Superhuman is the solo work of guitarst/composer Dave Kelly from Dublin, Ireland. I've been playing guitar and experimenting with various forms of music from death metal and rock to trance and electronica over the past 10 years. Composing, playing and recording instrumental guitar music has always been my true calling so that's what I'm finally doing!.
I am currently writing and recording material for my debut cd - 'Deus Ex Machina' (God in the Machine) - maybe some day I will get it completed and 'out there'.
I am a 100% self-thought guitarist, I play by ear and know pretty much nothing about music theory - what little I do know is from piano lessons I took s a kid, Bach and Mozart mainly. I've developed as a guitarist by being able to see the tones on the fretboard in patterns from having a good ear - don't ask me to the name the strings on my guitar because I probably couldn't!
For the gear sluts out there, I use the following equipment: Ibanez Jem with Dimaraio Breed pickups, Ibanez Prestige with EMG 81.85 pickups, and Ernie Ball Music Man 7 string Petrucci signature guitar. I also use a 5 string Washburn Bantam BB5 bass. I have culled my ridiculously large rig of rack mounted gear to a Rocktron Prophesy II for all tone generation and speaker simulation. Basically I record everything through that (including bass) directly into Cubase SX3 via an M-Audio Delta 1010 soundcard. I also use a Mackie HUI DAW controler to stop me from pulling my hair out using a mouse.
