Norwegian trance producer TGL unleashes waves of euphoria and lets them pour through a submerged zone of infectious, melodic, hard-driving beats. From an early musical start (singing at age 4) to producing Paul Oakenfold-like anthems, it will be no surprise to catch one of TGL's tracks on the next Ibiza dance compilation.
Editor's Review @ music.download.com

My name is Henri Oskar Klungland and I go by the artist name of T.G.L. My Birthday is 16th September 1988 and I've been producing Electronic music, mainly Trance, since I was 12 years old. I live in Norway, but my Mum is Finnish, so I have had the pleasure of living in Finland with her family from time to time in the Holidays.

What got me into listening to Electronic music was the popular track back then, Sandstorm by Darude. It totally blew my mind. I had never even heard tracks from genres like that before. I only listened to what my Mum and Dad were playing on the stereo or what my friends listened to, which was mostly Rock or Hip Hop. From that moment on, I finally found something that I could really listen to. Not something that my friends or family made me listen to, but something I could really feel and love.

My producing "career" (if you will) started when I was around 12 years old. In the music class we all got to play around with a program called Ejay. The first Ejay program I played around with was from the Hip Hop series. Sure, it was fun, but nothing like the music I really wanted to make. Then came the Dance series and I was hooked. I loved it to pieces. I remember I used to spend hours upon hours just fooling around with that program, making .... music, but I didn't care because I put it together. I was in control.

Later on I registered myself to the lovely Ejay community which I am still an active member of. There I learnt a lot of tips and tricks from other users of the program and it really helped me improve my tracks. One day I heard a "home made" track with a unique sound. Something I had never heard before. I was fast to ask what program the track was made on, and the answer was Fruity Loops (now FL Studio). It was Square Bear who had made the track and it was called Firestorm (now signed to Home City Records).

I quickly downloaded a demo of Fruity Loops and Square Bear was kind enough to help me with it. I even got to remix Firestorm! I still used Ejay as a sequencer, but I made all my melodies inside Fruity Loops. After 2-3 years of using Ejay as a sequencer, I finally switched completely to Fruity Loops. I was now advancing my musical talent and it all went uphill from there.

One of my first tracks made entirely on Fruity Loops was called Joy (under the alias Dj Diablo, but I really want to forget that name :P) and I entered it for a competition held by TheLivingDream, a respected member of the Ejay community. My track came 2nd and it felt great. It gave me that extra kick to keep on making music. And I have never regretted once in my life that I did.

Yes yes, this is all good, but why do I call myself T.G.L? Well, an English friend of mine I used to chat with randomly called me a great lemon. I do not remember the reasons for that name now, but I kind of liked it in an awkward way. T.G.L stands for The Great Lemon.

Some people like to think that I only listen to Electronic music because that is what I make, but that is not true at all. I listen to almost all kinds of music and it really depends on my mood. Some times there can go weeks for me without listening to any Electronic music at all. Some of my favourite bands and artists are Muse, Coldplay, Keane, Kaiser Chiefs, Racoon and even the odd Westlife song (you can stop laughing now). The point is that I am very open minded to new music and I can enjoy just about everything when I am in the right mood.
