The Room (Remaster)
Great intro with a lovely arrangement and balance. It takes a few listens to really get an idea of the subtlety of the whole composition but well worth the time. Nice job.
Great lyrics. Vocals are unique and kept me tuned in to see how it was going to play out. I'm glad I stuck around. Thanks.
This is a grower....as the song goes on and you get the repeated choruses and the lovely laid back music with sweeeet leads....I felt really at home here so far from it being too long, it seemed a perfect length for me.
Great vocals guys, im sure i heard this one before? Nice words and superb instrumentation. Lovely warmth your producing here. Nice :) Mal
Pity there is not more time to check out all the amazing songs here in the back catalogues, glad you guys re uploaded Room, it's a beautiful song, haunting and so well produced. Great work James and Terry. Big thumbs, Gibbo
A really pleasant tune and great lyrics to boot. Hadnt heard this before and I was knocked out by both the superb vocals..harmonising so well..oooh I love that cello and inspired guitar. keith
This is such a gentle song and all the work you did doesn't show and we all know that's is called a job well done! Effortless is key here as if you let it, this will take you away for a little while. I love a song that takes you on a journey and makes you feel a certain way. This has that. Lovely gentlemen.
Great track wonderful intro and equally great vocals. Very captivating, thanks for re-posting this I missed it first time round...............David
Two great artists equal one super sounding song! Terry opens with his unmistakeable vox and James adds that unmistakeable voice of his own to really complement one another. Sorry I missed this first time around. Dig that guitar at the 5:00s mark. Choice! Normaly I'd say this was too lengthy a song but it works so well that it seems like only a scant couple of minutes have passed when it's over. Enjoyed this! -Mike
Thanks for the work on re-mastering...remember the struggles to record the cello (heck all the other parts too :) on this...and the back and forth of the development...great vocals from you James...memory lane...nice place to walk through :)
Still loving this one! Especially from 4:25 on... awesome way to finish the tune!!
An easy vote, has loads of charm, I love the key changes before the 3:00 mark. Has anyone said you sound sort of like David Byrne? (a very cool thing!) No wonder this is number one, it deserves to be! top quality song-writing, and to top it off a supremely cool Electric guitar solo, counterpointed with a haunting Cello! Brilliant stuff! Cheers, Andrew
What a great storytelling song. Love the subtle drum kit here, really clean drums! This is great!
Where oh where is Bernadette (WaVeS), she would have loved it! I do, the perfect pitch of the singing and the de-tuned flange (?) on the mellow guitar. Downloaded and recommended and thankyou to the charts for bringing me here.
This is a real beauty here. Such tenderness in the whole project.
Very pro collab here Terry and James.the cello is a cool.Great vision on the arrangment lads and even though i like dance its great to here mellow tracks like this. The percs are mixed so well and have a cool pattern.Nice one
Can't stop listening to this - well rated!!! Christy ;)
Congratulations on the number 1 slot Terry and James.Very well deserved.
Hi Terry and James, it's a brilliant collaboration you done here and I wanted to congratulate you as this is a very well deserved No.1. PJ
Amazing track guys. Lovely indie twist on the folk acoustic. Really calming although it also reminds me of a Dara O'Briain joke about people without curtains, lol. Easy vote, rate and all that, lol ;) ps - Thanks for the lovely comment James ;)
Bloody hell what a treat. Incredibly captivating vocals and a class piece of musicology. Something nice and different. Thimbs up.
Vocals turn out fine but actually I think could do with more work -odd note is slightly out - but hey - look who's talking(!) - I hope this get up in the chart to inspire a bit more collaboration and imaginative use of instrumentation - this is NOT a random vote but definate appreciation of the potential for this project. ( the teenage audience present even gave a bit of a sideways nod through the long greasy hair - " ... it's alright....." - jon
nice dreamy quality about this track, I like the natural progression through the arrangement, it goes where it needs to go without restriction. the story, the orchestration, the lead section, easy to tell, you let it flow.
I see you have updated this one. I'm still loving this tune - ESPECIALLY the ending. I gotta get a cello! Thanks for the newer download!
