Great metal instrumental here, love the energy in the track and you have done a great job.
I have never heard of instrumental Metal... but I think i like it better then those with vocals... no voice needed here.. I get the feel and the guitar speaks every language.. great job.. new fan here...
I like the thunder. Can't have a superhuman song without thunder! lol J/K! I think the ensemble comes in a bit sudden so I think I get what peeps are saying about a longer intro. Maybe you could add a forest with birds chirping or create some type of ambient atmosphere of peace and transform it into the heavy rocking song I'm hearing now! I don't think you did a bad job at all with the bass. It sounds pretty good and I think you're a bit modest, actually. lol The drums are very "DRUM!" and the guitar doesn't have a huge chug but enough chug to letcha have it! Very nice sound. The double bass really adds to the energy of the song towards the end and I think that would be an excellent place to put that solo you talked about making. Would be cool to hear some organs, too. Not sure where you think I'm going with that, but I think it could give it an intensified sensation to it. I'm not sure how you want this song to end up sounding so... I'll just leave it as a suggestion. I like the melodies and the awesome riffs. Lots of heavy sounds and fills to keep things exciting. The arrangement is very well done except for the beginning where you could (and I'm sure you're going to eventually) add more to introduce the sounds better. The entire ensemble mixes very well and I can't find any instruments that are out of place. The analyzer looks flat as a board-especially during the double BD part-and sounds great on my monitors. I totally cranked it up by the way. haha! I had to! Very well done, my friend. I'm glad to be back commenting again. This song reminds me of how fun it is. Have a great day, man. Rock on!
Nice one here, you are a very tight player my man. Nice to check out a fellow instrumentalist - if yuo get moment can you check out my rack Europa, I would welcome your thoughts. Cant comment on your production cause it sound OK on my cheap ear buds through the PC. Nice to bump into you. Flood
So creative with the melody! My man!
heavy duty stuff and great guitar skill. everything sits good in the mix on the cans here. i'd bump up the high frequencies just a bit though. The highs on the drums are all good, but the guitars could use just a bit of a treble boost ( or maybe i'm going deaf over here already :D ) either way, this is some serious playing here, great job!
You really are one of the class acts on this site for sure! I like the Eastern vibe in this one. Your riff work is brilliant - always melodic and interesting, with some quality musical change ups - It takes great skill to produce a song this good -
Sounds awesome to me, WIP -pish lol. Wish my WIP sounded half as polished lol. Agree the beginning section is stunning, want more. Dunno about vocals, they would have to be special to even be considered, who would do it justice ? Happy as it is, perfect :)
Excellent composition brother. The bass and drums are just so solid, you have more than a strong backing to play with. Your guitar work is just a joy to listen to and to difficult to copy!!!!
Playing catch up again...Tis a monster track Dave and the production's sweet to my ears.Luv the eastern style riffs and the dramatic energy and drive of the track...inspiring ;) R8ed.
Riffage nice and tight, very well balanced arrangement and excellent production, bass, drums and guitars all coming through my pc speakers with punch and verve. A bit lengthy for me without a vocal or a screaming lead in there somewhere but I have to admit I'm enjoying this, a second time around now it seems:) Well done, Dave, thumbs up buddy.
Lyrics would be a great addition to this piece. I kept singing "Irish Dancing monkeys" different ways in a metal voice and I thought it still sounded cool. I can't wait to hear your solo on this piece. Although, I think I'll download this as is. I- RISH DAN-CING MON-KEYS STOM-PING FE-VER-ISH-LY!!! I'm gonna try out my new metal voice I just found out I have.
got to agree love the intro..I think that could be expanded?...in a Dream Theater kind of way? epic track...awesome shred (that's always a given) infact I think using the parts in the intro throughout the track would work...I don't hear vocals as such on this...not dismissing them...would deffo like to hear some if it ever happened :) I like the production on this...over polished and I think it will lose it's charm :) I say over polish loosely...top track m8 :) on 3rd listen I can now hear a vocal lol something like when Dani Filth goes really deep...not his screaming lol...that would kill it...maybe even a narration...some evil satanic shiz :) sorry for rambling :)...peace,Ricky
Love the intro! I have to say that I just love your guitar skills, I don't think there is anyone that can hold a candle to you. I know that everyone needs to hear a solo in here but I really dig it as you have it. This is the music I grew up with. Raw power guitar driven ROCK! I also want to say that I'm not commenting for a return thumb or comment. I just really respect your art! Class my friend. Eric
Im with Andy n that the drums sound cool...love that rock kick drum nice Eq on that. The guitars are awesome just wish could play at that level.Very dramatic and powerful tune needs a huge gong at the end.Andy with do a good job on this if you let him sonic blast it.Well done and nice to hear a new tune from you dude.Let me know the progress of this and Marts collab.RTD.
I'm not ignoring now gonna press the thummy thing cos it's awesome. OK ya maybe blatted the cym crashes in a couple o places with the mix/mastering but it don't detract. I can hear some vox coming in at spot on 1min 19 secs dude, yeah that's the spot. If ya fancy avin a listen send me the unmastered / uncompressed version and I'll have a go at it (but not tonight - me lad's back from Afghan and we're hitting the pubs). Anyone got any lyrics?
