Farewell
It's been a long time since visiting your page here, James~ and in listening to this creation of yours, clearly I remember your outstanding talents! I adore the peaceful feeling this track gives to me... really a lovely arrangement, beautifully performed!! =Bravo= I still cherish the collaborations we had done together, thank you again! (:(hope all is well for you):)
I like the string and piano together. Very harmonic. Good beginning. To the point. It works good! It really does sound like a love story. Wow. Sounds very sad. The melody to the piano is great. Very changing in pace. You go into the alterations very nice. Awwwww, dude. Now it picks up with some drums. NICE drops, man. I like those a lot! Sweet stuff. I'm at the middle. It's very quiet. I like the long piano tones but it's a little to pianoey to me. But I'm not a fan of the piano even though I want to learn it better. Don't get me wrong. I respect it. Oooooo. The transition into the big heavy string with the cymbal and the toms really fly at you. It feels like a movie trailer and the couple is trying to escape from something and then AHHH! It ends. Sum of Mr. Stokes... I liked it, man. It sounded epic. I did have a little sense that someone should be singing but then the feeling went away when the big surprise came. Maybe throw the voice idea out...? Who knows, man. All I know is that it was a strong mix and every thing sounded so crystal clear, I thought I was going to walk into an invisible wall 0_-#. Awesome stuff, man. Have a rate! I hope it turns out the way you want it to sound. :D
Very nice straigh from the opening bar. Beautiful piano playing, really like this piece. Some very nice changes, keeps the piece organic and moving at a nice pace. Wasn't expecting the drums to come - axcellent change at that section. Lovely ending, rated and nominated.
Hiya Kopio, Had a re-listen, yes the piano has improved & different reverb on other sounds has improved the track immensely, I have a feeling it may be a type of piano used that is needed to add that ‘sparkle’, I understand it’s not a grand piano, and I know pianos are the most difficult to get that ‘special’ sound. Constructive comm only, I like this track very much, and I just have a feeling it may be the type of piano that needs to change - & everything else is perfect. I will listen out, if you are maybe able to improve the piano further. You are doing a great job! Sonya Stewart.
Very sorry for my poor grammer James, I'm full of Christmas festivities.
Way out of my depth on this track James. So many variations at work here and yet gets back to basic's. Love the delicate piano work's. The Finale is awesome though. Well done and rated. Barry
Nice evocative piece James, and the piano has a rather uniqique sound really,Eastern European in texture.A little disjointed in places which interrupts the flow. The drama introduction at 4.15 is epic!Moves swiftly along and is of quality. The percussion has lots of energy. Hats off James. Easily rated my friend. Take Care Andy :)
Hiya Kiopo, Nice piece - very emotive & dramatic at some parts - I am inclined to agree with Andy, feel the piano sound need s to be improved - make much clearer sounding - I think some vocals will be nice on this - if this is the vision you have for it, rather than just an instrumental, I'm sure it will be great either way. Will listen out for any further progress with this track! Sonya Stewart
real nice listen, but being a songwriter myself im struggling piecing together a vocal melody stucture. I dont actually think its possible, maybe someone will proove me wrong. theres just so many things going on with the piano melody and other stuff. Its a nice piece tho.
Nice work brother James, but I can't picture vocals to this. A little polishing and I think you'll have it. Nice dramatic ending bro. A very imaginitive listen.
reminds me of yann tiersen, minimal classical sounding, story is well telld, but it will be difficult to sing on i think. but the instrumental stands as is. r'd
I love this piece most when the new theme enters at around 3 minutes - (This is my first listen so if it isn't a new theme that's just me being a poor listener) Yes I think vocal additions will add something special. Look forawrd to hearing those. I was a bit surprised when the rock drums enetered - have to listen again. There is a lot of beauty in this - glad to see you are keeping up the good work.
AndyF has a challenger here. This is lush and evocative, a stunningly rich piece. Great movement and subtle vibes, great piece.
Excellent piece James. Really nice melodies from the piano and the orchestral parts are soaring and emotive. Really well composed. Rated. Craig
I'm a little dissapointed in the tone of the piano - it sounded out of place with the rest of the instruments and their higher quality sound. Maybe too much reverb on the piano dude. It just sounded muddy and boomy. Maybe this is intentional? Look forward to hearing the finished work.
i can really appreciate your sound quality. this style of music is really hard to compose (at least for me) and im jealous, but at the same time happy for you. The piano is beautiful, and it doesn't sound midi to me, sounds like a high quality piano.
I like it a lot. You have huge composition skills. I'd like to learn how to do things like this. I'm picturing a sad lover that has lost all hope.. until 1:45, when a change of direction occurs. I did notice a short cymbal that seemed out of place to me at 2:08, but I'm not worthy to judge. It has real commercial sound track q. I caught something at 3:31; "I really don't know love at all" chords? Gest huge at 4:10! Look forward to hearing the finished product. Rates at the very least!
talk about not being qualified to judge !. all i can say is its really nice to listen to. varied aswell. it sounds good to me for whatever thats worth coming from a techno / drum and bass producer!
Ah Am!, my favourite chord (well I do like folk music :-) Now I think reading your thread in forum that this is just the beginning, if so it's got a lot of potential, interesting, as I was listening I could hear in my mind additions, like in the first part acoustic guitar maybe? Anyway, not that I am interfering, but piano parts are good, and when the string parts kick in, and kettle drums etc, it really does get quite powerful, well as a first "draft" it sounds very good, and I think this could develop into something rather excellent, and I will look forward to seeing how it develops.
Quite why I chose this track when Kiopo gave me a choice of what to review is pure serendipity because I had just finished reading something about Nelson Mandela only a couple of days before and this remarkable man was on my mind. Kiopo's choice was either something from his games music or from his band, why I chose this one God only knows because you know game soundtracks are not my special
Hello once again everyone! Sorry that this is another late review. It’s been over a week and I already should have been done with all these reviews. So again, I apologize for slacking off, especially when I waited so long to even write a review for this song, “Victims,” which is a very dramatic song in response to a set brief he did a while ago, commenting on ‘victims o
