Back for more and stil its a massive tune.Love the mayhem.Thinking about ya bud, hope your okay.
This is the kind of song you get competely lost in... Great job!
hey Andy! this certainly does send me into confusion! (not a bad thing- good excuse to be like that for a change) - nice and different cool track RATED
I like that King Crimsony riff to begin with. Mutates nicely into a sound you can almost grab hold of. Good work m8
I think its impressive that you can turn out interesting acid tunes with your disability. Inspiring really. Great job
this track is a ....! awesome evilness
Bit late but...lovin' this. It's manic with a capital M. Nicely produced, bangin' tune totally out of control. Martin
Sorry im late on this ... this is a damn good techno tune.Squeals of acid madness, my heart rate thinks its been on a rollercoaster ride..the answer to that is ...i just have.Pitchbend on the acid leadline was a very nice touch and the double lead later was knockout. The production and arrangement was nicely done. The tune had me smiling all day.Easy rate. Pete
Late out the block but... ....Feck me. One wouldn't need any lysergic to let this get under the skin. ttttrrrrrriiiiippppppppppyyyyy!
mad tune dude....very nice.
Hi Andy,i have no idea what a good techno track is but i like this one!!
Hi Andy.... Firstly, you're a little cutie!! Burst of enthusiasm! (Don't worry, I'm not a guy!!!) I'm the sister in the bro/sis duo. This is cool, really well put together. Very intricite, with so much going on yet not at all messy, fair play!! It's a tad prodigy-esque and mischievious!!! Like it.
Holy sh....t Andy. I didn't think I was going to like this as much as I did. So much goin on yet there is really no sensory overload. Great ending too. You have a new fan here....R
Hi Andy. Howya doin? Just like to say thank you very much for the constructive comments on my debut track for this site. Much appreciated mate! Dance Floor Cofusion, NOISEY! I love it! Sorry I can't add much to that as Im not that good with the technical jargon at the moment! Please have a listen to my latest upload, you might like where it's coming from. I hope.
hey Andy, first off thanks for the extended constructive comments on my 'Retro-State', please get back to check other tracks sometime. This track is a little 'hard' for me! -But all the production sounds neat and perfectly together, i like the rif change towards the end and a perfect 'tail-out' to finish off a good all round piece of techno production. I'm gona go check your other tunes out...
Clicked on this from your chart placing Andy and what a treat!! The build to 3:12 is brilliant and all the parts are so well mixed for my ears......would like a harder kick but everything else is so up my street I forgot that wish very quickly :) Kevin Mooney
Love the way this builds Andy, very good. Great tension created in the lead melody by using notes outside the key, gives it the acid/trippy feel you were going for. Bass could do with a boost but other than that very well constructed and produced track. Rated. Craig
Loving this slower type techno, nice arp on the intro, and i'm a big fan of the 303/808 sound, and it goes mental at 3.12 mark, one small crit is that the bottom end could do with a bit of a pump up, but still gets a rate from us.
wow one way to put this track is really kick ass acids, such a nice tone to it too. and i can see where u got the title from the confusing hard lead synth in the background. its is quite slow but appropriate for its structure and drums build along very nicely, and another detuned synths bangs in and track really starts taking off into this awesome massive build up. oh kick roll heading to a climax and this really awesome, great sound on all the spots of the sound spectrum trully fills it from low to high lol. nice hard feeling quite opposite of what i do but i like it, enjoyed, great job, pro production and Rated!!! Matt
There used be a song, back a while now, called Popcorn and the intro synth sound reminded a bit of that! But then you really crank the generator on it! almost sounding like a Jew's harp now! Really cool! got some pulsating bass note and kick! The percussion is really good! Love the synth lines! And a very curt ending! Dance to this one all night! Enjoyed this!
Hiya Andy, some crazy ideas through this, think the track title is very well suited!! Anyways, enjoyed the variations through the track, and the outlandish ideas. Gets even crazier later on, but enjoyed. Deserves a rate. Sonya Stewart.
Nice squelchy track! Not sure on the tuning on some of the instrumentation, but I guess that adds to the "confusion" theme, which is a plus! Thumbs up from me!
