Sounds like you guys know what you're doing!
Love this tune and the vibe overall. THANKS
Absolutely love this song. Nuff said :)
As has been said, the hook draws you in from the start. Good mix of vocals. Great orchestration.
Love you guys!! Tearin it up still!

my favourite shed song untill ye de-powered it.now only my 2nd fav.i think it lacks a bit of oomph now, but still a great song.
Just top class!
Sweet stuff! A bit of the Smiths in there at times. Love the backing vocals a lot, they lift the vocals up. Very enjoyable track.
I think I've lost track of the mixes. lol . As with all our stuff we are still in the mixing faze so don't be scared of the mix. We're just experimenting with different elements.
hey guys, still a great tune, but i got to admit i liked the original mix better. the original sounded fuller to me. seems as if the vocals have been redone. its hard to improve on perfection, which is what the original reached with me. so officially i endorse the original, but this is lovely and gets a shiny nom
Like Alan says...intro hooked me right away. Great hooks. Love the vocals...wish I could do orchestration like this. Backups are awesome. Thanks for letting me listen...great work!! Rated!!!
Nice track, I like this origanal version, very smooth. Nice harmonys and great vocals all round. Gets my rate!
I have only heard this version. Makes me think of U2 a bit (but way better). Nice stuff. Nicked a d/l too. Have a rate and nomm guys!
i hate it :P sorry guys, this mix does nothing for me. the original is 100 times better, hope you dont mind but this sounds like a watered down version
Hear the change in the intro ....backwards vocals ;) Its all sounds fantastically smooth....lead vox just brilliant....Have a nom why not!! Kevin Mooney.
Intro hooks you in, very good. Nice melody and understated presentation is very cool. Really like how the vocal kick it up toward the end. Very nice listen. Rated.
Had a listen to the RS remix of this and thought I'd come back an revisit.. WTF ?? Where are MY comments ??? B*ll*cks!!! Kin PC (the old one).. Ok Can't totally remember what I wrote but it went something like ......... This one sticks in your head long after the song has finished so much so that when you hit the play button again it's a continuation of what keeps singing in your head. 'What are you listening to laaaa te ly' A killer hook line .. There is some injustice that this isn't being played on national radio stations around the country. Long Live The Shed !!! 'Kin superb
Third time here again for me, love this track...
I like this one, it has a simple but very catchy hook.
It's been a while. Came by to see if you have any new songs I have missed. Get some more posted will ya! Also wondering how Elsie is doing? Take care now and hope to hear some more of your tunes soon! Carol Sue :)

Beautiful song guys. The climax ('what are you listening to lately') of the song gives you a real rush, wish it could have gone on and on. I can hear it live, going into a really uplifing instrumental. Superb work. Really original sounding voice too - very distinctive. It's a pleasure coming back to this site and hearing this. Ratings and Noms all the way. Martin

Msieu Redshirt thanks alot for the kind words and by all means work away on a remix.Look forward to hearing it...! Thankyou very much to everyone for your comments, we appreciate them all !
I'm still trying to figure out whose kid brother Tony is!!!...yet the comments are strangely...apt..
seriously now lads.. I just cant get that song out of my head. Especailly the chorus.. ....what have you done for me laAAATely what have you dONe for me LaAAAATEly your ....ing wrong... such resentment.. anger and smouldering violence encapsulated in a radio friendly ditty.. its like punk rock screaming headlong into Liberache and beating his fucking brains all over the shop, yet liberache still ends up tickling punk rocks balls and giving him a good fisting!! brilliant lads.. fuckin' brilliant!..keep up the good work!!
grat stuff ......... chris maxwell
Haharrr!Cheers Tony-you haven't lost them!!:D
{:-|}?
Stunning.. simply stunning! The singer croons and preens like a siren lamenting her fallen prince or possible a man who has not had sex for a long time. The guitarist strums and caresses the fret board as if fingering a very beautiful man. The rest of them are barely competent. These guys are going to be big.. 'Belouis Some' big..
talent to burn!...the singer has a smouldering tone waiting to burst.....technically excellent!
Thanks To everyone for Voting and Nominating this for the Charts. I shall continue 'avinalook at everyones pages. Cheers ROG ;)
nice arrangments that make this track awsome !!!!
