Blow Me Away
Wow my friend.. Love the striped down, organic acoustic! Vocals are smooth and slythery.. Another track that's reminding me of my Spiggity.. ;) Good stuff!
Sweet acoustic sound. Your production values have improved immensely. I like the way it centres up after the intro. 4 tunes in a row I've listened to with an acoustic feel. Your voice and the acoustics are occupying the same frequency territory, so a little lift to the vox around 1-2K and maybe back off the acoustics a touch at those frequencies may lift them clear more. Small crit though, sounds a fine song. The times they are a changin. Voted, of course.
Nice one Erik. I usually hit the back button 10 secs in on folky, acoustic style music, but this one kept my attention to the end. Really groovy intro & vibe throughout! Music is the most subjective of all the arts. You'll never please them all, but this one pleased me.
It's the track I prefer... The guitar sounds good. Your voice goes naturally on it. Really excellent.
hey Erik, I am really glad you dropped by my page, because now I got to visit your page... great stuff man. love the acoustic guitars here and your voice is strong..
Erik, I do believe you passed your music studies with flying colors! Strong pickin' + singing with cool attitude~ woohoo! :) Awesome tune, performance & production-- makes for a great listen, thank you! =Bravo=
Cool song. Very truthful, from the heart. Nice job!
Those guitars are sounding great on here Eric. Another track that we had missed in the past with great lyrics. We can just imagine some of the things you say.LOL As if they would get you in any sort of trouble! Admire you for your determination to make every track sound better and better. The way you express your lyrics in your vocal is great and its YOU!!! A better late than never thumbs for this great song.
I enjoyed this very much, kind of an orchestra of acoustic guitars, yeah works for me, rated.
lovely conversationalesque lyric, I liked the opening guitar but feel it got a bit busy after this at times - 12 string guitar an option? had a look around :looks and sounds pretty good here and your web page - nice one Erik - jon(late as usual)
You have a wonderful way with words and music, this track is excellent, thoughtful lyrics hit home and the choppy chord changes add excitement and drama. Superb work!
A very very cool melody you've got going here Erik. Absolutely loving what you are doing with the guitar on this!! The track does what it says on the label. PJ
Nice bold production on this, a steady coherent - ramble -style delivery sits nicely alongside the guitars, which are very well played by the way. A good strong piece.
First I've heard this, and first I've heard anything quite like this in a long, long time....wow! What an amazing blend of acoustic tracks, Erik, and some of your best lyrics, buddy. Vocals sound great, really like the way you lean into them just prior to the four minute mark...whew! Easy thumbs up, amigo....
You've done a lot of work on this one...much tighter than recall the original to be...vocals sitting tighter in the multi-guit layers...you're really working on your stuff!! Great job on the remix (although I do like your tunes because they are loose and have a raw vibrant energy in that freedom ;) Excellent! Thumbs!
Hi Erik, Not sure why I missed this, but glad I came by! Excellent lyrics, and your rhythm and lead guitars are well-suited to this one. Your vox, is always your defining element (did I hear harmony on this ;). Rage on! You exude the raw energy that makes your stuff one of a kind! Thumbs!
love this track!!!
Really diggin this track man! I think this song is my favorite so far! Lyrics and guitars are cool! Lovin your vocals man! Kinda a bit Bob Dylan feelin! -Rex
Unusual yet solid acoustic lines:-) Man you have improved big time, nice riffage and the vox work for me too. I can imagine some distorted section in this track, alternating between BIG overdriven guitar tones with drums and the nice clean tones you have going on here. It works as it too btw, just saying there is potential for a heavier version;) Nice track Erik, well worth a rate.
Acoustic sound on this is cool. Is some of it DI'd ? Gives it a nice low fi feel and closeness . Another wicked lyric . Yeah this is one gotta hear more times for sure . You got a good vocal sound too .
loved the acoustic guitar - great sound - lot of passion in the vocals
Cool guitarwork fella.Luv the vocals too.Production is nice 'n clean and really like it when it steps up a notch at 4.11...sweet.R8ed.
erik, haven't been back on this one for a couple weeks. much cleaner than the last time. I could no more re-record one of mine than fly to the moon. I admire your talent and stick-to-it-ness. sounding real good actually...
