![]() ![]() ![]() Hey Ant, have you ever considered downloading Reaper? It's an extremely high quality free DAW that can run VST's and Reason as a plug-in. There are various ways Reason can be used through Reaper - you'll find all of them on them on the Reaper forum. Here's on example:
Getting MIDI out of Reason 4.0+ via Rewire! - Cockos Confederated Forums

I've heard a lot of good things about Reaper, so it's definitely worth a try, and if ya do end up wanting to buy a non-commercial license for it, $60 is very cheap considering the price of most DAWs and it won't skimp you on content for it!

![]() ![]() ![]() I have Reaper on my laptop and it's excellent - it's got everything that ProTools has plus all of the midi capabilities of Cubase. Highly recommended for anyone who wants a quality DAW.You can download it for free and are asked to pay the license of $60 (which is incredible value) if you like the software. The download is uncrippled and unrestricted though so you can get set up and running straight away. Combine Reaper with all of the free VST's you can get out there and you can have a great system for next to nothing

![]() ![]() ![]() Pretty sure it should be... not sure if the installer is a stand alone executable or if it downloads additional bits and pieces during the installation process. It's a incredibly small download though considering what you get out of it. The one thing about Reaper though is that there are updates almost daily so you would really want to be connected to stay on top of the development. Worth trying to get that machine of your connected Tony, even if it is only temporarily.

![]() ![]() ![]() No, you download it to your internet machine, then move the entire directory to your non-internet machine, and it runs from there without any further internet connection

![]() ![]() ![]() Took a look at Reaper and it looks pretty comprehensive but for that reason as I`m on hol in a few weeks time and not back till after the closing date I`ll have to skip this comp. Not likely to be around for the voting but I wish everyone all the best and look forward to hearing the entries on my return.
Ant