Congratulations! #3 in the charts! You are a talent! :) Carol Sue
spot on
Yea this is different, but still great. Production is spot and i disagree with Tom about the listening to lately, there just fine, sometimes you have to/ or want to hammer a lyric home, nowt up with that. The chords around the been so long are very catchy and id say its like the signature of the song. Great vocals! R n N!
Very nice, like the background strings in this one a lot. Song structure and builds in the music are great, well done, one of my fave's from the shed!
this is a great song guys....great all round production....enjoyable listen. brill
another quality shed production. different from what else ive heard from you guys. The vocals are sung perfectly. and the backing track is amazing. I really like the chime sound, a real nice tocuh. Top notch production to. Does this deserve my last nom? hmmm i think so! Great track guys.
GOOD TRACK Lead vocalist has a really great voice...reminds me of the some of the better vocalist in the 80s. I enjoyed this.
"what are you listening to lately". that is a really amazing part.
somehow ended up back here, love it! tried to rate it but guess i already did !
i guess you can only get this sound recording naked,lol...very different from your other stuff, softer and some 80's feeling. like the chord progression on the words "been so long", very effective. good harmony vocals and very elaborate arrangement. "what are you listening to lately" is repeated too often for my liking, the "been so long" part not often enough. that's my two cents.
Well Herbert you know there is no smoke without fire. ;)
Is it true that the Shed record naked to improve the purity of their recordings?
what up Roque?? 1st of all man..thank you SO much for your support on the 'Patna Please' track..your comments and nominations really helped us out..u legend. Man, this track sounds beautiful..this reminds me so much of 'The Dandy Warhols'..I really am getting that vibe that they dish out too. I wanna answer your question in the track too..loadsa things mate lol. The production on this track is of a very high standard..sounds like its out the studio matey..not a bedroom set-up (reckon you could get a four piece in your bedroom along with drums??). I have used all ofmy chart nominations..but you will recieve one next week from me..i'm sorry if thats too late, but it will be with you fellas. Crackin track, peace.
Excellent little number. I can see it being sung to a group of enthusiastic kids. Nice one-ah.
Yahoo my first for hearing an irish band...If I didnt come from scotland I,d want to come ireland as there is an abundance of talent over there was in donegal for a weekend and got the socks blew of me with the live talent they have..dunno why your unsigned as it sound as good as any mainsteam folk/rock/indie it could go on but in all honesty im glad ive found ya,s awesome stuff guys...hope you all have a good pint/What kind of wine? on the rascals. rated for obvious reason
Very nice surprise! (not just the gnome on your front page) :) Great sound - production - song - performers - Everything! Way to go! :) Carol Sue
a different angle from the shed that im use to. who this singing its great. you guys would be really fun to see live and have a few beers. i like the title of your band "eclectic mix of music and styles". i think this song epitimizes that.ratings.
yes well this should be in the charts this week for sure. i will be away so i will miss it, but i hope everyone will nominate this song. for me this band are up there with the best on this site, and im sure they have shown there support to pretty much everyone :)give em some love i know ya wanna ;)
Lovely song, very atmospheric, real talent. Good luck boys. Kelster, aka
oooo it's Steve Harley again...amazing to have so many wonderful vocalists in one band and to also have top notch musicians who are brilliant songwriters...I just know that it's just a matter of time til we hear you on our radios and see u on the tv..at least we'll be able to say...hey we knew u when... First class and gotta nom this one.
I am almost afraid to listen anymore. Cause I know I will hear it soon everywhere. I have never seen a band come so far in such a short time. You have found your musical path and it is wonderful. This song has some glorious changes and background noises. The backing voxs are nice. Great job boys.
Hey guys thanks for the comments. Much appreciated. I'm away for a few days so will be checking out ye're stuff soon!!
As ever, an excellently produced track. Lovely feel good music, with nice vocals. Liking it. ONAGER
Production sounds good. Doing good stuff guys, keep it up. Always merits a listen.
Love the shed...nice song very moving...on my sterio the kick is a hair loud...other than that its perfect, maybe its my gear, don't know, love the ending!
