What a great track this is, my kinda rock! Excellent stuff I would LOVE to review (hint hint)
I love the power in the guitar playing in this track, as well as in your voice. It's also refreshing to see a subject matter like this being dealt with - music is a great medium to raise awareness about the stuff people would just rather not talk about.
Excellent sound that compels you to listen. Glad to see you like Zappa and Purple too!!
Hey Michael well done on this song and thanks for checking out my profile and commenting. Your vocals are really interesting verses have shades of Jimmy Morrison and chorus reminds me a little of (get ready for it) Ace Friely from KISS (by the way! Thats a good thing hehe)
Insightfull, both as a musician, and a person. Nice work man. Very nice.
Great vocals ! Top marks !
You need to get a great vote at least for the vocals. Cheers, Jost
I like very much this one Excellent work ! 10/10 Alexis VAN EECKHOUT
This has a nice live, spontaneous feel to it. Interesting topic as well, in fact it's not one that I've ever come across before in a musical form. That's good, 'cos music is all about stretching boundaries, and exploring new territory, comfortable or not! I have a companion track to this on my Soundclick page called 'The Parakeet House', however that one tells the story from the twisted logic of a male perpetrator (and is equally uncomfortable). You've turned the whole thing around, and it is not an easy subject to deal with in any form.
As Guitar Magazine is never likely to do it, I thought I'd take this opportunity to interview myself.
Who are you're all time favourite artists?
Mmmmmmm.Judging by my cd collection, I've bought more by Frank Zappa ( how much did he do!!!), Steely Dan, Miles Davis and of course the Beatles than any other artists. I also have a soft spot for Family, Stevie Wonder, Hendrix, The Doors, Mahavishnu Orchestra,Randy Newman and Stevie Ray Vaughan.
Any new stuff?
I listen to lots of new bands and there is some great music about. Black Keys are my favourite new band at the moment and I saw them live a couple of times last year. The Bad Plus are really interesting. Anyone who can do a jazz version of Iron Man deserves respect.
What have you got in the car at the moment?
Big Audio Dynamite, Kasabian, Beatles and a blues compilation.
Who was the last act you saw live?
Paul Weller in Glasgow, I'm not a fan but he was excellent.
Favorite movies?
Cinema Paradiso... Dirty Harry....Bullitt...Groundhog Day....Silent Running....Groundhog Day......Grou..... .
Are you reading a book at the moment?
Birdsong. It is about the Somme...not many laughs. I recently read Michael Moore's Stupid White Men and Love all the People, the collected works of Bill Hicks.
How did you come to be putting stuff on mp3unsigned?
Through school and college I payed the local circuit of pubs and clubs in the north east of England. Contemporaries were people like Brian Johnson of AC-DC, Brian Ferry and Sting (who my band took over a residency from when he went off to London). When I left college we got a recording contract with Vertigo. During that time we were rubbing shoulders with Mark Knopfler, Bob Geldof, Sex Pistols, Rush, all sorts of amazing people. As is often the way in the Biz, the album we produced was never released and we were dumped. I went into a prolonged huff and didn't pick up a guitar for years. I can't be bothered with playing live but the web has given me a reason to write songs again so here I am. What gear do you use? I record on to a Yamaha AW4416 hard disk recorder before I put it through Sound Forge. I've got my trusty Gibson ES335, a Takamine acoustic, Korg X3 synth and Roland TD8K V drums. I'll use any other gadgets or toys I can get my hands on. I have a studio in my loft and when I'm in there, its like a womb....my music womb.
Any collaborators?
No... I am nobby no mates....maybe I'm just a control freak.
Wow, well this one certainly suprised me, at the first few seconds of the song I thought this was going to be a full on heavy metal song but yeah, rock is the keyword, great structure, BRILLIANT voice work and fantastic rhythm. Yet another rock song I feel that is designed to be in a pub or outdoor drinking situation. Excellent structure, great guitar and drum work. Vocally the downtone of the vo
