty in certain things but not so with deborah, i wish her the best for the future and look forward to hearing much much more.
Deb, your vocal floats through this track, superb voice control, sound... and truly wonderful production and arrangement from the rest of the DARD crew. Easy rate.
You all are so very gifted. This is beautiful!
beautiful piece of music! great job on this guys! rated. mark
Thought I recognized Deborah's voice.. :) Fantastic job on this one! Sound quality is rather nice.. Love the classic style mixed with the modern synths here and there.. :) Great production on this.. ;) There is one small critic I have.. The male vocal is a little piercing for me.. It sounds too strong and hard compared to Deborah's softer voice.. BUT.. That's just me.. ;) Still a great track overall.. :) Nice Work! ;) .:Dacheleigh:.
As a musical songwriter myself I know the problems you can face and the fun of it all. Great work all around. The melody is wonderful. The piano is awesome. The lyrics are smashing. The vocals are intamate. Great work. I have a few production quips that I would bring up in regards to the vocal timing fitting in with the lyrics.I also think that the first verse of Alec is not quite as strong image/lyrically as the other verses. I say this only pro to pro. If you would like my ideas then pm me. Love it no matter what!
awesome performance.
This immediately has the feel of a musical about it.I'm no expert on the genre but itcompares favourably with what I've heard. Good luck with it.
At last I have the time to listen to this properly!! Fantastic lyrics - very beautiful. I really hope this makes Broadway. It is unusual to hear the songs from a musical - until it is performed on the stage - so this is a treat. Deborah's vocals shine as usual - and I really, really enjoyed the listen. Great.
yes good that scene setting before the lyric. It is a very good "musical" song, perfect melodically for that em..genre ;-/ Nice instrumentation, and vocals are excellent, nice harmonies etc, Deborahs vocals are fab as always, and Andy you do a grand job as well.. good lyrics..very enjoyable, and well done all involved
Wow what a lovely track, sugar to the ears. Production sounds fantastic, can't help but smile listening to this. You will surely do v well with this, well done!
Vivid! I enjoyed the stage direction as much as the song itself, nice seeing a concept fleshed out like this. Production and performances are every bit as good as I've come to expect from this crew; I am curious though, about the demographic this is intended for. While some adults might find this type of material endearing, and I confess, I'm one of them, it brings Disney animated film scores to mind, especially with this "love at first sight" theme. With the right kind of marketing, I could see this doing extremely well...
Personally, i thought the scene setting narrative was a lovely little touch. It certainly brought the song to a certain perspective, and position within the musical as a whole. Musically, this is as good as it gets for me. Wonderfully structured track, lifts and falls in all the appropriate places. Simple, but always the most effective of chord progressions. The voice of Debs comes as no surprise to me, just the best singer ive heard in a long time. But, the surprise to me is the voice of Mr F himself...and a big well done to you on that.......respect mate. I think this is worthy of a few buttons, and sits well enough in the `musical` scene to be given due credit.
Isn't it AndyF singing Dawn? The blurb implied it was Andy. Anyway dead cool song and has that "musical" feel to it. Good production too. Rated
So sorry for calling you Richard, Denis...I was thinking of another lyricist when I was writing that...call me blonde!! Rated for the pleasure of listening :)
Phrasing is difficult at times and I have a problem with the overall theme because both characters are describing what they are doing, which may be necessary in a song but not in a visual art like a musical. Anna tells us she is walkign down the street...we can see her doing that...same with smiling at people she meets...this is self-evident in musical Likewise, the guy says he is travelling etc. The characters don't need to narrate. Is this me being picky? I don't think so, or if I am it's because you guys seem serious about writing a musical and you need to be aware early on that it's totally different from writing songs. I do take in as many musicals as I can over the years and I've never heard this kind of narration in the songs before. Sounds great though, both musically and vocally, and Richard's also got some terrific lines in his lyrics. And by the way, if you are just doing it for fun, then ignore my remarks because this does sound very very nice.
Very nice Guys! Compelling performance and the writing and construction of the song is great! Difficult vocal passages in there, particularly towards the end during the duet section. couple of spots where they're the parallel vocal parts waiver in the phrasing, but I dont think it deters from the quality of the track, and actually on second listen those spots dont bother me at all. great track Dard, rated for sure, all other treats are gone, I'll catch that next round
Production and vocal performances are very good. Like many 'musical' songs this has a rigid melody for the vocals that sometimes makes the phrasing seem unnatural, but for the genre it is well done. Rated. Craig
Just read the lyrics section for the play. This is something that has always astounded me. How people great great musicals that I have been fortunate enought to see many on BW. Keep your hopes high. It may or may not make BW (few do and some of them shouldn't), but I suspect it will be enjoyed by many when and wherever it is performed. DM
Always got to listen to a new one from Dard. Just another grand and beautiful song. All of you guys are just top notch!. Rated and be back to nom but I know that is not what you all are about. Just love your musical creations. The songs always are not only refreshing to the ears, but always have the that special way of creating wonderful visual images which is really special....THanks
Hi Andy & all, yes mix perfect to my ears, and well done andy on the vocals, & of course debs vocals really brill - lovely melody & story. I am sure this will be a high charter for you all. Well done again, rated & the other! Sonya Stewart.
At first I thought Dard productions was a new name to me (as indeed it is), but I've since discovered a couple of familiar names are part of it. Essentially Dard Productions consists of four musicians from Canada, the US and Europe; Denis Couture, Rick Roman, Andrew Foyston (better known as AndyF) and Deborah Ivri. I have, of course, reviewed loads of AndyF tracks and even encountered