Whoa, very dramatic and absolutely awesome production. I dont think a solo would be a miss as the melody carries the piece well. But if you put one in it'll only add the the track.
Hee hee one of the clearest and best produced drum tracks you've done and your gonna tear it out and stick some plastic explosives in hee hee. Nice axework dude. I expect there'll be some phenominal ober-superhuman licks pasted on top. Looking forward to it and just say the word dude and I'll push it thru wavelab.
Thanks for the comms guys - still very much a WIP, drums will be stripped out and replaced with electronica which will be cool:-) While recording this track I've decided that my Ibanez Jem is my favorite guitar. Everything done on this axe, down-tuned a whole step on all strings. Just in case anyone is interested!
Impossible to ignore a new SH sound bit. Sounds great! Please PM me when the final edit is up.
Hello Dave.. Like the way you say "WIP Ignor" lol.... I said i would listen though and i try to keep to my word as much as i can... Guitars are great!!.. love the depth in the riffs.. It almost feels like fantasy rock?.. is there such a thing?.. You ever thought of putting some of your guitar work forward for game soundtracks, or just soundtracks in general?. I know its WIP... but cool dark riffs and nice lead melody.. has an eastern feel at times?... Cheers for sharing mate!

Superhuman comprises one damaged Irish guitarist and random collections of notes composed during various bouts of madness. Some tracks are obviously influenced by vastly greater players I grew up listening to but I've been trying to forge my own style which is becoming more evident in my later tracks. If anyone ever wants to collaborate on anything I'm always interested. If you like any of my tracks please leave a comment, a rate and a facebook like!

Working on a collab with Kelly Mitchell at the moment over a backing created by Torquestra. It's a neoclassical piece which sounds very cool. Have yet to add my parts but am very impressed by what Kelly has put together so far.
When Dave “Superhuman” Kelly asked me to write this review, I think I knew instinctively that it was likely to be one of my more meandering efforts and that has indeed proved to be the case. You have been warned! So let me now try and explain why that should be the case. There can’t be too many people with access to a TV or the internet who haven’t yet seen the film of when Susan Boyle walked
It used to be that world class shredders (Ed: fast guitarists) were a rare event but these days I'm always tripping over them. That's not to say that I actually LIKE the shredding side of metal because I'm not so sure I do. Too much of a 'look-at-me-going-as-fast-as-I-can' playground thing attached to it if ya ask me. The shreds the thing, not the tune that underlies it. Mi
Was just floating by and discovered this artist, Thank the stars i did, malmsteen kinda topped off this style and I remember thinking fuck how can anyone top this guy........? rhandy Rodes whoa. So bearing in mind my above hero's and influences, Ive found this guy, fret work outstanding, composition unflawed, melodic composition top hole, Im gonna be following this guy closely an
God, I wish I were. Superhuman, that is. I find out later that Dave Kelly (aka the aforementioned alpha human) is merely superhuman, he's Irish too. Which, of course, amounts to pretty much the same thing in my book. Now then, if you are wondering whether I am dragging the Blarney Stone around with me to curry favour with advanced beings, think again. I'm merely going
Next up is a track from Superhuman called "Hellucination" another hard rocking guitar instrumental. All this shreddage is doing wonders for my rock cred on the site so bring it on lol :) Looking at Dave's bio on his page, seems he is a self taught taught guitarist who plays by ear and plays everything on this track. I've noticed from previous tracks of his I have listened to he has a very god work
As soon as you hit the play button, you very quickly realise that this guy can certainly play the guitar well! As a metal fan during my teens (and still, to a degree), I've come to appreciate a well-played solo! This one last for almost three minutes, and it's this solo that forms the entire basis for the track! While there's no doubt that the solo is both complex and brilliant, some may find it h
This is my first ever review, and I chose a simpler song by Superhuman instead of one of his masterpieces, so already you could surmise that I feel unequal to the task of reviewing a powerhouse guitarist. But still, I think an objective opinion can be made, on the basis of music-is-to-be -enjoyed, and I'll approach this from my own perspective towards music. The "Angels" are Superhuman's little
To day I will be reviewing one of the superstars of mp3unsigned SUPERHUMAN(Dave). I asked him to tell me about his background, the following is his reply: I am 100% self thaught, I learned to play the guitar by visualising patterns on the fretboard, to be honest I have a tough time remembering the names of the strings, musical theory escapes me but I learned by listening to greate
songwriting - I like the structure of this song, it loses my interest a couple of times for a brief moment, but then pulls me back with an interesting change, the way the drums roll back and forth from on the beat to off is particularly interesting, I hate doing that myself, but it does work in a track like this. I did find however that at the beginning of the track the drums were a little out of
My overall feeling about this track was pretty good. Dave is a good guitar technician. Dave's sound quality is excellent, and the recoding quality is also excellent. I liked the War of Worlds spoken overdubs. The song is about 6 minutes long. probably too long for average commercial appeal. however, for other guitar players and maybe even a movie score the length would be fine as it is. I wou
