I'm So Alone
Yeah darkness ahead and into the unknown. Its great you have stepped out of the box and composed for yourself. The vocal's are mint and the spoken is so fitting. The strings are very well played and the reverb on the vox gives that empty so empty isolation of the person your singing about.Nice one.
Reminds me of Dead Can Dance in away, top class stuff, much respect...ES
Strange piece Terry - has a nightmarish quality. The ambient soundscape coupled with the vocal narration certainly creates an atmosphere. Nice use of f/x and production sounds right to my ears. Like the experimental nature of this and some of your other tracks - probably not one i could listen to repeatedly but there are so many fine songs in your back catalogue if i fancy a singalongawigmore day. Always appreciate the subjects and themes of your work and the unbounded enthusiastic exploration of genres and styles. James
This track is nice and trancy... production sounds good to me but I'm not one to talk about electronic production! ;) I'm happily melting away!
Love that brushed snare, orchestral sounds, those vocals caught me by surprise, thumbs from me mate excellent work
End of the world? Bring it on! lol Appropriately dark sounds Terry and the vocals work well. Quite spooky in places.Liking the sound choices and the ambient pads. Is that a brushed snare I hear? :)
ya a cool dark and isolating soundtrack terry. easily a movie score, had me thinking visuals of desperation and being trapped. its music that communicates, the sort of thing I like.
good idea will do this sunday, post the lyrics thanks for listening
I'm going with surreal, some fantastic sounds floating around in this dreamscape. Love the subtle beats and the narration. Excellent, DL thanks Terry. Gibbo
It's a very dream like track, Terry, the vocals are what grabbed my ears first up, it drew me in, and then the enveloping synth texture's drew me in further! The lyrics are great Terry, there does seem to be an "end of times" disconnect going on in the world today, where is the good news? It's so true that many today feel alone and helpless, and the "people power" of the past seems more and more relegated to the museum of social curiosities! Perhaps this is why so many are drawn to groups, cults, self improvement gurus.....etc not to mention the standard religion's. People want "answers" in a confusing and frightening world, it's understandable? An easy vote Terry, and good luck in the contest, this is a real beauty, and it's very deep! Andrew
Very surreal sound you've got going here Terry. Very much enjoyed...
Hi Terry. Different from what I'm used to from you. I dig that.. Taking chances is what artist expression is all about. This has a darker vibe. Pretty heavy lyrics as well. Very cool panning on the vocals. I also dig the choice of music you chose to express the feeling of desperation. Yes very cool, Best of luck. Eric
Getting an ambient techno feel from this. Very original sounding too :) Hints of "Not to touch the earth" GL. Peace, Ricky
The music is very atmospheric. The words describe the situation perfectly. This is the darkest track I have heard from you. Usually, even your dark tracks have a happy-go-lucky feel to them. Not this one! LMAO! Although, your "spiritual" explanation at the beginning of the song assured me I am not alone, so maybe if I just keep that in mind at the end of the song, I will feel fine. I'll have to try that. I don't know where you get your ideas for your music, but keep them coming!
Had some king crimson vibe in there, total enjoyment,I'll bet you could do a great cover of them, then you give us a little J. M. doors, I thought for sure Densmore is playing the drums, great stuff for sure.
Terry my man, you are so full of beautiful ideas that you so it seems so effortlessly turn into amazing music. I love this track big time. It has depth and passion that's so subtle and light as well darkness with frustration heavily forward not hiding but out there for all to see and feel. Now that's transforming darkness to lightness. Just awesome insight here.
i heard many influences in this song vocals reminded me of frank zappa's dangerous kitchen and it as a tangerine dream feel to the music i do like this strange kind of music good luck with the comp you got my vote

Exploring various styles and topics. Variety is the spice of life.
Joined this community of artists in July of 2011, and quickly observed the community-spirit of artists who take the time to listen to other artists' work and comment meaningfully and positively. The vibe is one of encouragement and helping out.
