Northcape is the ongoing work of a British artist who has been making music for quite some time. The result is influenced by a wide range of different genres, but in particular trance, beats and breaks, ambient and downbeat electronica. Although most tracks (so far) don't have lyrics, they are all drawn strongly from personal experience. The music is produced in a very intuitive way, rather than attempting to make a particular type of track or fit into a particular musical gentre (and the only loops here are Northcape's own).
Nevertheless, Northcape has developed a distinctive and unifying style, which although it sometimes faces the dark side of life normally retains an essential optimism. This approach leads to something that is both enjoyable to listen to and refreshingly different.
