Dawn Sinclair - Teach Me like A Child

Latin music. My only experience of latin music made by someone who isn't actually latin is limited. The late Kirsty MacColl and, err... That's it, I guess.

The best way I can safely describe this track, overall, is shiny. Shiny, happy, fresh, uplifting and gleaming like polished silver.

I can really sit back and relax when music like this is on the radio (which is a place I can see this tune, especially on Radio 2, of which I am an avid listener when driving around at work), without feeling the need to change channels, but to someone with slightly offbeat sensibilities like mine (I'm not bragging, honest!), it's easy to lose concentration.

Other people who do actually have an interest in styles of music like this (and there's plenty of them out there) will surely find this track to be addictive, the easily accessible melodies combined with comfortably written, slightly generic but beautifully sung lyrics serve to add strength to the track in this respect. This track truly has commercial appeal.

Everything within the mix is set to the correct level, nothing jumps out at you and nothing is faded too far back to make you strain to hear.

All in all, a relaxing, yet uplifting song that deserves repeated listens, from an artist who's speciality is true diversity, certainly a welcome sight in this day and age.