This was quickly expressed more tangibly in the number of collaborations that were being uploaded and that caught my attention. People were willing to offer skills and abilities, knowledge and understanding, and check their egos at the door and be willing to engage the difficult task of trying to work together for a common good - a better track. THIS has been an education for me and the learning that occurs as a result of working together is extraordinary.
Special mentions to those who have included me in their work, and they in mine: James Bell - not only got the ball rolling but is a kindred spirit; Dachleigh Music (Adam) - who used my cello lines in a some electronic music; Deggsy Music and DawnSinclair - the two are not always inseparable but they work so well together (that RnB will be a highlight!); Deon - we didn't do a lot together, but the journey was expansive; Rich Lodato, whose voice and guitar invites the cello to weave a melody too; AmorfoxiZ (Alfonso,) more cello; Left Ear Bleed (Jeff)...always good to help younger artists; Liquid (Anthony Gee) the budding rock keyboardist ;) and Michael Ritchie - consummate riff-meister and gentle spirit...thanks to one and all for including me in their journeys! FUN!...gotta be more fun than work or it isn't fun any more ;) Special mention to TomC in PC FL, for sharing his journey and struggles. Hang in there Tom!
Also a note of GRATITUDE...that is the theme for my class of students. A number of artists from mp3u have contributed messages addressed to my class, and some have written wonderful tracks to help us find a calm and gentle start to our days of turbulence. Dan Michaelson, Peter Vines...great ambient tracks and such wonderful messages - you two were the first off the mark and set the bar very high for how to approach a class that you didn't really know; Will Riding...the Sleeping Giants was an awesome introduction to story-telling through music; Erik Jurado...straight from you heart to right where my kids are...amazing intuition; Kelly Mitchell...your artist comment narrative was inspirational on over-coming obstacles; Mike Ritchie - one boy has become filled with hope because of a specific word of encouragement...how incredibly awesome! ; Deon - looking forward to your special way of looking at life; Degs - hope to hear from you soon to my friend, and Rich - gonna be some fine vocal/philosphical chicken soup for the teen-aged soul, I think ;) And an invitation for anyone intersted in dedicating a special composition or voice recording of a message from your heart to my class...it is an awesome and humbling experience for me to bridge these positive connections!
Currently working with Liquid (Anthony Gee), who has created some fine music for the class and sent a wonderful interview for the class to listen to. Great support from MP3U, which is much appreciated. We are also enjoying some wonderful orchestral arrangements from AndyF (Andrew Foyston), and a superbly written note to the students. Looking forward to gathering some more artists with ideas and music to share. Hoping to hear from KtA (Marty Etheridge), ATuesdayParadox (Kevin Gibbons) , Lazy Jane (Will Walton), DNA Codex (Andrew Shields) In these personal touches and positive interactions there will be Wellness!
If there are any artists who wish to learn about the Wellness Project for this next school year (Sept 2012-June 2013), or who wish to contribute, please feel free to contact any of the artists who have participated already, or contact me directly by clicking on the "e-mail" button at the top of the page here, or send along a PM (I do check fairly regularly)

*Equipment:
Norman Acoustic, Epiphone SG Double Neck Electric, Ibanez Roadstar II, Cello, Ensoniq EPS, Korg M1Rex, PC, M- audio 410, Cakewalk X1 Studio, Sony MDMX-4, Aiwa powered speakers, Radio Shack consumer headphones, AKG C1000S mic – bottom-line…it may be old(er) gear for the most part, but like myself, all the parts work (at the moment) ;)
**My “creative space” is a cinder block fruit cellar, 6x9, with a 6in poured concrete slab ceiling…nice reflective surfaces for some interesting vocals…the furnace is old and loud and is adjacent, and the main waste pipe from the second floor passes through the “studio” so I have to record before the household awakes or after they are asleep because a single toilet flush can “wh- o-o-o-s-s-h-h-“ through a track like a roar of a jet engine, giving new meaning to the phrase I have come to accept as part of my Buddhist experience - “Flushed Away!”
