nice track...love the closeness of the vocal.... nice transition between verse and chorus
Great voice on this track. Reminds me of Mark Knopfler or Chris Rea. I enjoyed listening to this.
Absolutely first class. Love this track, especially the vocals. Nice work

Sounding great. kevin mooney
caught this in the charts, i remember this one, and still am loving it.
Cool sounding vocals -Chris Rhea style (Road to Hell) but this is more contemporary sounding. Great relaxed vibe to the song and a catchy vocal hook for the chorus. Gets a rate from me!
back again - this is soundin sooo schweet:-) This one of favs of yours- excellent track:-)
Ahh, that's fine! I like what you've done with this simple progression, huge points to the arranger and producer. Great job with the vox, I love'em way out front and that cello (?) guitar break was inspired. Rated.
sometimes, when u get tired of all that hits, bangers and playas, a man has 2 listen some light, easy going music (the perfect music 4 todays rainy day), good music is alway good music ! and yours is pretty good ! dB
Wow..what a class track guy's, despite me commenting on it before, I don't remember being as tasty as this...the vocal performance is quality and everything just feels/sounds right, great production, really enjoyed my visit :)
hmm i have to say i love melancholy in music, this has it in droves..certainly my favourite track on here. Atmospheric bliss..rated without any hesitation
good listen m8y, got chris rea vibe.. love the beat.. very atmo indeed. rated!
2nd listen and what a great track - I remember it from last year. Bob Katz eh? Nah he's crap hee hee. His book on mastering is poo lol!!!! A read and a half really and inspired me. Back to the music boys. What can I say other than I'll press rate again but I don't think it'll work xx
Very distinctive vocals, backing music sounds very proffesional! Really like the guitars in this, would change the volumes on a couple of things, but other than that this is great. Also, good luck with the album, its a really nice feeling finishing one, trust me :P
Good stuff! A very haunting feel to it...nice vibe! Great vocals and harmonies. Rated!! =D
Back for another listen, what stands out to me in this track is the crystal clear production and that great guitar work. Really great track guys, have you released the album yet? Let me know if you have/when you do ;)
great production guys! chart material here! R8 Nom!
I think this is the first time i'm and that's a nice one. Pads are sick. woah u even put a piano in there.commenting on one of ur trax. now to the track percussion is simple but damn is it sick, perfect for this track and the guitar melody lines are very well done too. guitar solos, i like those! this is really good stuff. Joyriders - luved the story. the lyrics are sweet and and i get a chill when the singers say "burn it out" that's sum nice soothing vocals. really clean and i liked it so.... RATED Matt
Great mix fellas, commented before, but this time with this mix take a Nom
Hey sheds ....... this is great! .... sounds a bit " John Prine " ... if I were mixing I would have the drums louder and drop the lead vocal down a tad .... but hey .. I'm not mixing! .... still very good! . chris
crackin sound on this.....love those vox....so right for the track. Studio did u proud on this , and u did the studio time well too... very neat..
I like this song. So your in Ireland huh? I think i'm part Irish on my mom's side, maiden name's Brady.
Uploaded the final album mix.
liking this track a lot... Rated boys!
Nice track. dark yet mellow, vocalist sounds a little like Nick Cave to my ears which is no bad thing. Will rate & recommend. Nice one. Robin W.
Hi, Great track. Production sounds great to me (I'm fairly new at this). Vocals are excellent, love the timbre of the lead vocals. Backing vocs work. Lyrics are interesting and dark. Music is intriguing and wavy..like the mood a lot...very nice. Great work overall. Will rate and nominate for charts. Cheers, Smudge from Smudgie
Nice vibe and dark something original to listen too.
Hey Rogue, very nice production. I would'nt change a thing. Levels are right on, mix sounds splendid, pans are perfect also. Great job. take a rating and recommendation on my site.
Another class! Rated, Johnny
levels all sound perfect to me, also awesome panning-work, very nice indeed. good song, i love the guitareffects, the low singing and wel placed backing vocals.. really well done, actually, this is one of my favourites of you guys. uh.. maybe do somehting with the abrubt end? ;)
This is a great track, so melodic yet subdued. Production sounds very clean. Well Done...rated
sex on legs? this rhymes! sexy vocals in deed. great tune, slightly dark atmosphere. interesting chord changes that build up some tension. fabulous.
