My overall feeling about this track was pretty good. Dave is a good guitar technician. Dave's sound quality is excellent, and the recoding quality is also excellent. I liked the War of Worlds spoken overdubs.
The song is about 6 minutes long. probably too long for average commercial appeal. however, for other guitar players and maybe even a movie score the length would be fine as it is. I would have liked to hear more frequent changes in structure. there is a change that takes place at 4:30 or so into the song and another at 6:00. those changes ocurring at more frequent and predictable intervals could have added more commercial appeal.
Reading the songs comments it states there is no bass line. honestly, I didn't notice. comments also mention that it needs to be re-recorded and rejigged a bit and a deliberately bad solo section. Again, I didn't notice. I felt the playing was excellent and more melodic than the usual metal guitar soloist.
In closing I'd like to say. Dave, calm down. It's a good tune performed by a good player.