I really like the backing, from the start hooked me. Melody is great as always, vocals sound good to me, and really like the backing vocs as well. I cant find fault the overall production, everything seems well balanced to me, strings, bass, drums all good! Nice job lads... Well done!!!!
from the first notes to the last - so professional - great sound - very well layered and good use of fading sounds in and out and each layer is selective. One for the charts methinks.
its like xmas :) i have a new shed d/l really cool track guys, love the vocals. i hear u2 as well in parts of the second half of the track, love the effex @ the end dam this is good :) im sure i will come back and comment more, just the football has just kicked off second half. rates are in and the big one got pressed so jobs a good un :)
Excellent track guys!...Youve kept up the top quality form the same as ur others with this one! And thats not so easy! Great production. Love the subtle string section. Vocals are great, and especially love the sound and playing of the bass. Has the feel of Springsteen meets U2! EXCELLENT! Oh and im going to download it too;) cheers... Mark

"The Shed blew a great many people away last year with their capacity for churning out great rock licks combined with a pop songwriting style that defies description. They also gave me a Track Of The Year and narrowly missed snagging my Artist Of The Year award in a year of some truly incredible competition. So, yeah, I like them" Steve Gilmore, MP3UNSIGNED / http://rebelriffs.blogspot.com/
Following their eponymous debut in 2007, The Shed return with a new collection of 13 tracks entitled 'Goldfish Love'. As the album title would suggest a somewhat skewed perspective is emitted through the fish-eyed lens of this six-piece from Cork. Over the course of 60 minutes the band traverses what seems like familiar ground but often turns out to be something unexpected including a road trip that ends in alien abduction [The Cliffs], an homage to the inventor of the lava lamp [Craven Walker], the guilty pleasures of homemade jam [Rory’s Homemade Jam], the serenity of eternal love [Goldfish Love], self-immolation [Wildfire], social networking satire [Friends on MySpace], an urban mystic [The Weatherman] and the ages of man [7 Songs]. Add to this The Shed’s ear for an array of musical styles from dreamy pop to indie punch; acoustic folk to a healthy dose of cosmic wig outs and you’ve got a creamy aural concoction ripe for ingestion.
The album was engineered in Cork by Finny Corcoran at BPM Studios.
Mastering was done by world reknowned Masterer Bob Katz of Digital Domain in Florida.
The song "Goldfish is a lot like Ravel’s Bolero....the hypnotic crescendo ....it’s a nice song that builds to an intense punk rock level peak and starts in folk music land" Bob Katz
"The Shed's first album was good but this new one is brilliant!"

Goldfish Love was launched at the Savoy Theatre in Cork on Friday June 4th, 2010.
The Shed -Craven Walker- Download Single Release Track : Craven Walker from Goldfish Love Album (released June 2010) The Shed release the fist single from their new Goldfish Love Album, in honour of the 10th anniversary of Lava Lamp inventor Edward Craven Walker. The track is being released on Sunday August 15th 2010 . Craven Walker is available to download in the following stores: http://www.downloadmusic.ie/theshed/craven-walker http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/TheShed3 http://www.itunes.com/theshedAbout Craven Walker (info from Wikipedia): Edward Craven Walker (July 4, 1918 – August 15, 2000) was the inventor of the Lava Lamp. War Record Craven was a pilot in World War II, flying a DeHavilland Mosquito over Germany to take photographs from an unarmed plane. He met his first wife, Marjorie Bevan Jones, at an air base where she was with the WAAF. Craven continued flying after the war. The Astro Lamp After the war Craven developed an idea he had in a country pub. The pub had a contraption made by a regular who had since departed, a one-off device consisting of an egg-timer and a lightbulb. While it was rudimentary, Craven saw potential and set about perfecting it. He set up a lab in a small shed where he mixed ingredients in bottles of different shapes and sizes. He discovered the best container was a Tree Top Orange Squash bottle and its shape defined the Astro Lamp. Craven set up a company to produce the lamps, naming it Crestworth. Operating from small buildings on an industrial estate in Poole, Dorset, Crestworth supplied the world with lamps for 40 years. They were a success through the 1960s, symbolic of psychedelia. Craven said, "If you buy my lamp, you won't need drugs... I think it will always be popular. It is like the cycle of life. It grows, breaks up, falls down and then starts all over again".Naturism Walker was a naturist, setting up his own camp at Matchams in Hampshire. It became one of the largest in the United Kingdom. Film Work Craven combined film with naturism. In the 50s and 60s nudity in film was taboo but he evaded censors by not showing pubic hair. As a result he became a pioneer in this genre. Under the pseudonym Michael Keatering, Craven directed the naturist film Travelling Light (1959). This was the first naturist film to receive public release in the UK. Described as an underwater ballet, it was shot off Corsica and released in 1960. He later produced Sunswept (1961) and Eves on Skis (1963). Death Toward the end of the 1990s, Craven battled with cancer. He died at Matchams in Ringwood, Hampshire and was buried in a small cemetery in the New Forest. He was 82.