Loving the intro Andy, that poppy sound is the hook for me and the acid bass lines are only second to the drum programming, which is awesome by the way, some great little fills in there with the high hats and cymbals...great fills and all sounds very detailed to me, very pro recording Andy, not as commercial as your last one, but I'm liking this a lot, gonna nab a download :)
I really like what I am hearing, wish I had subwoofers. Love the way the melody keeps taking on a different shape. Shape-Shifter, :), Anyway, really like it, driving and full of energy. All the best Deborah Ivri
Now there's some lively fun, very imaginative Andy! Nice beat, easy to envision some shakin' goin' on to this, and some quirky melody lines to keep it interesting. No production tips from me, I'm a rank beginner at production, but I like what I'm hearing so you must be doing something right! Well done, rated.
303 sounds are good,a nice slow pace to those, love that wee flickering at 47seconds:)nice ploddy beat, good progression on the main synth line, drums are doing the buissness:)a nice melody of madness coming together now, nice delays aor echos on those snares, deffo a dirty club sound, nice fade outs at the end, some cool sounds top job fella,
Awesome build with some very gripping synth work. Percussion is beautiful. The whole structure of the track is executed brilliantly. Production is spot on as is the complete track. The tempo may not be high but that takes nothing away from the drive of this pounder.Rated easy. Barry
Gr8 work andy. im no expert on techno, i love the slow pace this has, its a track that even if you speeded it up would sound just as good, but i think the bpm its at is perfect. xx
hello m8-ey - @ work on the headphones here and already liking that intro with the beepers - wow that is some dirty 303 action, layering the action and now into some mental rhythm. Strictly hardcore and totally techno, great stuff ma man, will get a listned on my rig later. r'ed np's. g
I love you acid stuff, not a better artist on the site doing this balls-to-the-wall type of stuff. Lot's to love here, you sure know how to build a track, layer upon layer, until it just locks into the groove and goes mental. All the synth lines are pure class, love the marimba/kalimba melody thing going all the way through, loads of variation on the main line as well, it weaving and modulating all over the place, again every now and again it locks into a groove and just goes off in almost pure euphoric style. By the end I was dancing and smiling like a fool lol, oh really like the rhythm track as well by the way, especially when it goes double time, what a build. Awesome stuff, cant rate it highly enough :)
that is some mighty cool 303 synth work dude :) acid techno for sure bro...so dam trippy :D I'd love to listen to this blitz or ripped to the tits :D...can see what you mean about confused...it does get rather hectic :) of course me loves that :) great wee groove on this top track dude :) thumbs up
Well, I started getting even more sick on Monday when my blood sugar counts would NOT balance no matter what. Since then I have not recooperated and am not doing well at all. This is not a complaint. It's a form of information telling those who are interested in my status. It's not good. Drs are running around with confused faces on their heads wondering, "What went wrong? We were doing so good!"Nobody knows what is happening to me. A 33 year old with Duchenne's Muscular Dystrophy is considered impossible or a miracle. I'm leaning towards a living miracle. I've fought for so long with this. I'm starting to wonder what for? I look at the children who didn't choose the treatment option: Steroids. Now I see children at the age of 16 dying of heart failure wondering, "Why wasn't that me?" So young. So early. I fight so that people can see treatment options WORK! But they're terrible on the system.I've lived with steroids/prednisone for my entire life. With asthma. With infections. With sickness. Prednisone was always the answer and still is. I may not be able to lift a single pound. But I'm one of the strongest men you'll find. I fight because I want to be stronger. I fight so that I can prove people wrong. I fight so I can make music. I fight for my wife to see me live another day. But I'm getting tired. My eyes are as heavy as my arms. They're slowly shutting. And I'm almost ready to go to sleep...
