The Remnants of...
The melody is fantastic, I can really imagine being at the cinema and watching a blockbuster epic movie with this playing really loud in the background! It's definately uplifting and I can always appreciate good music, which is what this is!
Another great track...and upon learning your age I'm twice as impressed! new fan here Mikey. :)
Wow...17 years old. That's astonishing! Your music reminds me of my musical endeavors when I was your age, the only difference being that your music is far more realized than mine was at the time. I listen to your music, and I can hear it going places! Keep up the good work...look forward to hearing new tracks sometime! -Phenom-
Now then, New Age music... New Age to me is usually some almost unheard drums with a foreground of dolphins clicking wildly over a sub-background of whales moaning on about how much plankton they have to swallow every day to keep alive (I assume that's what they go on about). Really gets my goat. And that's the main trouble with having to associate genres to any piece of music, most music made nowadays never fits neatly into one pile or another. This reminds me (when it gets going) of a laid back Prodigy track, especially with those pad sounds and the drum loops you've used, but fitting it into New Age seems the best thing to do given the overall feel of the piece. Good work here, I'd give it around an 8 out of 10. Keep it up.
Man, you're imagination seems to have no bounderies ! Good trip !
THIS IS SICK :D RESPECT!
You really know how to create an atmosphere.I think your tracks would be good for films, as they are uplifting and the elements of the track almost tell a story within itself.
ps, nominated, lets see if we cant get you on the charts this time
decided to stop by cuz i like you. the opening pads are great. your a young kid, and i see so much potential. you just might take over the stage one day. reading through the comments i saw someone said church music. and yes it sounds like that. but i hate church, yet i love this track. its because i love chanting. the beat is an upgrade for you. you did good job with this beat. sounds like a loop, but thats fine its a great beat for the track. so many cool instruments going on, so little time. a real unusual piano chord progression after the pads that i was uneasy about at first but then soon realized it rocked big time. great job. ratings
intresting song here, stayed within that gothic mealodic feel but added those tweaky sinths. could prob here this one on a Halo2 level lol, I like it makes me wanna chant or something. Thanks for checking out my latest. ArgentoSoma
hi there ..returning the compliment....this is a style i really like but have never been able to do..and this is done really well..especially like about half way through where it almost has a spanish flamenco feel to it..nothing i can say that hasn,t already been said..great track :o) Howsie :o)
Great intro, so dramatic, Ok the change to the male choir sound is pretty cool, and now its starting to get a groove happening, Yeah now this is great the main beat has went all techno but still very dramatic. Love the driving synth behind the keys. Gee this works so well, but I've always been a sucker for epic sounds. This could have quite easily continued into other viens. A definate rating from me.Great track. Steve
I can sense a religious feel to this track.....reminds me of my early years in a church school.....good strings wich makes this track excellent!!!!Rated of co....!!!!!!
Good string work. Like the first fade out with the darker synth - very smooth. The beat comes in nicely, well filtered. Good track mate.
I got flashbacks of being addicted to a computer game in the 80s, whilst listening to the theme tune to Tales From The Unexpected. Good beat in the middle, and quite fresh production sound. Cheers Dave Sz and the molecules
cool strings like the computer glitchy sounds in the intro.i like the chant? sample gothic sounding. cool beats.flows really well like the change up. i dont really play computer games so could'nt tell you if it reminds me of that, kinda reminds me of some kinda tv quiz show good production m8 thumbs up from me
Don't really get a lot of out and out classical music on this review beat. I get to review great wodges of faux-classical stuff courtesy of any number of artists but straightforward music from dead white dudes, meh. When I first met MP3 Unsigned's M S L, he was just starting a Music Major course in his native Florida but the music he was pumping out at the time was largely electr
Now for an artist who is not new to me from MP3 Unsigned. When I first encountered MSL when I reviewed Keep It High (October 2005) I wrote that 'there is plenty of room for this duo to grow into, I'd say expect some big things from them' and events proved that to be the case. They carried in experimenting with tracks right throughout the rest of 2005 and into 2006 when they changed dir
You'll only be able to listen to MSL's latest track partly because, I believe, it's an entry into an upcoming MP3 Unsigned competition but hey, it might be worth it. MSL veered off in an entirely new direction with The Remnants of... (May 2006) mixing their already established electronica sound sense with a hefty portion of classical influence on the side. To be absolutely truthful I w
Msl is a young kid hitting up the music making scene, busting out electronic pieces and of late he has been venturing out of his genre and really testing himself. this track, entitled a "revering site" is apptly titled. I really felt like i was seeing a revered sight when listening to this piece. This piece has very lush sounding pads. knowing msl decently well, i know that he u
First things first, this review is a request from MSL . I told him a while back if he ever wanted one , just to ask and I would do one. So he's been saving this for something imporatant. And I'm so glad he did. I discovered msl a while back, and like so many people on this site I was suitably inpressed, but being in a genre that alot of people share, didn't think he stood out particularly from
Ok here goes the last for this session, and MSL's has nailed it with is own words on this one, "epic" was the word he used to describe it on teh track description and thats excatly what it feels like, espically in the intro, which incedently i feel could possibably be to long, its really nice dont get me wrong, but maybe a shorter radio type edit would make it easier for a wider range of lis
At this stage of the game, I have five MSL tracks under my belt, so I should know what to expect by now. The Remnants of... isn't, to be honest, that much of a surprise. I first came across MSL when I reviewed their Keep It High (October 2005) track. Obviously the review was full of my usual gripes and groans about the genre but I think MSL came off quite well, it had an infectio
Review #2 from me for MSL. I have to admit, ...hmm...admit what....I think i liked the previous song I reviewed much better, not that this one is bad, it is done very well, but I just find it's very generic for it's genre. It does have alot of nice sounds, and is mixed very well, crisp clean and very easy to listen to, here are some of the problems I have with this track.
