I'm Aku Koskinen, born in 1987, living in Porvoo, Finland, started making music in 2000. By that time, it didn't feel like anything special to me. It was just playing around with various softwares. My first touch to producing music was with a software called "Acid Music" and it was just playing around with it. Soon after that I moved to a program called "Dance eJay".
In 2003 I had had "Dance eJay 1" and "Dance eJay 3". I finally got myself "Dance eJay 6", which I thought was amazing that time. I began to take music producing more seriously and got critics from my first "real" tracks made with DE6. And bad critics those were. But, I didn't give up and I learned from my mistakes.
I met a norwegian fellow eJayer at eJay-boards called T.G.L aka Henri O. Klungland (www.t-g-l.com). He had been a good friend of mine for a long time and I listened to his music for the first time in the beginning of 2004. I became a huge fan of his immedietly and absolutely adored his music. I loved it. In that very moment, I knew that I want to make music just like his.
Henri taught me almost everything related to producing music. He told me about a program called "Fruity Loops" which I remembered hearing something of and he told me that he was using that program. That program just seemed to be too advanced for me that time.
I was kinda stuck with DE6 and I had ran out of ideas with it. One day I asked Henri: "Is it just me, or is it just eJay buggering my ass?". Henri's answer was: "eJay"... And yes, he was right, it actually was eJay. After that, I moved to Fruity Loops. Henri taught me almost everything in it, and without him, I wouldn't make music like this these days. The biggest thank you belongs to him.

Well, I started to produce trance with "Fruity Loops Producer Edition 4" in 2004. I had met a lot of talented FL-users over the internet and I want to thank such artists like The Odd Dodo Project aka Chris Pearce from Germany (www.mp3unsigned.com/showband.asp?id=1296) and Idonotlikebroccoli aka Kristian Pedersen from Norway (www.kristian-pedersen.tk). Chris also taught me a lot in producing music and Kristian taught me some of it too.
I've been now using FL (upgraded to FL 5 PE) for about two years and I have got better and better all the time. I'm not sure if I've made my "breakthrough" yet, but if I have, then it's here to find. The genre, that I produce, is melodic trance with a pinch of classical music. My music is regocnized from its long breakdowns, which I prefer calling "calm parts". People have said that I make the best calm parts they've ever heard. I always try to make them as unique as possible and I try to get people recognize my music from them.
I'm still chilling at www.ejay.co.uk under my old artist-name "SamuraiKatana". Been there since the day I joined and still loving the community.
Have I got better in producing music for the last few years? Well, it's for you to decide! :)
Thank you for reading this. Enjoy my music! You can find the rest of my music at www.mikseri.net/valandir...
