Essence has written, recorded and released several vocals (on Vinyl, CD and digital formats) on labels such as BC Presents and Dirty Habit working with established and up and coming artists. Essence has also presented radio shows with Alex Zane and been a guest dj for several internet radio stations, produced several amateur videos to accompany releases, co - managed a 3 day DNB festival stage, been signed to Black Tiger Recordings and Subsonik Sound Recordings and too much more mention ;p
+ ViralEssence form at the start of 2006 after a chance meeting on the drum and bass forum Spinwarp. ViralEssence are Contayjen and Essence.
+ In April 06 ViralEssence released their first single “Green Bliss” a frantic Eastern Styled Drum and Bass track. It was immediately picked up by Computer Music Magazine who featured the track in issue 101 in the “listening room” slot. In the same week Green Bliss topped the charts at Mp3Unsigned hitting number 1. Within days permission to remix Green Bliss was granted to two producers E:Mortal and C.A.B.L.E. The C.A.B.L.E. Remix was signed and released on Bad Company UK's latest compilation CD Bad Taste II in November 06 and played on BBC Radio's Asian Network.
+ In May-June 06 Embers was released, also reaching no.1 in the Official Chart on Mp3Unsigned.com. A remix competition on Battle of the Beatz received 12 entries, one of which, Synrgy's Sundown Mix was signed by In Da Jungle Recordings and has been featured in DJ mixes worldwide.
+.Summer 06 and Essence started to DJ out in clubs in the UK and Europe. The best of these gigs were at the Kaiman Club, Antwerp and the Eastern Haze Festival 2006. Essence also had a two hour weekly Friday night slot on Evolution fm spinning DnB to hard Trance, Old Skool and Techno.
+ In Nov 06 Essence produced a new video to the ViralEssence track "Nasty Intentions" plus a second remix competition was announced, receiving 15 entries. A remix by Subsonik was signed by Incite Recordings. The label never released this track some and it has recently been remixed by Subsonik as a VIP Remix and is set for release shortly on his own label (which he started in 2008) Subsonik Sound Recordings. The Nasty Intentions video was voted as one of the three 'Video of the Year 2006' on Mp3Unsigned.com.
+ In February 2007 Essence was signed to Black Tiger Recordings.
+ As well as continuing work with Contayjen Essence undertook new collaborative projects including forming CarEss with the lovely Carol Sue Kirkpatrick.
+ Essence also teamed up with bad boy producer Subsonik over the spring of 2007.
+ Essence is still enjoying DJ gigs and highlights handing over to Aphrodite as her favorite set in 2008.
+ In July Essence managed the drum and bass stage at a 3 day festival The Eastern Haze Festival, alongside Rain.Bo! The BASS STATION promo was a fantastic weekend and a huge success running without hitch.
+ In August 2007 after 16 months of files flying back and forth over the net between Contayjen and Essence the album "Into the Light" by ViralEssence was released on CD and digital formats. Essence also made several new videos in 2007.
+ In February 2008 Drop in the Ocean Vs Kiro Feat Essence was released on Dirty Habit Records on Vinyl. It sold out at the distro within a month or two! It is now available on Trackitdown as an MP3 download.
+ . At the end of 2007 Essence teamed up with Attic Tracks. They formed the name ATFE (Attic tracks Featuring Essence). ATFE are already in the depths of producing and finishing an album with the release date unknown as yet. The album is to be very unique sounding - a sweet infusion of Electronic Ambient, DnB undertones and breaks topped with the lush vocal coatings of Essence.
+ At the start of 2008 ViralEssence debut album "Into the light" was featured in Weed World magazine (Issue 72) and reviewed alongside DJ Tiesto and Tom Findlay of Groove Armada.
+ . In April 2008 Hope - Morphesis Feat Essence was released on Influenza Media.
+ In May 2008 ViralEssence recieved an excellent review in the Great Yarmouth and also the Waveney Advertisers by reviewer Sharon Richardson.
+ In September 2008 Essence was signed to Subsonik Sound Recordings and many releases have been planned right through to 2009!
+ In August 2008 Essence was selected to co-host Myspace Mars Planets Radio Show with Alex Zane and Mark Thomas! Essence was voted back in by the public to do a second show at USP Content Studios with Alex Zane!
+ In December 2008 Staring At Infinity – Subsenix Feat Essence saw release on Subsonik Sound Recordings smashing the top ten Beatport download charts!
+ In December 2008 Be With Me – Subsonik Feat Essence was released and hit number 1 on the drum and bass downloads charts at Trackitdown and the top ten over at Beatport!
+ In January 2009 Embers – ViralEssence – Ben Sage remix was released on Subsonik Sound Recordings. It reached the top ten downloads on Trackitdown.
