My full name is Henri Oskar Klungland and I was born in 1988 on 16 September.
Although I was born and live in Norway, I'm also Finnish. My Mum married my Dad and moved to Norway about 25 years ago or so and I still live here.
Ever since I got my hands on the old Dance eJay 2 from a friend of mine (in 1999), I've been interested in producing music. It may have been making the most horrid cat screaming in the world at the start, but it didn't matter as long as I enjoyed making it.
It was Darude with his track Sandstorm that influenced me and kept me going at the start, but I later found many great artists like Armin van Buuren, Paul van Dyk, Ferry Corsten, Tiësto (etc etc) that even to this very day are still giving me inspiration for new tracks.
So, it all started with Dance eJay 2, but I when I was about 5 years old I sang in our local choir arranged by my pre-school. That is not very useful for the way I make music now, but it was good fun although I probably sang out of tune!
Later, I got Techno eJay 2 and new "wicked tunez" started popping out of my pc. From there, I've used most of the electronica related eJay products till Ibiza eJay.
I joined the great eJay community - that still can be found at www.ejay.co.uk - and from all the wonderful artists over there, I learnt almost everything I know now.
I'm still an active member over there, and I now try to share my knowledge in the hope of helping other artists like I was.
Around 2003 I got my hands on a product called ! Fruity Loops. (Now FL Studio - www.flstudio.com) It was the cooles, yet most complicated programme I had ever used or even heard of.
I had a good advantage though, of knowing ! Square Bear (www.square-bear.co.uk - Also an active member at ejay.co.uk), and he taught me the basics in Fruity Loops.
The best thing about it was that he gave me the source file for his track, Firestorm. It showed me how it was built. Now I could see all the theory I was taught in action!
From that moment I started using Fruity Loops as my main sequencer. Before that, I still used ejay but made bits and loops within Fruity Loops, to get the hang of it.
I made Joy wich came 2nd place on a summer competition held by TheLivingDream at eJay.co.uk. (I was on fiyah (fire), baby!) It really gave me more inspiration and that extra kick to keep doing what I did. I'm glad I did :)
People like to think I only listen to trance, and therefore categorize me. THAT IS NOT TRUE! I like many different types of music, from rock to hip hop, trance to ambient.
Some of my favourite artists (trance not included) are Keane, Travis, Enigma, Enya, Pet Shop Boys, Ronan Keating, Robbie Williams, Phil Collins, Elton John, The Corrs, The Prodigy, Laura Pausini and even the odd Eminem track! The list could go on forever, but this gives you a basic idea of what I like to listen to.
It all depends on the mood too.
My plans for the future is hopefully get a record deal and make that wicked track that is going to make me famous. It may not be today, may not be tomorrow, but one day! ONE DAY I TELL YA!
Now you wonder... Why on Earth am I called T.G.L?
The answer is simple... It may be so simple that it gets complicated! Or so complicated that it becomes amusingly simple!
A good friend of mine (Strife - www.strife.org.uk) always called me a great lemon, so that kind of explains it, doesn't it? T.G.L = The Great Lemon!