Yes, it's been a little bit known that I've been working on some tunes for a while and I haven't released anything for almost a year. I've been up and down in the health department so that distracts me. It's no excuse but I have been working on mainly just material. There is a couple songs in my library of "unfinishedness" that have some of these elements I've been working on in them.Mostly, it's been experimenting lately. Lots of reading, lots of education, lots of keeping up with the new technology while retaining the techniques of the old.Analog synthesizers are going for cheap these days and now is the best time to get your hands on one. DON'T WAIST TIME! Even if you can spend 10 minutes a day reading an article about anything music. Even if it means reading about something totally new to you. Ideas and motivation come from the oddest places. Keep an ear out! Andy
I would like to apologize about not being able to post lately. I know I have a review to finish. Unfortunately, I won't be able to finish it until I have recuperated. As most know, I have a lot of health problems and am bound to a motorized wheelchair along with being home bound and unable to leave my home as my body is extremely sensitive. What is happening is my pain level sky rocketed and Dr.s are thinking my Muscular Dystrophy is hitting near the final stage mark of the muscles becoming separated from the bones and the tendons begin separating from the muscles. Kind of like being torn apart from the inside. Hahaha! Well... It makes for good pain visions if you're into those sort of things. Anyway. I'll be undergoing some tests and may get a morphine drip. Or a nerve blocker installed into my body (I don't know where they implant them). Whatever action, they're on top of things so I'm sure I'll be back commenting and reviewing good as new fairly soon. I'm getting frustrated about having to become sick again every time I come back. I'll just have to keep coming back. Right? THAT'S RIGHT! I hope all are good and doing well. I miss you guys a lot and I'll be using my wife's laptop to make music. I'll be in bed for a bit but I'll make it out. I will. Ciao! Andy Stokes
So my journey to myself continues while I keep tapering down my pills dose by dose. Almost there. 2 months, max, I'd say. Been messing around with my gear a lot lately. For some reason it gets my mind off the trickery the withdrawal brings to my mind. I stay alert in the world of being sane and grow closer to the end of my descent like a plant foresting it's roots to the center of it's nutrients. It's all good in the neighborhood. The ideas are flowing. The video games are being played. Tomorrow I seek a movie. I'm tired of staying home with my misery. I'm going out no matter how bad the pain is. This motorized wheelchair doesn't stop me from achieving my goals. I've made many songs in my days and intend on making more. I'll have something nice for the acid freaks when I begin to comment again. You'll have something in return. I promise this. Have a great day and thanks for reading. Everybody have a great day! Andy Stokes
Even though I don't really have anything else better to do but sit around with my wife all day long and play video games and make music, I've been spending some quality time with movies lately. I've been catching up on some of em'. 30 Days of night or whatever it's called was pretty good. That was one of them.I've been working on music here and there and everywhere. I suffered a bad break with having going through pain management due to my pain from having Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. That set me back in my music area quite a bit but now that I'm feeling better, I've been working on some new stuff. An ambient song, a groove song, and a techno song. Been messing around with Essences' voice a bit too so I can practice and delve into the vocal world. I'm thinking a break beat song would be good for the sample she graciously handed out. I'm not very good at it! hahahaha! I'm an honest person and that's the truth!Well for all of you that actually read this, thank you for your interest. Hopefully you'll be seeing another good track from me soon! Have a great day everybody and enjoy the spring!
I've been working to perfect some old songs of mine to make them sound better and more fuller. I've added a couple new ones and have more. I just need to pay my space for more songs :D When funds become available, I'll be sure to add them as soon as possible. Hope you all have a great day and thank you for reading this!
Hi. Each month I'll be adding another MP3 slot so keep on the look-out for more of my songs. Andy
Considering that, of all the genres, techno is my main hate figure, Andy Stokes got away prettty lightly when I reviewed the very first track from him. Dance Floor Confusion escaped the Gilmore scalpel by dint of the fact that the track was more dance than techno, at least in my opinion. It worked very well through a big sound system and that's the main thing with music of this type; l
Aceeed!! Damn, those were the days huh? Like many of us, I went through a dance phase, going out almost every night and dancing my socks off - usually more off my face than on it if you get my drift. I was getting a little long in the tooth when the rave scene exploded although I did, generally, get into the musical side of it. However, that was a long time ago now and musi
The title? Don't ask me, I haven't got a clue. Andy Stokes is a new name to me from PM3 Unsigned. He's a techno musician from the US, and his story sounds very familiar. Came into music through Playstation's Music program (it's either that, Ejay or Magix innit?), then turned to Fruity Studio (also my own production tool of choice) because of the limitations inherent in instant mu
