Took me back this one Steve, loved cop show music! The Crusaders and Brass Construction etc, anyway great tune and first rate production, really enjoyed this.
Yeah, pick any 70's show ...heck even a movie like Shaft......lots of that 70's band sound...horns...organs...guitar wahs...slap bass...LOTS of FUN! Indeed! Nice trip down the 70's strip! Did we get all the bad guys? ;) Thumbs!
Steve Wilde - 2011 Online Biography
As a 38 year old musician and 70's child, I've worked through the 80's and the dark days of juggling with trigger pre midi, the early days of sampling, through to the 90's and the advances in computer based sequencing, vst's and such, the same as many of us. When the Roland Fantom G8 was released it was like a breath of fresh air, the things that had always sat between the hardware and my creative ideas had suddenly disappeared. Okay, it isn't perfect, Rolands support has been poor and it won't give you the flexiblity of a proper DAW/VST setup, but it enables me to quickly realize my visions as best as my ability will allow me. And as my ability has grown, the Fantom has grown with me.
To be honest, even with 30 years experience and the ability to play many instruments, I am not the musician I dream of being, but the Fantom has realized so many of my dreams and made me much more productive and confident than I have ever been before. Like many of us out there, I have never been a comfortable live performer so I have developed my technical and compositional strengths to compensate for this. I am still however led by a desire to discover new sounds and inspirations, a never ending journey for me. My influences are as eclectic as my style, whether it be studio polished or indigenous, soul or Stockhausen, so long as it is honest it is good by me.
All of the songs on here (unless stated) are my originals and were written, performed & programmed by me. The original songs are free to use for non-commercial or non-profit-making projects albeit with prior permission from me.
Thanks for checking out my page and please take a moment to leave me a comment.
However, in the meantime, keep making honest music (on whatever equipment you possess), and enjoy and appreciate what you can do, and not pity what you can't.
Kind regards,
Steve Wilde
