Escape To The Moon Part II
Hello, Chris! It was pleasure to comment on your YouTube page. By all rights, you should get dozens of comments per day! I don’t get it. One can post exciting original art to YouTube, only to watch it sit in total disregard while something like a video celebrating the world champion windbreaker will soar to #1 on the site! What frustrating injustice! I enjoy listening to both parts of ESCAPE TO THE MOON in succession as two movements of the same work. I hope you are sending demos of this exciting music to your local dance clubs. They would have to be deaf to not recognize your impressive skills! Your collaboration idea is interesting, Chris. Tell me more of what you are thinking.
Hi Ricky, thanks for your feedback.. I completely agree with you to be honest. I think some of the issue is my use of the side chain compression, I am not allowing enough room for the Kick and Bline to exist with the rest of the mix. The result is big highs and crap lows. I have invested in some new plugins to help me along, including Nicky Romero's KICK and Kickstart, which have already helped me loads on a new track I am working on. Perhaps I will revisit this one and adjust at some point, for now I am all mooned out and will focus on making a better production of the new one. Cheers buddy.
Its a very top heavy mix. No bass well not low freq bass. Nice use of the 303 but I think it would work better if you add some sub freq too. Makes my ears tired without and bass. Nice old skool vibes maybe the de-tuned synth needs something layering with it too. Like I said it sounds very top heavy. Peace,Ricky
Guys as always much appreciated on the feedback.. glad you all like it! Terry Z3TA is not what I have used, but I am intrigued as to what it is? As you know I work with software these days rather than hardware, but hardware is what made software!
Yes, this is real quality, the voice is so appealing and the production is just outstanding. Great work Chris, easy vote. Gibbo
Countdown to the moon...gonna get there with those massive beats and female vox..."come with me...escape..I'm free..." who can refuse an invitation like that ...confident poise in this Chris...whatever software suite you are using, it's working out well..some of the electronica sound familiar...Z3TA? how's that learning curve going? :)
Thanks Rich, a lot went into this one.. so glad you like it. I have been listening to a lot of Above & Beyond.. influences slightly rubbing off. More importantly how you doing? Keeping well i hope!
Hey Chris, I love what cha doin here. Great beat that forces involvement. It's chill and up beat at the same time. Love the dimensional audio quality in the production. Really nice track!
Chris Rice born in 1974 has always been a huge fan of electronic music, from the electro 80s which in its later stages brought us House music from the late and great Frankie Knuckles which lead into the 90s, a decade that gave us old skool, drum and bass, happy hard-core and in its later years the best of trance music.
Living in the 21st Century one thing is clear, Dance Music or Club Music whatever your name for it is has never died and in recent years has begun a huge revival! With easy access to tools that can help anyone produce music we have seen an explosion in artists of the electronic genre producing some great sounds and tunes.
I have spent many hours producing music, not for anything more than the pleasure it gives me to create it. Under the alias of H2O i focused on reviving some of those 90s styles and big hooks.
I’ve now rebranded under a new alias, R.C.Y. Well for one H2O has been well used by other artists and second Ricey was always my nickname (among others lol), I also wanted to change, even as I approach what is considered a significant stage of life I feel the need to create music that is for the now and not the yesterday.. Although with influences from the yesterday... I don’t consider that to be a bad thing, you cannot ignore the essence of dance or club music.
So join me as i step up a notch and take on the DJs and amazing artists of today and produce what I hope you will feel is worth listening to....
H2O is no more... R.C.Y has landed!!!Will be kicking off with a new mix of Escape To The Moon, like you have never heard before! 26.04.04New artist webpage is also under production and will be launched soon. In the mean time feel free to drop by on my facebook page..
