This is a weird one... I first heard the original on Jaymz' page and was caught by the
throat by it. The original was recorded on a tapedeck using just his voice and a casio
keyboard. So not much ingredients there.... When I started to create some backingtrack I
discovered that Jaymz' tapedeck ran just a bit to slow.... I had to pitch the whole
recording up a notch (0.2 semitones...). The outcome is quite nice I think. The fx in the
middle of the track are done by just using rolands space echo sim (uad-1) and making it
turn into overdrive. Than put a heavily compressed drumtrack underneath. It really breaks
the track i.m.o. All sounds are from the motif. We got a lot of nice comments on this, some
people wanted to hear some louder vocals (wich is a fair argument)... this is not possible
because of the one track recording Jaymz made. To be honest I love it this low fi way so
even if I could change it, I don't think I would ;)