good work
Seeing as I spend the whole year pandering to you bastar... um people, I think I deserve to take some time and listen to what I want to listen to - just for a change. Although this has come up on the MP3 Unsigned review list this month, I had already decided that I wanted to start off the New Year reviews with me ould mates from the Emerald Isle; The Shed. In case you have spent the la
It's been a dogs age since I last went in The Shed, so I'm gonna deviate from the normal list here for a minute and play catch up with one of my favourite bands this year. Right now I have all four of the tracks from their MP3 Usigned page nestled away on my hard drive where they have stayed and more than likely take up residence. They've been well quiet though since the furore surroun
The shed, where to start. They have a very professional sound. I've listened to these guys for a long time now, and this might possibly be my favorite track of theirs. criticisms: only one, wasnt too keen on the chime in the begining, but then throughout the song it goes down in the mix, and adds a lot Positives: What really gets me about this song, is the vocals. It s
i think this was a very good track...this is not even my preferred genre of music however it was very good.
This song reminds me of the sesame street theme song I so loved growing up in Stockholm, however all the musicians sound drunk and the singer is definately stoned. The bass sounds like it was done by a 40 year old wanna be session musician who didn't quite make it. All the backing vocals are drugged and slightly seedy. I wonder is there a sexual angle to all these men getting together in their she
Regular readers will know that I DO like a lot of stuff I hear but it takes a rare event to get me really throwin' me toys out of me pram and when I reviewed The Shed's 'The Parson, The Pauper etfekkincetra' (April 2006) I gotta to admit to even foaming at the mouth. Right now, The Shed look like having a terrific year because right behind this classic track comes a shedload more, if you'll
They say truly great songs capture your attention within the first 10 seconds. Well, The Shed's All Moist At A Bad Party does just that. Right from the glorious opening guitar riff to the genius first line "Don't touch me there it might be construed as innappropriate" you know you're in for a treat. Quite simply, The Shed are in a league of their own when it comes to humour and wor
This is the first time I have reviewed The Shed man what a treat I have had with my reviews this month. This track for me is one that I can play and play and play and not get bored with, and I do believe me. this track as had major kaneage. The vocals have been the highlight for me or more the lyrics. The use of effex on the vocals is amazing and very well done. Some really cool riffage
Good guitar sounds here on the acoustic and vocals and lmelody that slightly remind me of Led Zeppelin on "Hangman" and other tracks of theirs. Good track well sung and played.
What a great feel good song...excellent!
No prizes for guessing where this artist gathers inspiration and does the music making, the only question I would want answering is what kind of shed we are talking about. Is it shed as in garden shed (peculiarity of the British Isles btw) or is it shed as in the football term shed? Enquiring minds want to know. I suspect it's garden shed because it would be a good place to get a
Oh yes, foot tapping and hours of fun, i really love this song. Instantly you get a warm and happy vibe from the song, it really is so nice to see tracks like this one being produced. I could honestly listen to this all day its that damm good. Right at the start the harmonica gives it an instant punch of fun, and set you up for a song that really does tell a story. This is a song that wou
Well, this is not a style that I am accustomed to listening to, ....much..... I began dancing like a nut in a pub as this track went on, very catching,....not me dancing, the song. The recording is better then most I have heard in this genre, here or anywhere, everything clean, clear, vocals sound very well recorded, and the mention of Canada was just great, sonce I am canadian, living in
"Like a cross between the Divine Comedy and Lynyrd Skynard visiting the Pogues " That was my first comment upon hearing this track when it was first put up, and on the whole, I'd stand by that! This is a quality, foot stomping, get the blood moving, fast moving track. As soon as the track starts your foot starts going to the catchy tune, the musicianship is brilliant, and the band perform
