The Emperor (Modern Composers)
Artist Comments This piece tells the story of a wise and powerful man.
He is revered and respected by his subjects and is a fair but strong ruler.
He is ambitious and is war like. He will not be pushed around
nor let his empire be taken from him.
The gong at the beginning announces the piece and also the Emperor to his court.
What follows next is the National Anthem sung with great pride and passion by his subjects
this could even be describing his coronation.
War is looming at 01:12 and there are serious concerns from his generals.
He wants to maintain a peaceful situation but his advisors are telling him to
prepare for war.
He is not the type of ruler that will settle for a defensive action.
He will turn this war into a conquest and totally obliterate any resistance.
There is a little reminder that he lives in a graceful and elegant land with normality
at 01:53, the national anthem once again but a more elgant variation. He is soon reminded that the conflict is near
at 02:24 and he knows he must prepare.
He assembles his weapons and men at 03:04 and training begins in earnest.
He begins the march to war at 03:37 with great confidence.
The battle is not described in this piece but suffice to say, he is victorious and
parades back through his capital city (04:09) with total victory and new lands and riches.
