Forbidden Colours are a Swansea (South Wales, UK) based band who discovered synthesisers in 1979 and, after years of study have finally found the little button that turns them on. We are Mark Newton and Andy Jonah, a control freak and fat boy respectively. We have been influenced by many people, including our bank manager, the electricity board and a hypnotist named the amazing Mesmo.

We would describe our music as having been written by us, musically, using some instruments in a style which is usually the complete opposite of what we started out to write, but which, nonetheless is surprisingly good. We hope one day to pioneer the practice of playing "air-synths." We are possibly the only Welshmen in existence who can't sing (we were thrown out of the choir for shoving), but we're not that worried because the music is the thing. When not writing music we generally tend to stare off into space listening to whatever tunes our inner DJ's spin in our heads. Contrary to everything written here, we do take our music seriously.
