Starcrossed (featuring Wednesday Wilson)
I wouldnt listen to much of what Pidgeman says. He has got it in for artists (especially if they do well in the charts) and is looking to attack them and wind them up. He has successfully done this with me several times. He may not genuinely like Wednesdays vocal and he is entitled to his opinion - but i think by saying what he did he is hoping to rattle a few cages. I think Wenesday has a great voice (as do many other people) so i wouldnt take any notice of him. Have a listen to his work and see if you get it and leave a comment for him - he only wants constructive criticism and has suggested he will only ever do the same - though i didnt see anything constructive on his comment for this track. He is just trying to wind you and Wednesday up (and anyone else who likes this song). Starcrossed is MILES better and more original than anything i have heard on his page. James
There are some good ideas and enjoyable parts to this track. I have to say though, I've been reading everybody praising Wednesday's vocal for months on this site and I just don't get it. Craig
Hey Guys, this is fabulous! A lot has been written and I agree with the majority of the posters here however, Gronk says it best for me! All 4 thumbs from me and the Gronk!
I don't know if it's because I have seen so many of your videos and the fact that your logo is so colorful PLUS Wednesday's previous "Alice" releases or what, but this plays a mini-animated children's movie in my head - but in a cool spaced-out way. Trippy and cool!
Can't wait for the popcorn to enjoy this tune with LOL! Jennybangdrum says it all...sci-fi/fantasy....nice vocal interplay...male/female playfully weaving the light storyline...Bob B and Wednesday...lots of potential for more from you...Dragons doing the electronica? Great combo! Thumbs! Definitely worth looking in the stars ;)
Gibbo got it spot on. This sounds like it belongs as the title track of a 1980s sci-fi/fantasy movie. Love the music that backs up the vocals. The contrast in the male/female vocals is interesting. On the one hand you have a young, sweet and innocent sounding female voice and on the other a much older, gruff and gravelly sounding male vocal. It doesnt gel for me and i think a more refined pop voice for the male parts of the song would have worked better in this instance. Like Limahl in the song Gibbo mentioned "Never Ending Story". There is a 1990s duet by Kylie and Nick Cave (Where the wild roses grow) that has a similar kind of contrast in the vocals but that works because of the subject matter of the song (Death and murder). That said i still think this is a fine piece of work. A stick in the head melody augmented by the wonderful electronic music. Enjoyed.
Excellent, beautiful melody and vocals, made me think of songs like Never Ending Story. Love it. Gibbo
A great collab'. The two vocals compliment each other really well. Simple lyrics but well suited to the music.Rated Paul.
The one that was, the one that is and the one that will be - Zathras knows the one and this is it. All four thumbs from the Gronk.
Wow.....Wot A Brilliant n Lovely Song, Excellent Vocals & Brilliant Lyrics. Thumbs From Johnny O
Absolutely love Wednesdays vocal on this - very pretty and very innocent sounding. Appealing to the ear in every respect. The melody is charming and captivating and when the track had finished i immediately clicked back on the track to relisten. Endearing lyrics that work so well in their simplicity and the instrumentation is just class - for me it evoked 80s synth pop at its very best. Dont know if it was my ears but i detected timing issues as if the vocals were not placed in the mix properly - a slight lag. It could be me mind - see if other listeners detect it. I could be wrong. Just want to say that i think this is a superb collaboration. Well done to all involved. Will click the thumb and help myself to a download. Cheers. James
