Sleep Well Darling
I am using this song - as I type - to put my 4 year old nephew out. It's pitch black in my room. It's gone through once, and he's still fidgeting, but not as much as when I told him I was playing this for him. Beginning the 3rd play, and no fidgeting, but I feel the bed moving here and there. 4th play, no movement - but I'm playing it one more time to be sure! Thanks Tom! I dig this one!!!
Good to hear this again, Tom~ pretty precious this song is- I am sticking with the 1st comment I had left for you in 2009. (so true, once again-- time zips on by, huh!) Keep making your songs~ straight from the heart they are, I can tell. :)
Really like the guitar, was hoping the song would build up a little more, but I do like it how it is :)
Very nice lyrics and music. This download will make the playlist that I have for the little ones to fall asleep to when they take naps and at night. This song is awesome. Thanks for the DL.
This is an unusual track, but quite catchy after a second listen.Slightly mystical to me.
Loved your original version, but actually prefer this version. Oddly timeless, reminds me of some old Lionel Bart musical stuff, which is a bit bizarre but I got that vibe, and most people will have no idea what I mean, but you will lol :) I love it, it's very beautiful :)
Hi Tom, a really nice song. I like the intimacy of the vocal (though it sounds a little muffled?). Wondered whether a slightly more organic bass (a bit more release? Or a bit less "on"/"off" at any rate) would help it flow a bit more? A couple of points where the backing vocals get a little out of line too. But nice clear production and I suspect you've got just the "close" vibe you want from it.
"First" not fist...
Tom, Fist it would be cool if ya posted the lyrics so folks cold follow along. I dig the song. It has a kind of mid-evil/dark ages feel to me sound to me. It's beautiful and yet kind of unsettling to me. Ya I can dig it. Thumbs up Eric
I just noticed I've been here before. Just like to add, maybe relaxing the quantization would help this track, making it more fluent. And possibly do away with the drum track, I don't reckon you need it. Have you got chorus on your voice? I'd be tempted to reduce it.
Pleasant little ditty Tom! Enjoyed it and am impressed if you wrote this when you were 16. Andy :)
There's some very different stuff coming through on this site, people are stretching themselves and the results are so refreshing. Good work.
Hi Tom! It's been a long time since I have listened to you. (time zips on by doesn't it!) I adore angels... images, beliefs, music, you name it...angels rock! ;) I really like your lyric, and I think your productions are sounding good! ~kudos!~ Nice to see you here again, Tom - don't stay away too long, ok! ;)
I can write music, and I consider myself eclectic. I like any kind of music if it is good. I am inspired by classic pop à la Queen, Bee Gees, Abba, Stones, R.E.M., Jazz à la John Coltrane, new age/ experimental à la Kitaro, and house à la Claptone, Milk & Sugar, etc. And a bit of Disco. And a bit of Camp. Add quirky. Add (a bit of) evil. That's me.
