Ghost Dreamer
damn andy didnt know you was into trance, robo cop meets termiantor, gr8 track
Missed this first time around. Glad i found it though. That intro line is so catchy and sticky. Throws your head around a bit. That's a good thing. Ghostly pads which build on each other is grand too. Has the Andy Stokes sound going on. This is also good. Top stuff dude. :)
Andy, this track has to be in the next version of the computer game (Attack All Humans). What is very cool about this tune bud is your thinking out of the box and looking in at different angles! The hypnotic lead synth is truly mint, grapped hold of me and would not let go holding on like some analogue leach. The big bass that shows itself later on icing on the cake, fills the track out nicely. The b-movie feel to the piece is sweet. The more i hear... the more i'm trance fixed.Well worth the hard work that you put into this tune Andy.Clever work me thinks, thumbs up from me bud.
This is like a virus - highly infectious! And it spreads and grows until you can't get it out of your brain! Rate!
The kick when it drops is nicely compressed and it pulses sweetly against the sci-fi like riff -I am not sure that when the percussion enters -it could have been a synth voice instead - just a thought - I like the breathy fx and sweeps in the breakdown and the new synth voice which has a cool melody - The build is good and this leads us into what is generally the climax section in trance - perhaps this could have been bigger - but I liked the melody and the outro is a reprise of the sci-fi theme and it fades out sweetly - All in all a good track.
Glad I finally made it here. Took me friggin long enough. This is really great music. Inventive as hell. Easy Rate for me. Better late than never..Thanks Andy
Not a genre I'm overfamiliar with but I'd like to thank you for the opening hook, it is now well bedded into my brain! This piece builds up nicely, no part outstays its welcome and it is very well produced. Love the rhythm parts on it.Rated accordingly... P.S thanks for your comments
think this has to be my favourite of all your tracks Andy, liking the melody and the build later on and as ever clean all-round sound to it- rated!
Hiya Andy, touch of difference with this trance-sonic track, some great little hooky synthy parts. Sweet little number. Well produced track. Gets a rate! Sonya Stewart.
Lead synth line is infectious! Excellent build up, almost creates a smooth 'volume curve' throughout the track! Cool little track, I reckon it'd suit a 2d game-type-thing! Rated :)
Hey Andy, Not a bad sound at all, not what i was execting, but non the less done realy well. I Love all th componants of the track, even the little orta synth line that seems to e out of step with the rest of the track (I must admit it bothered me but after 3 listens I can see why its like that) I can see what marty is getting at with his comments about certain aspects of the mix,but yet again to me it works because its not quite a usual mix for this kind of track. All in all I enjoyed it and liked the unusual aspects of the track. Well done. Steve
very much enjoyed track, very inventive unusual synth lines used, loved it all :) Rated
I was wondering who you were and left me a great few comments bud! Appreciate it alot and i think its about time i left you one! lol Ok to the track! Interesting wee porta seq intro, Kick sounds pretty solid to me. Like the ufo sfx! hahah Reminds me of this 60s and 70s sci fi shows! lol Ah wait for.... thats the spot. Nice wee build into that bassline and everythings starting to build very nicely! Like those big percussive drums but if you ask me are a little too loud in the mix and kinda drown out the bass. Try turning those down a bit so that the bass is coming thru or maybe it might be an EQ thing. Ok hit the first breakdown and you have brought in a nice sounding saw pad with a nice wee synth! Sounding like a great build! Well it was good but it could be better, kind of a let down but i think its mainly to do with those perc drums being so loud in the mix. All in all thoo not a bad track at all, i think it needs a bit of fine tuning to really get the most out of the track. Id start by giving it a btter mix and then mastering it to really bring the mix to life life. Anyways best of luck with it bud! marty
i see ur style and i like it, the overall affect is good and i like the toms on the rhythm. have a rate.
well those are some freaky synths to start the track off, that realy sounds like ghosts. wow gated pad sounds hypnotic, lol. u played with the kick quite well however the choice of kick? a little poppy in my opion. i like the bassline not the track is starting to kick off. percussion is quite well when u add those bongos. now leads, massive build up i might say. all in all its a cool track, not into the psy trance genre myself but not bad at all. enjoy my ratings :p Matt
really cool id love to hear some vocals or vincent price
Hi Andy nice build to this, really like the lead synth sound...very ghost like indeed :) great beats and that tom break is really cool, this is a really good infectious track mate, well done :)
Very hypnotic intro dude. Very solid bass and kick. Percussion is mad mate. Its building all the time with cool synths dude. Gets a rate from me. Baz
nice intro, likin that 50s type scifi synth its very good, comes in nicely after the snare roll, some nice wee beats, good use of percs, toms are sweet, nice synths there 2,great track enjoyed that good stuff,
nice slice of tech trance...probably leaning more to techno :) very nice intro and build from the intro...cool synths all the way...and some really nice beats :) another fine track andy :) thumbs up m8
Well, I started getting even more sick on Monday when my blood sugar counts would NOT balance no matter what. Since then I have not recooperated and am not doing well at all. This is not a complaint. It's a form of information telling those who are interested in my status. It's not good. Drs are running around with confused faces on their heads wondering, "What went wrong? We were doing so good!"Nobody knows what is happening to me. A 33 year old with Duchenne's Muscular Dystrophy is considered impossible or a miracle. I'm leaning towards a living miracle. I've fought for so long with this. I'm starting to wonder what for? I look at the children who didn't choose the treatment option: Steroids. Now I see children at the age of 16 dying of heart failure wondering, "Why wasn't that me?" So young. So early. I fight so that people can see treatment options WORK! But they're terrible on the system.I've lived with steroids/prednisone for my entire life. With asthma. With infections. With sickness. Prednisone was always the answer and still is. I may not be able to lift a single pound. But I'm one of the strongest men you'll find. I fight because I want to be stronger. I fight so that I can prove people wrong. I fight so I can make music. I fight for my wife to see me live another day. But I'm getting tired. My eyes are as heavy as my arms. They're slowly shutting. And I'm almost ready to go to sleep...
