WHO & WHAT is KURT VATLAND?
Kurt Vatland is instantly noticeable whether it's stepping onstage or merely walking into a room. Most that know him agree, Kurt has that evasive star quality people respond to. He comes from a musical gene pool, but his musical identity has never been a hand out. Hailing from small town Minnesota, Kurt left leading his first band (Velveteen) and headed off to Los Angeles scoring an A&R; deal only to leave it behind to start a successful but rather short-lived solo project (Black Box Found) that had even Jerry Hubbard (Prince, IPR of MPLS) boasting sky high possibilities. Falling into a "hole in the wall" existence of depression that almost claimed his life, Kurt is rising from "the ashes" refusing to be denied, and is back on his feet with a vision and new music that can supercede the wildest of expectations. His future is as a solo artist, and he has now released a introductory album entitled ?ON THE CORNER OF CRAZY? with a growing, rooted fan base atop his name alone. Kurt has now relocated from the Minneapolis music scene to Southern California, so keep your eyes & ears open for one of Minnesota's finest!