Erik Don't give up my friend. This version sounds really really good! What a great song!! Never give up.... take a step away... then come back. Take care my friend! Eric
Very nice acoustic work. A touch dry, maybe a hint of reverb would soften them. Just an idea. Bets vocals from you so far. Great tune. Your production skills have improved 1000%. Great acoustic solo. Maybe something needed for the bass registers? I can hear a double bass in here... Thumbzup no problem, dude!
what i do alot is to double up the vocals only cuz it irons out alot of imperfections and boy there are plenty FOR ME to iron out :) but timing is then an issue, and maybe that fele doesn't work for you. maybe a bit of reverbe or depth but tihs is a more edgy sound and maybe doesn't lend itself to that? anyway good luck and have fun.
Well done man, well freaking done
Super guitars, great rustic sound and twangy overlapping melodies. And then the vocal came with neat lyrics too.
Put aside your synthesizors and sequencers let Eric though. I simply loved the scrtatchy simple vibe of the opening accoustic. For me your vocal could be brought forward a tad in the mix as you have such a strong listenable tone its a shame to lose it. Great work Ant
Hi Erik! Excellent vibe on this and as has been said you have obviously worked hard to produce this. Take Care Andy:)
Wow Erik! What a difference. You're the hardest worker for the music. It paid off.
Erik, It just sounds great to me my friend! Every "re-recored" part is a songwriters paintbrush on a canvas of silence.. Love it man! All The Best Eric
The work on the vocals really shows Erik. In particular the way they fit into the song much better than the original. Of course, dig the geetar on this un too......
You are so inventive...your influences your talents and drive to perform show on every tune you do. Keep on truckin!
Hi Erik, You just keep gettin better all the time. I'm not surprised at all. Your dedication is showing. You're also refining your signature sound. Keep a close eye on your timing. But that shows much improvement as well.
Hey Erik. I have to admit, I dig these kind of songs from you as much as any. I'm with Andy on the number of words being put in a short space there in the middle of the beginning (dunno how to put it any differently). Geetar playing is sweet as always. When you use this particular geetar it has a signature sound that belongs to you. Kind of like Rich (Lodato). I dig it. As you keep moving forward in your songwriting adventures, I have this feeling you are going to be one of the best around here and elsewhere one of these days. Just keep doing what you are doing. It's so cool you listen to those on here that give good constructive comments on the site. People who are willing to ask for and take advice are truely humble and are the ones who progress in music (and life) the most IMHO. You are one of those I suspect..........and I guess that's why I just stay in the same place....:-o. Take care mi amigo and keep on ROCKIN!!!!
Only quibble the guitar sounds a little thin, and like James says, could do with a little more on the bottom end. That said, the playing and arrangement are good. I like the stream of conciousness style of singing (which is miles better than I can sing!) It gives it an organic yet leftfield feel to it. Anything coming in from the left is good by me...
Oh ya did I mention that i "dig" this... ') Rock on buddy!
I love this one man! That acoustic is sweet! Kinda of a souther rock vibe going on. I really dig the lyrics. Great guitar work (Solo) The lyrics have a poetry feel to them which i really dig! Thumbza and I really dig what you've done far and I'll be back to hear the finished product!
Dude, what are you using for acoustic guitar? For acoustic it is fine but ya can slap a load more bass on the rhythm guitar to fill the sound out. Overall, to pull this off, vocally ya gotta be tighter on the delivery - there's a lot of words (in some places) to fit into a small space and it shows - if ya can try and simplify some of the lines it would work better. Good intro but it starts to fragment as a song about 1min 03 as the words become stacked-up ontop of each other. I found I stopped listening to ya vocal cos it was too fragmented and the message was lost!!! By the time it got to 2min29 I wasn't ready to fix my ears on your vocal - sometimes ya gotta help the listener by leaving clues in the music to help the listener focus on the important stuff and on this ocassion it's the vocal I would say. Anyway, I'll be back again when it gets redone Erik and I trust the comment police won't be on my case for giving MY personal advice lol. WTF at after 5min30 - another song?
