Hey thanks for the comments guys! Haven't checked this page in a while, all comms very much appreciated. Glad to that this stuff doesn't seemed to have aged as badly as I thought it might have:)
Yeah, I was expecting some tragic 90's rubbish lol, honestly if you hadn't said it was 20 years old I would never have known. They say everything comes back into fashion lol, but this hasn't really aged much at all, sound great actually. It's all mental of course, like fusion food mixing genres shouldn't work, but pleased to say this sounds quite brilliant :)
Hmm.. when I read your comms in the thread I was expecting something completely different, this is awesome, of course I'm listening through a tv so I can't be too sure of anything I say lol I like the spooky-ness of it, perfect for halloween time, I love the synths, nice and thick, crispy and somewhat juicy at times if any of that makes any kind of sense whatsoever which it doesn't, bassline's awesome, could use some vocals, sounds like you need to send it to Rockstar or another gaming facility, later...
Sound quality's not that bad Dave, considering.Great percs at the start, kinda reminds me of Charly says by Prodigy. Then the thumpin' 4x4 comes in...noice.Great metal/electronic crossover with some blissfully evil chuggage...
very different....obviously to what you normally do... the audio quality as held out to be honest...I've heard worse mixed digital lol I should dig some of my 90's efforts...i'd have to rip them from vinyl...I did one time but deleted them from the site it was uploaded @ and didn't keep them on my computer(dumbass) think I heard this before? did you upload this before a few years back? I seem to remember you uploading some techno cross metal? or am I confusing you with someone else?....anyway, Enjoy ...peace,Ricky
Trying to figure out if it's my cuppa tea or not. I liked the string bits in there - they were really nice - was that played on some keys or a sample of some type (back then I don't know if such things existed!). It doesn't sound dated dave and it aint a bad recording either. I'd be interestd to see what the technical guys think about it but for now I have to just scratch me head and giv a thumzup for a modernesque sounding tune (with those great strings) and look forward to the techno folk's comments.
My attempt at a techno metal crossover with scifi/horror themes. This stuff was all recorded way back using the worst gear imaginable!
'Techno Maker' for the sequencing (static at 170bpm for every song) and Goldwave for the audio mixing (one track at a time!). Guitar was recorded via 1/8" line in at the back of the desktop direct into the line-in (as was the keyboard). I only wish I had the gear back then that I have now - this page is a tribute to the old days.
Cyberpunk was a collaborative effort with me and Phil (MC Squared) - the remaining members of the metal band Nexus, after our drummer disappeared to make a career out of tagging sharks in wild oceans (true story).
I wish now that I would have stuck with producing electronic stuff for a bit longer because technology has raced ahead and it's now beyond me. So now I just record straight forward metal and shred:-)
