Butterflies
I've seen your name on the site, mentioned in chats and the odd comment wonndering where artists are now...Don't think I've seen an upload in the past year that I have been here...but seeing your name today, made me drop in...browsed the tracks...amazed...you have written and recorded wonderfully enticing music...only reason I paused listening was to take time to comment on this one, and I only stopped by this track because the images had the butterfly so I thought...hmmm... I am enjoying the recording quality, the guitar work, the synth support filling out this acoustic track...above all.. I am enjoying the lyrics and the way you sing them...optimism, hope, all things sweet and delicate, like the butterfly, come through here! Delightfully gentle and a tad on the whimsical side of Life....I love that vibe! Can I still vote? Nice to drop by for a visit Mark..hope to become a frequent flier ;)
Nice song Mark. Very easy going and consistant flow.
Hi, Cool laid back song. Great melody and well-crafted and meaningful lyrics. Nice work. Rated. Cheers, Smudge from Smudgie
what the heck.. i closed my eyes, then when i opened em i was sitting on a small brick wall staring off into the vast fields and blue skies.. this is extremely comforting.
I was there in 67 in San Fransico and you have truly captured the sweetness of that time before the backlash & the chaos set in. Thank you for this lovely tribute to a bygone era. rated
Again, hard to revieuw one track. ( should have joined sooner ) You have found a very personal sound. It reminds me in some way to Simon and Garfunkel ???? can't say why ? just pops out..... I like your music, great tunes to listen too
You really know how to put togehter a song and you have found your sound I would say. Your voice really suits your writing and production. Consitently good songs.
This works on so many levels Mark - agree the Donovan reference but your voice is a bit Bolan ish in places as well - cracking tune this one.
This remains my favourite of yours, although I love so many....well you know by now hahah

Nice intro Mark.Quality guitar.Don't ask me why but Donovan sprung to mind almost immediately. Nice tight sound. I have not heard the original so I cannot comment on that one but this is a great sound my friend.well done. Take CAre Andy :))
Wow, I love this ! Smooooth. What a nice vibe. The words really touch my soul, too. Beautifully done, from start to finish. :)
i really am diggin this track. this beat does seem to fit a lot better. this is a great summer jam. picture this, laying out in the sun, drinking a beer (or coke) and watching the earth objects go by

Started playing guitar when I was 8 years old, and then took up playing Bass when I was 16. Working with a couple of bands locally mainly playing Rock and Covers. Been writing songs for years but only recently (thanks to the advances in digital recording) started to work on recording them. I live in the South East of England.
Great song Mark the old guitar playing is coming along a treat....I will soon be out of a job......now send them out to everyone and become an international songwriter and star and I can say "I used to know that bloke" keep it up old bean, keep it up
This makes me think of day's gone by, freedom, and life's possiblities. Wow!
From the very start this song reminded me of Jethro Tull. The mood is very thick, and coupled with the lyrics does indeed bring thoughts of Sailors being taken from their families back in the day. I love how it makes me feel that I'm on a ship, and missing home.
great track Mark!!,,love the folky feel and the flute sections...makes me want to get back to the british isles, sit myself down in a pub with a nice guinness and ponder the world!! aaron bishop
I know of Mark's work with his bands and I am glad to hear him branch out with his solo work. He has a great ear for a melody and his lyrical structure is very good indeed. I shall watch this site and his progress up the cahrts with interest.