Jayziz Johnny who'd a thought you had a voice that was sex on legs!
aye this is better to my ears, love the harmonics and the percusion fits so much, much better :)very impressive :)liked the original take but it gets better and better everytime your man fiddles with it :) levels all sound good to me, maybe the percusion could be brought forwards a little?, strong work on the beats but seems its more in the background, the bassline fits perfect, cuts through the mix mighty fine. the ending was a bit abrupt. quality work guys, but i never expect anything less :) thumbs up
Yeah it s fab tune, now i really like the middle section, that echoey drum realy adds a nice ambience to the instrumental section, and rest of song... anyway, cant really remember the original mix, but this sounds damn good to me... it's a fab tune, and a very enjoyable listen, glad I returned.
Another congratulations from me to you on the charts again this week! This really is a great tune! Keep expecting to hear it on the radio when I'm cruising! Soooooooon!
What a great song! Really like the arrangement - BVS are top notch. Love the major/minor change on 'burned it out' and elsewhere. Great choice of instruments - all excellently played. And then to top it all - great singing - very nice quality to the lead vocal. What is the effect in the left ear that's most prominent at beginning(in my opinion for what it's worth, I think the song would benefit from not having it). Nominated for def...Martin
back for another listen ..yes its got a good feel this song..you guys have a good future with material like this ..exnt song.
Well I got here! Not disappointed in the slightest....vocals are fantastic....song is musically tops and builds in intensity to reflect the serious lyrics. Can't fault it. Gets nom to go with the others. Maybe I need to get my production sorted out......! Kevin (Mooney)
When I opened this up I got Nick Cave feel .. As always an absolute corker of a Shed composition and production. Fekkin brilliant guys
Congratulations on that #2 chart spot this week! Way to go! :) Another great song!
Hey guys, just stop'in back in to say congrats on the chart placement. You guys ought to be signed!
This is really great. That relaxed mood you conjure, those smooth vocals and harmonies to underline it. And a sweet guitar to complement it. At first the song sounds straightforward, but there is so much going on under the surface, from the single note repetition to the lovely pads sweeping through the song. Sorry, but I can't give pointers, this is way above my own league. Excellent stuff!
Fantastic production on this guys!...sounds very slick and polished indeed! I really like the construction of this track, some nice 'off' kind of string chords going on, which gives it a bit of a U2 kinda feel in parts, especially at the end with the deep strings. I think, for me personally tho, i would have liked this sung an octave higher, instead of the low low vocal. Dont get me wrong, its still a great vocal, and Johnny B has done a grand job. Thats obviously the whole feel of the song. The harmonies are excellent, and sit perfectly! Very good work! Gets my rate and nom. Mark
shmooze music. Melodic version of the Fun Lovin Criminals spring to mind. Quality Shed as always.
Well guys this song sounded really good and interesting untill my headphone speaker started crackling and farting, and I know it's not your mix. Damn things. Anyway, Quality stuff and a good listen!
Back again for another listen.Cant really remember how it was before, but i think this is an excellent mix!Very cool song, clean, tight, super everything in my book.Goes to show the quality you can drag out of an old shed, lol.
Got a proper Johnny Cash tone to the voice for starters! which is ace. I like that little synth/horn sound on the beat every now again. This is has a smooth mellow sound that sits beautifully with the vox. Some fantastic writing and layering gone into this one. YOu guys never fail to impress me big style! Rated and nommed for sure.
well normally i see "new mix" and i find myself uninterested. but seeing as the shed are a perenial mp3u powerhouse, i had to come and see. forgive me if i missed it the first time, but i hear other vocals other then just the new guy. he still has that cash feel. im trying to pick out whats new. production gets an A+ from me, and i love the oh oh oh oh oh, part. and the Bah ba da. I think these are the shed singing parts. admittingly, i like the shed vocals better. but i think johnny B. cash, adds something to this particular track. but lets just say there is johnny's sweet sounding talk singing style, then there is the shed vocal performances. overall track gets high high honors from me. sadly i still like been so long better. but song structure, and overall sound quality, this might be even better then been so long. really good song and worth the wait. i nomed last week, and if its still alive next week it'll get another. this is magnif---aaron
Hi Rogue! Listening to this again as you mentioned re-mixing. I can't say I am one to say yeah or nay tech wise but this sounds wonderful to me! I was hearing a little buzz in my left speaker more-so in the beginning, not sure what it was-may have been my speaker? This song really has a "grow-on-you" effect! Another fabulous song & collab guys! Way to go! :)
WhenI was much, much younger I must admit I dabbled in the world of Joyriding. This song brings back many memories to me - both good and bad, thank you.
