It Will Get Better (Faded Blue Part 2)
I love the keyboard! I love your vision! I love your music when I'm drunk! I'm drunk now! I love THIS! I love and respect anyone who takes chances with their music. You have a sound that is all your own. I wish you all the best! Rated AWESOME F*****G SONG! Eric B A D L O V E J U N K I E
I really like the piano melody. Cool combination of bluesy and an alternative flavor to the vocals. The lyrics reflect the real life challenge but the chorus is a great affirmation for encouragement.
I like the bass, it adds flavour and presence, not too keen on the actual song itself, it follows a very strict musical theme and detracts from the vocals. Guess I just like things a little more off the hook. And welcome to the site by the way :)
I`m no expert at production so I will leave the commentary on that to those better positioned to offer advice. When I llisten to a track I'm more inclined to look for interesting progression and melody. This track has both and has has been said already its fun and quite an addictive listen. For me production can be learnt so much easier than good song construction so I wouldnt lose sleep over that. A refreshing addition to the MP3U usual list of suspects (me included :) Thumbs up team Ant
Some good ideas here alright, production is what you need to work on. Vocals are good though and seem to be well recorded but the rest of the mix is much more basic. I agree that there is plenty of potential here. Drums are almost non existent in the mix and the bass and piano tone need work but theres enough here to work with to pull something cool out of. Pretty original sounding track, unusual structure and approach that works - keep working on it!
Agree with geiger and tony on bass and drums. Good little tune tho and I see what tony means about the zappa feel. I like how the track developed after the 2mins mark dude. It does need work on production tho and you're probably in the right place to get answers and help. Lyrics would have helped a tad on some vocal lines. Gonna giv a thumzup on the entertaining quirkiness in the song which I enjoyed
Good tune, real potential, plus points are a great little vocal track, sounds like you have really worked on that area and it shows and I love the piano track, it's great :) Bass is horrible though lol, and don't think you could bury the drum track more if you tried. Sort out a better mix and you have a winner on your hands :)
Some good ideas in this track, but man, you gotta lose that grossly distorted bass track, it overshadows everything. On the positive, love the vocals, harmonies and lyrics. Drums could do with some work to bring them out a bit. I get a REM and early Zappa feel to this, which is growing on me the more I listen.
Apsis Lappet was the brainchild of Texas native Nate Kitchens after taking a break from his former band, Koi Pond in Hell. It eventually evovled into a collaboration between different musicians that Nate had met over the years. Soon after forming they were released two EPs with the help of No-Source Netlabel, and a third and final with the label is in development.
Nate grew up playing piano and taking lessons. He worked in a studio as an engineer for years before going to college where he created Babies on Fire, an alternative rock band with his friend Nick Weingardner. Mid-way through working with them he formed Instant Wonton, an experiment with his other friend Corey Johnson. The experiment was to see if two producers could work together and make an album. Shortly after Babies on Fire went on hiatus and Instant Wonton ceased, Nate formed Koi Pond in Hell with high school friends Thorn Katz and David Gorran. They produced their first album titled "The Bright Side of Pessimism" before they split up to do their own projects. Currently Apsis Lappet is working on a stage show and making new music.
