Heart of Ice (wt Phil McC)
this is a fantastic song lyrics and music ,very catchy love it ,you write some great songs thumbs up ..........tonyc
An excellent vocal and a wonderful energy to this song. Lots of good things to hear in this track and a great production. Very much enjoyed!
Any collaboration the two of you pursue is of special interest to me since I find your individual offerings to be of consistently high quality. HEART OF ICE is exactly what I would expect from you; a beautifully composed, performed, and recorded piece. Music that immediately grabs my attention and leaves me feeling better than I felt before.
I'm feeling your Northern soul man, within your motown soul!! This is special!! Love the Gibette's, they really reflect the genre and add excellent harmonics!! Vocals and lyrics are completely solid and I'm loving it all mate!! Deserved chart position man!! Take care bud!! Baz
Hi Kevin and thanks for the kind words on 'Funny Man' The comedian I wrote the song about was named Tommy Trinder and was an old music hall artiste. The holiday camp I worked at that season so long ago was Butlins (or Pontins … not sure) in South Wales, UK. Cheers, Ray.
soul with a modern twist and it sounds cool this takes me back a bit well done folks
Came back for another listen to this great track. Well done guys.
Nice song...
Pleasant sound and interesting lyrics. Nice arrangement. I enjoyed
Phil has a soft spot for that Northern Soul style, and you have picked up on his energy and carried it along...together you guys have rocked this contemporary expression of soul. The track has so many delicious elements that reveal Phil's attention to style and sound. Kevin, your vocal is a hand-in-glove fit for this music..timbre, style, energy...seems to come up within...nice to hear you let it out. Kudos guys!
Excellent top line sir... Great fun working on this with Gibbo, and his backing singers :)
Sweet Track, think it has more a pop vibe to my ears, but music is music and this is a well crafted piece, nice one
A nice upbeat, catchy song. I know it says it's soul, but it's got a pop feel to it and yeah, reminiscent of the 80's. Nice vocals, sounding a bit like phil collins. Good collaboration. Good lyrics.
What a great little number! Certainly redolent of the 1980's and it moves along so well. Vocal work is excellent in this great up-beat song. I like the lyrics too.
The Gibbettes? hmmmm....surely not?...can't be? ...no relation of the Sockettes I suppose? No? Thank flip for that :-) Seriously tho...excellent song...up-beat ...rattles along at an insistent gallop ..."but" :-) the cream on the top is that superb vocal you possess. Brill! k
80s is calling to me. Good production and nice up front vox. Busy drums drive the whole. Enjoyable little number.
Hey Kevin please delete my earlier comment. You we're looking or asking for a critique on the tune. After a few more listens I think a tweak here and there on the vocal volume in the mix is all that is needed! It really is a great song with a classic Motown Soul feel!
Great collab guys! Vocals are particularly good, and those Gibbettes are a real treat :) Nice work with the accompaniment, Phil. Very innovative take on soul, definitely a tune that's gonna loop awhile. More!
A Tuesday Paradox was formed in 2008, a duo, Kevin "Gibbo" Gibbons and Byron Jones.
Byron Jones escaped the Paradox in Dec 2012 but his talent remains on this page.
Tony Gibbons wrote, sings and plays guitar on Never Gonna Let This Die, Byron on keys, Gibbo, more guitars and production.
CORINNE came to sing on "A Christmas Lament" and was responsible for writing and singing "Simple Things" with some musical accompaniment from Jones, Gibbons and Wigmore
Cure-ish, Floyd-ish and something else here that you bring to the table..gentle with a pinch of sadness and a latent strength all hidden just beneath the surface that glides and glistens between my ears. Absolutely lovely.