Really great song Terry/James. Very well done.
This track intices you in from the start musically. You remind me of coming across a live music stage at a festival and you stay and enjoy the tracks. The song is clear and delivered well ;) Would be best delivered live I am sure :) chilled sound. Enjoyed alot :) Ess X
Beautiful intro, that cello sounds so rich and full in the mix. Interesting lyric, clearly sung, your voices work really well together. Nice accompaniment, sitting right where it needs to be, all in all a very well constructed tune. Enjoyed my listen, thumbs up!
Thanks for your kind comments James on my track. I thought I would return the listen and glad I did! Timeless has been mentioned and it certainly is that. Love the Cello in the intro. Vocals are clear and precise and the production is first class. Rated for sure. Take Care Andy :)
Lovely cool intro. Is there a flange/phase effect on the guitar? If it were me, I would be tempted to reduce the effect, it's a little distracting. But it's not my tune so I'll shut up. I get a feel of King Crimson for some reason. (Which is good). I like it, it's different. Thumbzup.
I like the lyric and the idea behind the lyric. Well done on that dudes. Chorus is mint too. Verses I'm not as struck on musically but don't mind me cos i'm only on me 1st listen. Sustained ending is cool as erik mentions with a maybe on the protrusiveness of the lead guitar but it soon mellows. The drums in this section with the double beat at the start of some bars are possibly a little heavy-handed and in some other places just a little loud for what I would have expected in this type of track. The randomesque ending is really nice and is right up my street. 2nd listen now - 1st line on vocal isn't an immdeiate ear grabber until "shades of colours". Chorus is still mint though!! 2nd verse is easier on the ears because I reckon there are fewer words to deliver. Hey it's just an honest 1st/2nd opinion so don't take it all that seriously. Thumzup for all the good things like the middle eight (forgot to mention that). Good luck with this transatlantic partnership.
very chilled track . Cellos are always a hit . Is that wah guitar in the mix ? Works well
very nice written piece.. I like the harmonies and the percussion elements the most.. sounds very professional! ;)
it's very different :) not sure it's something I would normally listen...musically different too... good work if it's all done live :) and thanks James for the comment on my page...inspiration for the title came from the narration...Hansel & Gretel..."Meat Sweets" :) btw loved the cello...peace,Ricky
I like the sound of the guitars and drums on this - nicely placed and not too overbearing (unlike what I would do!-LOL!) Cool harmonizing on the chorus too. The music during the solo AND the solo itself - EXCELLENT!!!! THis has a nice laid-back feel to it. I like that it's a longer track also -rather than a 3 minute track or something like that - cause it gives me a chance to feel comfortable within the music. I LOVE THIS LONG MUSICAL ENDING - THAT TURNED THIS SONG EVEN COOLER THAN I ALREADY THOUGHT IT WAS!!! DAMN!!! NICE WORK!!
Different, good way different... Music has alot of quality...The melody is very calming and the lyrics are alot of depth...Vocals for a live recording are pretty good... Tone is kept quite well and the balance of backing and lead in the hook is solid also!.. Live and raw and this what proper music is,. Nothing here is fake, its real artists showing their ideas and sharing their ideas with anyone who wants to listen... Thank you for sharing!
This is such a mellow song.Beautiful vocals from you both.Your voices compliment each other so well. The simplicity of this song is what makes it such a great track.Have voted. All the best John and Paul
This is a wonderful song. It has a timeless quality to it. Hope to hear more from you two.
This is very interesting. I don't quite know what genre to put this in but I do find it soothing. Nice songwriting! Great job and keep the faith!
Hi Guys, this is a great piece! Love the cello! Thumbs for stepping up to the plate with this track!
I Love it
This song has one of the best intros I have heard in a long time. The whole track is unique and full of emotion. Big thumbs up for the cello. I think that instrument is what really did it for me with this song.
Hi Terry and James, this is a truly wonderful collaboration and you two sound great together. A lovely laid back track but I can feel the emotion in this. Truly wonderful and I very much look forward to hearing more from you two as a duo. Voted. PJ
