That’s why tracks produced by Frenchchocolate--the 24-year old female who hails from the Memphis, TN area and started heavily producing while attending Emory University in Atlanta, GA--often feature sophisticated women with real vocal talent, empowering lyrics for women and beats that even the hardest male rappers praise and inquire about writing to. But this is not a case, as with so many producers, of “you’ve heard one, you’ve heard ‘em all.” Every song on which Frenchchocolate works is different–whether it’s smooth and sexy R&B; such as “When You’re Around” featuring vocalist TJ Scott, the danceable “night out with the girls at the club” anthem “Crazy Wit Me” featuring vocalist Jilla Pauley, or the edgy pop song with rock flavor "If I Didn't Think (I Knew You Better)" featuring vocalist Maristella belting out lyrics about today’s most popular topic among women (cheating!).
