Counting Down The Days H2O Remix
Terry cheers for the comments. Electronic music is a hard genre, your not allowed raw sounds or less than crisp productions. With rock, metal and indie music you can get away with a certain live sound, with electronic music it has to be faultless in every way. The era of digital demands it. Its where i struggle to be honest, the final master, the final mix.. never sounds great to me. There are also a lot of artists writing dance music because it is so accessible now.. the software you can buy is amazing! However... tracks with tune and goosebump material are few and far between,,, the mass production of such music has clouded what was once a huge scene. Nightclubs in the UK are sadly dyeing out and DJ's are finding it harder to make a trade. As with all types of music it comes in cycles.. it will have its day once again in the future. (Hopefully).
ooops did I neglect to clarify, as though it needed to be , that I include myself in the "ignorant among the musical masses" largely unaware of techniques and skill of electronic artists?...We may be oblivious, but we remain largely appreciative of the results :)
Not many trance artists here, but a few of you carry on the education for the rest of the musical illiterate :) Always enjoy the flow of your music...beats and electronica would be relentless without some well-placed minimalism and builds/rises...got a fine female vocal sample to work with, and you wrap it up all so well. Enjoyed a toe-tapper in this. How did the comp go? All the best!
you keep outdoing yourself all the time major props and kudos cheers lexuskywalker
Baz thanks for you comment mate, for some reason I had not picked up on some of your questions.. as for winning the comp, well the voting on beatport starts soon...

Chris Rice born in 1974 has always been a huge fan of electronic music, from the electro 80s which in its later stages brought us House music from the late and great Frankie Knuckles which lead into the 90s, a decade that gave us old skool, drum and bass, happy hard-core and in its later years the best of trance music.
Living in the 21st Century one thing is clear, Dance Music or Club Music whatever your name for it is has never died and in recent years has begun a huge revival! With easy access to tools that can help anyone produce music we have seen an explosion in artists of the electronic genre producing some great sounds and tunes.
I have spent many hours producing music, not for anything more than the pleasure it gives me to create it. Under the alias of H2O i focused on reviving some of those 90s styles and big hooks.
I’ve now rebranded under a new alias, R.C.Y. Well for one H2O has been well used by other artists and second Ricey was always my nickname (among others lol), I also wanted to change, even as I approach what is considered a significant stage of life I feel the need to create music that is for the now and not the yesterday.. Although with influences from the yesterday... I don’t consider that to be a bad thing, you cannot ignore the essence of dance or club music.
So join me as i step up a notch and take on the DJs and amazing artists of today and produce what I hope you will feel is worth listening to....
H2O is no more... R.C.Y has landed!!!Will be kicking off with a new mix of Escape To The Moon, like you have never heard before! 26.04.04New artist webpage is also under production and will be launched soon. In the mean time feel free to drop by on my facebook page..
