I was drawn to this lovely piece by your inspired title. What a wonderful image you draw for us as we envelope ourselves in the warming sounds of your SNOW BLANKET. As I'm sure you know, one can actually find comparative warmth buried in the snow. This music is marked by your trademark spiritual elegance. The gentle percussion reminds me of runoff from warming icicles, as the other delicate instrumentation fills my mind with the holy images of falling flakes and breeze-blown snowdrifts with occasional sparkling sunlight on diamond-clear ice represented by the patch that resembles the sound of the glockenspiel.

Got lots of snow this Christmas...over a metre in the past 2 weeks...then an ice storm took out the power for a bit, some still without power in Toronto and its environs...went out to chop some wood and dry it out for Christmas Eve...hunkering down under this snow blanket. I often use A New Day (video version) in my class as a starter to gather our thoughts for the struggles in the day ahead...this is up there with the same vibe...calm...silent night...warm and fuzzy...quietly optimistic and hopeful...snug in the blanket of ambient textures and piano...gentle bass and drums are like a soothing sonic massage...thanks Stephen!
