The tuneless and bitter rantings of a frustrated idealist. Fuelled by coffee and despair.

There's not much to say. I'm a underpaid receptionist from Coventry, UK
who records the odd track in his spare time. I've played different
instruments in different bands and recorded a few demos. This is just
an outlet for my own material. It's not much, but I hope something on
here raises a smile. Also check out my old bandmate Paul James' website
under Modern Composers. (If he bothers sorting it out any time soon)
He's got a music degree so his music's better recorded and a lot
freakier than mine, but I'm sure you're feeling up to it, gentle reader.

I wear most of my influences pretty openly. I'm a big fan of Robert Smith and Jarvis from Pulp, and I listened to a great deal of music from the late 70's and 80's. After listening to too much Wire, I became an obsessive cutter, trying to state everything in as few bars as possible, and recording urgently to try and capture some of the energy of DIY punk music. I learnt pop classicism from David Bowie and The Beatles, and I try to use that grounding as a springboard to anywhere.
Also, I play too many computer games. That occasionally surfaces in some tracks. Hope you have a high tolerance for silly bright synthesizer noises. |