THANKS FOR THE COMMENTS. NEW MIX WILL BE GOING UP TODAY. Cheers ROGUE of The Shed
sweet track - love the vocals(reminds me of lou reed) and the chord progressions - I guess I would have liked the bottom to be a little more present in the mix but otherwise excellent track - rated
yes very nice vocals and mix guys...they should hang joyriders/thiefs...nice harmonies and musical backing to guys ..all in all a good tight production...rascilly rate for ya.
Nice song, people. Love the deep richness of the vocals especially - I noted a few names in the other comments down there as to who they sound like - I'd like to add a (very young) Tom Waits to this. Luvverly. Also, a strong point with this one is the backing vocals - positioned just perfectly in the mix there, they make a perfect complement to the main vox. As for sound quality, you'll already know you've nailed that. Performances are all-round top notch material too. What can I do but Rate and Nominate?
Great track as always. I also liked the low mellowness of the vocals and the production and imagery is great. Had a nice minor-key chillness to give it edge. Rated dudes
lyrics to read would be nice :) quality sound guys, as always...I adore low pitched male vox so u hit the spot Johnny B...lots of flavours in one song and I'd say it's quite unique in that respect, which is how I'd describe The Shed overall, if anyone asked me..take a nom guys!
Thankyou for all those excellent comments everyone.
Brilliant stuff as always guy, very catchy and moreish...on second listen now. Love the vocals and the backing makes really nice listening, rated and nominated.
Top track - Johnny gave me a listen to this before - sung like Chris Rea which is fine
Really enjoyed listening to this - foot tapping from the start. Nice gentle sloping build to the track.....and wind down. Great vocals..and sweet harmonies!! Bass line rules ..and tidy guitars! Rated and nom'd! Peace x
Hi! First compliments to Johnny for his vocal performance! Great tone! I enjoyed the overall feel of this song. Always impressed with your productions! Fine, fine, fine! Rated/Nommy too! :)
Great work. Rated, nom, recommended. Love the backing track (but you might consider a shorter ending instrumental). Really love the bvs. The lead vox were good (I might have liked them a bit 'crisper' sounding). The lyric seemed OK, I guess. I don't know if I got the whole story on one listen, some things confused me a bit, so it is hard to say. Posting written lyrics is always a good idea if you really want comments on them.
GREAT! Sounds good to this hillbilly, lol.EXCELLENT!Like the structure alot.
Relly love the soft vocals on this the harmony and laid back feel really smooth -another gem guys
Ah this is just pure class! Love it. Too much mid range on the bass guitar... sounds too raw (imo). Vocals are amazing and i really dig the adlib in the mid section and then the cello comes in.. you guys are pros! Love your sound and i'll defo rate and stick you on my recommends list for sure. Best of luck with your music you definitely have your own sound going. Peace Ace
:-) Nice tune.. Leonard Cohen yeah suppose does sound a bit like his style of singing, anyway it's good this, like the backing vocs, and the instrumentation, nice bass line, as far as the mix goes dont sound bad to me... imteresting effects and stuff going on in there.. yep sounds damn good to me! Buttons pushed...
The end section reminded me of the first incarnation of ELO (the Roy Wood) days which is no bad thing.... great track lads
Good job lads, great to see some other Irish on the site. From Dublin myself. Nice track, vocals sound a lot like Leonard Cohen (not a bad thing). Nice work.
oh man its .been so long. since i heard a new one from you guys. so i see its a different singer. i like his style, more like the late john cash. the beackground is great, the bass guitar is tasty.. rated and nomed
Very nice - professionally done composition. There should be a limit to how many tunes you guys put out cos they're all too good!!!! Can't wait for more. - Jon.
