Wormwood - BBC Introducing
Big Big track Malc.all synths are fighting for power all on level 11 as Spinal Tap would say..The distorted lead is pretty cool and the arps are a winner for me. So many parts to this the moog synth melodys and the gatted synth wow a journey for sure, Never heard a door creak for a beat before ive used a gun click..but the door takes the biscuit lol.Cool work fella and nice to see you get on BBC radio.I few nods to Jarre in this piece but thats a good thing 14 min . Its a gem. Cheers Pete
You got on BBC Radio? That's awesome man!! This song is totally killer and intense, can tell you put a lot of work into this and it shows... Love all the stereo panning and the minimalistic drum kit and the bass line is... wicked! Really good job on this, reminds me of stuff by Underworld and Royksopp and even Chemical Brothers and Gareth Emery... You rock so hard man I can't even begin to tell you how good this music is!!!
Twenty minutes attention is asking a lot in this fast paced world, but then you deliver a lot, and kept it interesting throughout. What a thrill getting airplay! How cool is that? Yeah! Was curious how much of this composition was planned, and how much extemporaneous? Well done!
Your BBC air time is well deserved, Mal! Not the kind of music I normally listen to, but the flow of the music and the never ceasing intensity really get to you! - / Peo
Terry i dont vist the forum much mate so i haven't commented there about it's air play. Lodato "M" is refering to a name change to 'Function of the mind' that i experimented with and will use for other styles. Thanks all for your comms. :)
what's M talking about? what happened to mal-function? i'd like to hear mal-function. love things that dont work right.
you don't just play your music and just have music there and thinking, do I like this, yeah... no not here. not with you. it's always something inspired and worked for. you can tell when it's the right time. the finish line is the most important thing to recognize. we'll see won't we.. boy man, you always deliver in very large ways.
What happened to Mal-function of the mind? :) Heard this before, most of it anyway, but nice work m8.
Well done Mal, hope you get the recognition you deserve. Rated, Gibbo
great job buddy,enjoyed
btw...was this on the "successes" thread on the mp3u forum? If so , I must have missed it...hope it is again noted there :)
Thanks for sharing the "BBC Introducing..." version...great to hear the context...must have been exciting to listen to your composition on "air" :D Celebrating this recognition with you, Malcolm! Well Done!
Super track full of different elements with a trance feel at 6 mins and the dreamy sequence around 13. Even the outro 20 minutes later was a great tease on the ears!! There is something special listening to a song over the airwaves knowing that all those people are listening at the same time!! Excellent news and congrats getting the air-play...
Its a great track Malcolm, and I love all the "hard-tech" elements that drive this, its beyond anything else really, heaps of cool breakdowns add suspense, tension and release, a very cool track, with a very scary title! Cheers, Andrew
Truly Magnificent!!! Well done to get on the Radio!!..Deservedly so Mal. Been trying for ages with BBC Introducing! This is an astoundingly dramatic composition..nuff said! An epic track...You get your full moneys worth here!!! Cheers for an amazing download of incredible quality! ..."Wormwood"...the name of the star that will eventually obliterate the earth..apparently! keith
