This Is A War
Back for some WoD this morning...Damn!
drums remind me of Queen's We Will Rock you....which is the only resemblance to them...you sound like Depeche Mode in the vocals but I prefer you....this is stunning stuff...love it...
Ooooops. Did I not leave a comment on this yet? Have heard this many times over the last month or so. Love the chant quality of the chorus and the big synth melodies after the chorus are pure quality. Great lyrics, performance and production all add up to a sure fire winner. Rated. Craig
Oooh I like this one. From the winding breathless verses to short punchy choruses, this gives the variety I was missing in The Deep End. Again, well produced and mixed, great lyrics, vocals and instrumentation. You've got the 80s industrial electro feel down to a fine art. This is probably my favourite of your tracks so far. I'll definately be keeping an eye on you and look forward to your future offerings :-) Rated.
Ooooof, that is one yummy agressive sound. Very very nice sound, somewhere bordering on Industrial, Pop, and Electro funk. I get some flavors that remind me of VNV Nation. Like this very much. First class production,.... that chorus line if this is a war is just killer!! : )
woooooow
I'd like to thank you for the kind words, man. I really liked your song a lot (as you could probably tell from the comments. lol) I even gave you one of my noms. I think you deserve a congratulations on getting the #2 spot. Your music is what did it. Most definitely. It has such a strong and deep emotion to it. It really gets the internal energy going, if you know what I mean.;) Well, hopefully the forums'll come back up soon. You have yourself a wonderful day!
vocals are awesome, harmonies work really well with the echo/delay effects. Stunning production, professional in every aspect. pressing all buttons on this one.
The machine gun is really well done. You've got a winner here in my opinion. Everything is right. So much going on and every detail is audible. That's the sign of top notch production.
I really like this one W.A.D.the power/the energy /no prisoners this is war. Love the beats and vox as always cool, the delays on the tail of words is nicely done. The vocal level i cant make my mind up(is it too loud)maybe its the raw energy coming from that voicebox :) Great production on this fella and nice synths used, enjoyed the ride.
A ton of stuff going on. Well produced I have to admit. Love the machine gun percussion. Vocals remind me a bit of a Scottish singer called Paolo Nutini (although he sings in a Scottish accent which sounds a bit wrong). Very well delivered vocal. The backing track is certainly never boring. Perhaps a bit over active for mass public consumption, but I approve of it. Very good chorus melody. Catchy, and to the point. All in all, an exceptionally good track that wouldn't sound out of place in Miami Vice ;) Crockett and Tubbs would be loving that! Exceptionally good piece of work, Sir. Rated.
Wow, this is a cool track. Arrangement and production is spot on and the vocals are really cool. This one derves to be heard, rated and nom'd.
Class arrangement, man, those vocals are fantastic! Heavy accompaniment - sheer fun, this was a joy to listen to, keep 'em comin'!
The vocal delivery is excellent -Maybe the vibrato is overdone in places - especially at the end of phrases - but you have a GREAT voice - think it sounds at its best without major vibrato though- Despite the fact that your music reminds me so much of Depeche Mode - I think you create enough drama and passion to carry it off - there is enough originality and spark in your ideas for you to attract an audience 4sure - One thing I love about your songs is that if you have a message you are absolutely uncompromising in getting it across - and that is the mark of a true artist - good luck with this!
Good track. Not sure if i like the vocals or not but i'm a fussy f*cker. Cool 80's sounding music. I like the bass and the different sound effects. Production sounds good but i haven't got much of a clue in that area. Good stuff.
This is GREAT. Vin
Yessss! A new WOD sonnnnggggg! Awesome! I love the guns in the beat! That sounds so cool. And your voice! Wow, man. It has a lot of power to it. I really like the style and emotion you put forth in your vocals. Not only do you make really good lyrics, you can actually feeeeel the words as if they're particles entering your body. Awesome tone. The sounds you've chosen for this one are top notch, man. That Bass Drum really bangs that bass out. Really boomy and smooth. Not just a regular BD. You put some work into that thing. The basses that you came up with are so cool sounding. What's cool about the basses is that you don't stick to just one but a number of them and none of them clash with one another. That's some skill, dude. The guitars really go with everything very nicely. It's almost as if you make them sound unstopable. Kind of like the message of the song. It sounds like you want to really stand up for what you believe in and are willing to take things to the next step if you have to. The deep bass guitar and metallic sound to them give that vibe off along with your vocals as well. That sounds brilliant. Nice job with that. Having my disease... it's not easy... and I'm damn well gonna drag it down if I have to. haha! I can relate to this. Totally. The high pitch synths in the background have awesome stabs and punches. That distortion in the warbling synth really sounds neat. I find this song to be a very good example of how one can use distortion to their utmost advantage. So much power in this song, man. Wow. I think I've found a new favorite on here. You can really go off. The slow moving pace really builds up into the main segment of the song. What a build, man. A superb explosion, too! I like how the last line in the song has "I will winnnnnnn." I like that... Production wise. Wow, man. There is a LOT going on in this song. Almost too much. But that's a good thing for this one. Nothing clashes. You made a very good space for every element in your song and separated them real evenly. The style of this production would have me explain it as... uh... hmmmm... Bold! Yes. A very bold sound to it. Mixing, again, is pretty darned solid. And the arrangement totals out with a high score, man. You really hit that bell with the mallet! Great job, man. It was awesome to hear another one from you. I like how your voice has a type of variation in almost every word you sing. Snake-like almost. Like it curves and carves it's way to your ears. Very original sound to it. Have a rate. Your on my list for a possible nomination for sure, man. Have a rate for the mean time! And a great day!
Luv that chorus...powerfull wall of sound, great industrial percs, big synths and wicked vocals. You've got your'e own sound goin' on here, very unique and recognisable vox...IMO:)R8ed
dude, well produced track, excellent vocals, and again clear production. Sounds great even on my tiny laptop speakers. well worth a rate
This is more up my street Omar. Nice vox and the m/c gun (?) effect sounds cool. Lots going on musically too. Sinister (cool) lyric dude. Good song structure too. Rated
Full House on the scores and believe me this track truly deserves it. Now i am no expert on Rock my genre's tend to be Dance or Trance but from what i have heard from 'Want versus Need' this has given me a whole new outlook. This track went straight to no 1 on the mp3unsigned charts 'Congrats for that' and hopefully will maintain a high position there for a while as it is in no short
Let me first start off by apologising to 'Wake of destruction' as this is my first review in such a very long time. But can I also add that I am glad he put his hand up as he is a quality artist, that and the fact that I don't know him means that there is no presumptions and my review will not be bias in any way. I like to think I give a fair and honest review and hope that nothing I say