This is great, reminds me of someone can't think who it is,has a very nice chilled feel to it, great harmonys, and love that deep voice. Can't fault this, brilliant infact. Rated and nominated. Saph x
Is that Leonard Cohen deep vocals I can here? Lol! This is a nice track all round guys. The drums are a bit quite, Everything else seems pretty kewl tho. I ove the vocalising that goes on in the midsection. Lyrics would be nice to read so I could sing eith it. this is infectious as hell......rated!
a new shed song how cool is that :D really nice vocals, quite a bit different from the norm' shedies stuff, really nice backing, musicaly really cool but i do have a ikle problem there is some kind of buzzing in my left ear, more notacable in the quieter sections, not sure what it is? maybe reverb not sure but it dont really add anything, other than a buzzing.other than this really cool catchy number, the drums could do with been brought a bit more forward the snare seems to dominate the beats weird snare sound also cool track guys thumbs up

"The Shed blew a great many people away last year with their capacity for churning out great rock licks combined with a pop songwriting style that defies description. They also gave me a Track Of The Year and narrowly missed snagging my Artist Of The Year award in a year of some truly incredible competition. So, yeah, I like them" Steve Gilmore, MP3UNSIGNED / http://rebelriffs.blogspot.com/
Following their eponymous debut in 2007, The Shed return with a new collection of 13 tracks entitled 'Goldfish Love'. As the album title would suggest a somewhat skewed perspective is emitted through the fish-eyed lens of this six-piece from Cork. Over the course of 60 minutes the band traverses what seems like familiar ground but often turns out to be something unexpected including a road trip that ends in alien abduction [The Cliffs], an homage to the inventor of the lava lamp [Craven Walker], the guilty pleasures of homemade jam [Rory’s Homemade Jam], the serenity of eternal love [Goldfish Love], self-immolation [Wildfire], social networking satire [Friends on MySpace], an urban mystic [The Weatherman] and the ages of man [7 Songs]. Add to this The Shed’s ear for an array of musical styles from dreamy pop to indie punch; acoustic folk to a healthy dose of cosmic wig outs and you’ve got a creamy aural concoction ripe for ingestion.
The album was engineered in Cork by Finny Corcoran at BPM Studios.
Mastering was done by world reknowned Masterer Bob Katz of Digital Domain in Florida.
The song "Goldfish is a lot like Ravel’s Bolero....the hypnotic crescendo ....it’s a nice song that builds to an intense punk rock level peak and starts in folk music land" Bob Katz
"The Shed's first album was good but this new one is brilliant!"

Goldfish Love was launched at the Savoy Theatre in Cork on Friday June 4th, 2010.
The Shed -Craven Walker- Download Single Release Track : Craven Walker from Goldfish Love Album (released June 2010) The Shed release the fist single from their new Goldfish Love Album, in honour of the 10th anniversary of Lava Lamp inventor Edward Craven Walker. The track is being released on Sunday August 15th 2010 . Craven Walker is available to download in the following stores: http://www.downloadmusic.ie/theshed/craven-walker http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/TheShed3 http://www.itunes.com/theshedAbout Craven Walker (info from Wikipedia): Edward Craven Walker (July 4, 1918 – August 15, 2000) was the inventor of the Lava Lamp. War Record Craven was a pilot in World War II, flying a DeHavilland Mosquito over Germany to take photographs from an unarmed plane. He met his first wife, Marjorie Bevan Jones, at an air base where she was with the WAAF. Craven continued flying after the war. The Astro Lamp After the war Craven developed an idea he had in a country pub. The pub had a contraption made by a regular who had since departed, a one-off device consisting of an egg-timer and a lightbulb. While it was rudimentary, Craven saw potential and set about perfecting it. He set up a lab in a small shed where he mixed ingredients in bottles of different shapes and sizes. He discovered the best container was a Tree Top Orange Squash bottle and its shape defined the Astro Lamp. Craven set up a company to produce the lamps, naming it Crestworth. Operating from small buildings on an industrial estate in Poole, Dorset, Crestworth supplied the world with lamps for 40 years. They were a success through the 1960s, symbolic of psychedelia. Craven said, "If you buy my lamp, you won't need drugs... I think it will always be popular. It is like the cycle of life. It grows, breaks up, falls down and then starts all over again".Naturism Walker was a naturist, setting up his own camp at Matchams in Hampshire. It became one of the largest in the United Kingdom. Film Work Craven combined film with naturism. In the 50s and 60s nudity in film was taboo but he evaded censors by not showing pubic hair. As a result he became a pioneer in this genre. Under the pseudonym Michael Keatering, Craven directed the naturist film Travelling Light (1959). This was the first naturist film to receive public release in the UK. Described as an underwater ballet, it was shot off Corsica and released in 1960. He later produced Sunswept (1961) and Eves on Skis (1963). Death Toward the end of the 1990s, Craven battled with cancer. He died at Matchams in Ringwood, Hampshire and was buried in a small cemetery in the New Forest. He was 82.
