Formed in December 2003, it was a cold foggy night and as i (Kev Saigon former drummer with anarchy punk band the disrupters) was busking on the forbidden streets of Norwich, i was approached by a crazy man in a skirt! He started jibbering in a foreign language, which turned out to be drunken scottish. As i backed away fearfully, he asked if i needed a drummer in my one man band. As i was too petrified to disagree, i said yes. Saigon kiss was born. Crazy Ali as he is now known, used the same frightening technique to recruit Steve a metal head killer guitarist, and then Dave a soft spoken pop punk bassist of a local cover band (Run rock or something like that). We packed our sachels, and off we trotted where ever the wind took us, north Elmham village hall, the cherrytree pub, and other exotic establishments, where we frightened the locals and embarrassed our groupies, with our ear bleeding mix of metal punk noise! slowly but surely we began to build up a stable fan base, consisting of blow up dolls, pensioners, young girls and barbies. We have played with everone from Rockabilly band the pea....s to punk band the Anti-nowhere legue and to some of the best rock bands in East Anglia; Paranoia, If fire would fall, Spot etc.. Saigon Kiss are going from strength to strength. In march 05 in the great punk rock DIY tradition we went into Earth rehearsal studio armed with a small 8 track and lots of attitude. We laid down the 5 tracks that became The Throat Speech EP. At a cost of £35 for recording it’s probably not the best EP in the world (and not a patch on our incendiary live show) but it gives a little idea of what Saigon Kiss are about. On 5 6 05 dave our bass man left the band 3 days later James Clamp (J.D.) became the 3rd bass player to join Saigon Kiss,(not very lucky with bass players)maybe this one will keep up with some of the old f**kers in the band, only time will tell.