Yes, it's been a little bit known that I've been working on some tunes for a while and I haven't released anything for almost a year. I've been up and down in the health department so that distracts me. It's no excuse but I have been working on mainly just material. There is a couple songs in my library of "unfinishedness" that have some of these elements I've been working on in them.Mostly, it's been experimenting lately. Lots of reading, lots of education, lots of keeping up with the new technology while retaining the techniques of the old.Analog synthesizers are going for cheap these days and now is the best time to get your hands on one. DON'T WAIST TIME! Even if you can spend 10 minutes a day reading an article about anything music. Even if it means reading about something totally new to you. Ideas and motivation come from the oddest places. Keep an ear out! Andy
I would like to apologize about not being able to post lately. I know I have a review to finish. Unfortunately, I won't be able to finish it until I have recuperated. As most know, I have a lot of health problems and am bound to a motorized wheelchair along with being home bound and unable to leave my home as my body is extremely sensitive. What is happening is my pain level sky rocketed and Dr.s are thinking my Muscular Dystrophy is hitting near the final stage mark of the muscles becoming separated from the bones and the tendons begin separating from the muscles. Kind of like being torn apart from the inside. Hahaha! Well... It makes for good pain visions if you're into those sort of things. Anyway. I'll be undergoing some tests and may get a morphine drip. Or a nerve blocker installed into my body (I don't know where they implant them). Whatever action, they're on top of things so I'm sure I'll be back commenting and reviewing good as new fairly soon. I'm getting frustrated about having to become sick again every time I come back. I'll just have to keep coming back. Right? THAT'S RIGHT! I hope all are good and doing well. I miss you guys a lot and I'll be using my wife's laptop to make music. I'll be in bed for a bit but I'll make it out. I will. Ciao! Andy Stokes
So my journey to myself continues while I keep tapering down my pills dose by dose. Almost there. 2 months, max, I'd say. Been messing around with my gear a lot lately. For some reason it gets my mind off the trickery the withdrawal brings to my mind. I stay alert in the world of being sane and grow closer to the end of my descent like a plant foresting it's roots to the center of it's nutrients. It's all good in the neighborhood. The ideas are flowing. The video games are being played. Tomorrow I seek a movie. I'm tired of staying home with my misery. I'm going out no matter how bad the pain is. This motorized wheelchair doesn't stop me from achieving my goals. I've made many songs in my days and intend on making more. I'll have something nice for the acid freaks when I begin to comment again. You'll have something in return. I promise this. Have a great day and thanks for reading. Everybody have a great day! Andy Stokes
Even though I don't really have anything else better to do but sit around with my wife all day long and play video games and make music, I've been spending some quality time with movies lately. I've been catching up on some of em'. 30 Days of night or whatever it's called was pretty good. That was one of them.I've been working on music here and there and everywhere. I suffered a bad break with having going through pain management due to my pain from having Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. That set me back in my music area quite a bit but now that I'm feeling better, I've been working on some new stuff. An ambient song, a groove song, and a techno song. Been messing around with Essences' voice a bit too so I can practice and delve into the vocal world. I'm thinking a break beat song would be good for the sample she graciously handed out. I'm not very good at it! hahahaha! I'm an honest person and that's the truth!Well for all of you that actually read this, thank you for your interest. Hopefully you'll be seeing another good track from me soon! Have a great day everybody and enjoy the spring!
I've been working to perfect some old songs of mine to make them sound better and more fuller. I've added a couple new ones and have more. I just need to pay my space for more songs :D When funds become available, I'll be sure to add them as soon as possible. Hope you all have a great day and thank you for reading this!
Hi. Each month I'll be adding another MP3 slot so keep on the look-out for more of my songs. Andy
Considering that, of all the genres, techno is my main hate figure, Andy Stokes got away prettty lightly when I reviewed the very first track from him. Dance Floor Confusion escaped the Gilmore scalpel by dint of the fact that the track was more dance than techno, at least in my opinion. It worked very well through a big sound system and that's the main thing with music of this type; l
Aceeed!! Damn, those were the days huh? Like many of us, I went through a dance phase, going out almost every night and dancing my socks off - usually more off my face than on it if you get my drift. I was getting a little long in the tooth when the rave scene exploded although I did, generally, get into the musical side of it. However, that was a long time ago now and musi
The title? Don't ask me, I haven't got a clue. Andy Stokes is a new name to me from PM3 Unsigned. He's a techno musician from the US, and his story sounds very familiar. Came into music through Playstation's Music program (it's either that, Ejay or Magix innit?), then turned to Fruity Studio (also my own production tool of choice) because of the limitations inherent in instant mu