good work
Seeing as I spend the whole year pandering to you bastar... um people, I think I deserve to take some time and listen to what I want to listen to - just for a change. Although this has come up on the MP3 Unsigned review list this month, I had already decided that I wanted to start off the New Year reviews with me ould mates from the Emerald Isle; The Shed. In case you have spent the la
It's been a dogs age since I last went in The Shed, so I'm gonna deviate from the normal list here for a minute and play catch up with one of my favourite bands this year. Right now I have all four of the tracks from their MP3 Usigned page nestled away on my hard drive where they have stayed and more than likely take up residence. They've been well quiet though since the furore surroun
The shed, where to start. They have a very professional sound. I've listened to these guys for a long time now, and this might possibly be my favorite track of theirs. criticisms: only one, wasnt too keen on the chime in the begining, but then throughout the song it goes down in the mix, and adds a lot Positives: What really gets me about this song, is the vocals. It s
i think this was a very good track...this is not even my preferred genre of music however it was very good.
This song reminds me of the sesame street theme song I so loved growing up in Stockholm, however all the musicians sound drunk and the singer is definately stoned. The bass sounds like it was done by a 40 year old wanna be session musician who didn't quite make it. All the backing vocals are drugged and slightly seedy. I wonder is there a sexual angle to all these men getting together in their she
Regular readers will know that I DO like a lot of stuff I hear but it takes a rare event to get me really throwin' me toys out of me pram and when I reviewed The Shed's 'The Parson, The Pauper etfekkincetra' (April 2006) I gotta to admit to even foaming at the mouth. Right now, The Shed look like having a terrific year because right behind this classic track comes a shedload more, if you'll
They say truly great songs capture your attention within the first 10 seconds. Well, The Shed's All Moist At A Bad Party does just that. Right from the glorious opening guitar riff to the genius first line "Don't touch me there it might be construed as innappropriate" you know you're in for a treat. Quite simply, The Shed are in a league of their own when it comes to humour and wor
This is the first time I have reviewed The Shed man what a treat I have had with my reviews this month. This track for me is one that I can play and play and play and not get bored with, and I do believe me. this track as had major kaneage. The vocals have been the highlight for me or more the lyrics. The use of effex on the vocals is amazing and very well done. Some really cool riffage
Good guitar sounds here on the acoustic and vocals and lmelody that slightly remind me of Led Zeppelin on "Hangman" and other tracks of theirs. Good track well sung and played.
What a great feel good song...excellent!
No prizes for guessing where this artist gathers inspiration and does the music making, the only question I would want answering is what kind of shed we are talking about. Is it shed as in garden shed (peculiarity of the British Isles btw) or is it shed as in the football term shed? Enquiring minds want to know. I suspect it's garden shed because it would be a good place to get a
Oh yes, foot tapping and hours of fun, i really love this song. Instantly you get a warm and happy vibe from the song, it really is so nice to see tracks like this one being produced. I could honestly listen to this all day its that damm good. Right at the start the harmonica gives it an instant punch of fun, and set you up for a song that really does tell a story. This is a song that wou
Well, this is not a style that I am accustomed to listening to, ....much..... I began dancing like a nut in a pub as this track went on, very catching,....not me dancing, the song. The recording is better then most I have heard in this genre, here or anywhere, everything clean, clear, vocals sound very well recorded, and the mention of Canada was just great, sonce I am canadian, living in
"Like a cross between the Divine Comedy and Lynyrd Skynard visiting the Pogues " That was my first comment upon hearing this track when it was first put up, and on the whole, I'd stand by that! This is a quality, foot stomping, get the blood moving, fast moving track. As soon as the track starts your foot starts going to the catchy tune, the musicianship is brilliant, and the band perform
