liking the keys on this song, they maintain a prog vibe but still have a foot in a commercial sound also...i think thats a hard balance that you have achieved here, the productionis great and everything is arranged in a way the movements of the song can be heard as they transition, voted!
Hey - thanks to everyone for the comments! Please keep voting!
Like the slow down into a more mellow groove at the 9 minute mark and of course i can see where the Genesis reference comes in but I could also hear what I thought were Yes influences...overall I liked where the vocal sat in the mix! Gets my vote!
Glad you're liking the Prog so far! Thanks for the votes!
Thumbs up chaps, Prog Rules!
The lamb lies down on Broadway intro is fab dudes. OK it develops from there but continues a little too long in the same theme but gladly returns at 3min30 ish to that original vibe then vocals appear. I've gotta admire your taste from circa 1975. It meant a lot to me and I've gotta giv ya thumbs-up for that alone. On the downside I don't think you've done justice to the production that could have been superb i reckon. Vocally it began a little shaky (admittedly with some tricky key changes) but got better. If ya hav no-idea about the references I gave pls google "Lamb lies down on broadway" and listen although, I suspect , having listened to all 19-odd minutes of this track I have no doubt you are staunch old genesis lovers with maybe a little zappa thrown in for good measure in the 8th minute. Post 11 mins (approx) it's getting more 80/90s genesis and pops up with some classic tuneage at 13mins. Yes, I'll say it again... I applaud thee for composing this but i would urge ya to try and big it up on production standards. Lyrics would help if ya could put em up tho i suspect this is beyond a lot of listeners but not me!!! I love this sorta stuff.
Just brilliant, nice job here guys, I really like it.
Bloody hell, this must have taken ages to put together, Excellent stuff indeed. Top vox too.
Nice track! Great performance. Great produciton too. Nice job. Thumbs up. Wait for Stars
Vivid Glimpse was formed in 2009 by brothers Andy and Richard Vellacott. They released their first album "Into The Precipice" in mid 2010 and less than a year later have released their second album entitled "Looking From The Outside In".
The band's music covers a broad selection of genres from the light hearted pop rock tracks of the first album to a much more progressive and rocky sound on the new album.
The band have found the ability to compose tracks of substance and are not afraid to explore their ideas to the full and create works of longer length.
With Andy coming out from behind the drum-kit to take on the additional role of lead vocalist, and Richard playing keyboards and guitar the pair just about cover the whole range of instruments themselves.