I have to admit, shamefully, that I have never reviewed msl before, and I am happy that I have today. I found that this track took quite a while to get into a change at the beginning, but once it did, it really took me for a ride, the drastic melody changes didn't sound out of place and lept me listening, although I found the tracks meat and potatoes to be a little short compared to how lon
Life in The Fast Lane by MSLRight, first off, since this is my first review i'm going to to let you know where Im coming from and how I'm going to review.I've been making tunes since I was at school (maybe 8 years now) but I started getting into Dance (of all types) when I started Raving about 5 years ago. So, being an Electronic track Im going to write from a 'Dance Floor' perspective, if you see
Hi MSL, I really admired the recording quality of the song it was top notch! I think it would do very well in a movie or a video game. I don't really detect anything real commerical or being a sell out piece of material but you never know. It's not exactly the kind of music I get into because I'm more into Rock n Roll and Blues and stuff like that but I appreciate all genres of m
I have review msl once before, and at first this track seems to be quite different from that. It opens with some lovely atmospheric synths and computer blibs and blobs. These are setting up a nice feel to the track. The second act (as I am calling it due to the different sound) comes in with what sounds like the ocean and seagulls. A nice drum sound going on here, and again some
Although I've reviewed a few of this MP3 Unsigned's artists tracks by now, it's been a bit of an on and off affair largely because I am not a big fan of electronica and certainly not the dance-y kind. However, there are times when MSL step off the dance floor and then it does make a visit worthwhile. Last month I reviewed The Thread Of Life, an orchestral peice which hung together resp
Right here we go, firstly I'll pre-empt this by saying I do not class Dance as one of my chosen areas, in fact you would be hard pressed to see me on a dance floor (not a pretty sight I can tell you ;o)) So I shall attempt to review this with a dancing type persons head on! This track opens with a nice build up which makes you want to listen to find out what is going to happen, I can imagin
This is the second time I have reviewed this artist This one I can relate to a lot more than the last track. Anyways lets stat up with the melody, yeah that’s a cool melody. Reminds me of Robert miles track called children. Really dreamy feel to it. Nice atmosphere with the drums and a real clean production and very tastefully done. Im not a big fan of trance but I deffo like what I am hearing w
Ok maybe I have put this one off for long enough, I been trying to get words out for the past couple days to do this review and it’s been hard. a little story first hand may clear a few things up. once upon a time lol sorry I don’t know if people know how hard this reviewing can be. Right here goes from 1991 -1998 I spent a fair few years on the wheels of steel. Loved a lot of the time, and
This track is insane! and i love it, takes me back to playing on my gameboy! What makes it stand out from the crowd for me is the fact that its so different, and sounds very well produced too! i have it playing in the background as im writing this and i cant stop smiling its just feels so happy. The song has great structure as well, about a minuite or so in it breaks into a slightly different
MP3 Unsigned's MSL dwell in a musical world that doesn't always appeal to me - electronica in general and trance/dance in particular. However, over the last couple of tracks they have provided for review they have aquitted themselves honorably - especially for musicians so young (16 and 17 respectively). Where they do well is in the final product, with mixes that are sharp, clear and i
MSL is an MP3 Unsigned artist who specialises in a music I don't really have a lot of time for - trance. See, the problem with trance/techno/whatever - at least for those people listening sitting down - is that instrumentals aren't really all that gripping to listen to. Great fun when you are off your face and out clubbing with your mates undoubtedly, but distinctly non-pc for those co
Now before we get down to the dirty, let me put in my usual 'techno is not really my thing' disclaimer just so it's understood upfront that whether I like this or not is down to personal preferences - simply because most techno doesn't interest me. It still wouldn't stop me appreciating a work of musical coherence and on that score MSL have nothing to worry about because Keep It High certain
